"Have you no sha? How can you just walk back inside of here like this is normal?" Layla asked, watching as Ivy entered the front doors. "You will leave just as I made you leave before."

Ivy smiled. "In the past, you were confident when you spoke of sending out of here but now your voice is shaky. I wonder if it is because you are scared he will throw you out of here. Play nice and you will stay here, Layla."

"Do not speak to so casually. I am the wife of Lord Kingsley. You are just the maid. I don’t care whatever title he ca up with to give you. Are you not ashad? You’ve co back to the ho where you slept with a married man and you are parading around like it is acceptable," said Layla.

n were going to think with other parts of their body but won had to be sensible. Ivy knew that mistresses were frowned upon in the town by other wives. No one was going to send invitations around for Ivy to be part of high society.

"Do you want to be honest about what is acceptable and what is not? You have done so things that are not good for a lady. I would be happy to remind you of your faults. I can admit to the fact I was his mistress, would you be able to handle finding out the monster you were?" Ivy asked.

All Ivy needed was a chair and a cup of water to get started speaking about Layla’s horrible ways.

"I do not know why you are always so angry when you plotted with him to seduce . Did you not think it through the jealousy you would feel afterwards? I only loved him then because of the plot you two ca up together with. You two picked because I was the youngest right? I’ve always wondered if it was that or I seed so gullible," said Ivy.

Ivy didn’t know the reason they had both picked her. She was one of the younger maids. Had Hank already liked her or was it because of the way she looked? Her hair was close to the sa shade of brown as Layla but that didn’t matter since Ian ended up looking everything like Hank’s.

Layla didn’t care to answer Ivy’s question. The past didn’t matter now. It was the present she was most upset with. "I am giving you tonight to get out of my ho."

Ivy smiled as Layla failed to see what was happening these days. "Your husband took that power from you and even if he wants gone, I am not leaving. I had a good talk with the court just now and though I am not his wife, I am entitled to sothing. What should I take from you?"

"You! You are not entitled to anything. You and the court must have lost your minds. Why should we have to give you anything for you sleeping with a married man? This town cannot be so backward."

"Perhaps if I tell them that you and Hank had a plan to get a maid pregnant and then pay to send her away, they would feel that I am entitled to sothing for the trick. That and the fact I am Ian’s mother," Ivy said, slipping off her gloves as she passed Layla.

Ivy had to thank Scarlet for giving her the idea to go to the court for help. She didn’t let them know about the plot Hank and Layla had as yet. Hank wouldn’t be so happy if he found out she revealed that. "Who would have thought that the court would not like how you sent away during the ti I was to be caring for his firstborn?"

"While you don’t see him as Hank’s firstborn, the court acknowledges him as such. He might not be legitimate in the eyes of the church or the town, but you can never take away that he is Hank’s firstborn. Oh, Victor has grown to be a handso fellow."

Layla’s blood boiled from knowing Ivy had gone to her son. "You evil witch!" She called, chasing Ivy. "Is it not bad enough that you made him sick now you are so bold to visit him? I will not let you harm him," she declared, grabbing a handful of Ivy’s hair to pull her back.

Layla thought she should have done this a long ti ago. Ivy needed a good beating to know her place. As the lady of this estate, Layla was well within her right to punish the maids as she saw fit. She felt so relief in pulling on Ivy’s hair.

If she could, Layla wanted to pull out all of Ivy’s hair.

Ivy turned around to grab Layla’s hair. Layla had another thing coming if she thought she was the only one who could pull hair.

Layla scread from the pain of her hair getting yanked on. Where were the servants to co to help her? She didn’t know how but she ended up falling to the floor with Ivy on top of her. Her fingers slipped from Ivy’s hair.

Ivy pinned Layla’s hands down. "You are a lady of good birth, Layla. You do not want to fight with who knows how to swing. Do not put your hands on again or I will kill you. You must bear the consequences of your actions. Be upset with your husband. I am only here for my son."

Ivy looked away from Layla to the person she heard coming toward them. Hank was approaching them and he did not look happy. Of course, he wouldn’t be when the two won he wanted to get along with were fighting.

"Isn’t it ti that the two of you find sothing else to do with your ti? Fighting on the floor like you do not have any class. If the maids were to see you, this would spread like fire through the town. Where are the maids?" Hank wondered, noticing that it was just as empty as the second floor.

Ivy let go of Layla and stood up. "I do not know where they are, I just returned."

Hank beca suspicious as he could not rember seeing a maid for the last hour and the butler had not brought him the fresh cigar he asked for. "Instead of rolling around on the floor, find where our servants have gone. Your ti would be better spent getting our sons to return. I might have made the wrong choice," he said, looking at Ivy.

He could dress her up nicely but she still acted like soone from a lower class and Layla was so jealous that she acted below her class.
