"Let see if I get this right. You want to fight him," Ryan pointed to Ian. "While I am standing in her estate?" He pointed to Scarlet. "Normally, I would do anything for you great aunt but this I must decline."

Rue’s shoulders dropped due to disappointnt. "Why?"

Ryan had a very simple answer. "I value my life and should I hurt even a strand of his hair on his head, Scarlet looks like she would want to shoot . We all know not to question her aim with a gun. She’s had the best tutors for learning how to shoot."

Ryan considered himself fast but he couldn’t outrun bullets.

"Well, he’s not wrong. I don’t want to spend the next hour tending to any wounds Ian gets," said Scarlet.

"Why would I get a wound?" Ian asked, bringing attention to himself. "Oh right. You once said that you would see him as the winner."

"Ryan is the leader of the border and the Callahan knights. My family is well-trained when it cos to swords. Sothing that they never plan to let die out so yes, I have to place my bet on Ryan. I would still root for you," Scarlet said, trying to make up for not believing in him. "It doesn’t matter since there won’t be any fighting here today."

"I cannot be the only one who wants to see whether he speaks the truth. We’ll have to use wooden swords and stop Ryan before he cos close to killing him. Let us have so fun," Rue said, too excited to have this end now.

"You’re the only one who is having fun. You and the foolish fellow," Elijah said, glancing at Ian who was smiling for so reason. Ian was either confident in his skills or foolish since he would have to go up against Ryan which would not be an easy fight.

"Grandfather," Scarlet warned because of the nickna. "There will not be any fighting. I know that Ian can protect himself so I don’t need it to be proved. Anyone who picks up a sword or a gun in my estate will be escorted out. It doesn’t matter who they are. Should I tell my father you want to see duels again?"

Rue nervously laughed. "Now, why would you bring my son into this? You know the boy panics too much. You’re no fun, Scarlet. He would still be pretty even with a little scar from a fight."

"I want to keep him without any scars. If you want to see a duel so badly, then how about I go up against Ian?" Scarlet suggested.

"No!" Ian and Elijah exclaid.

Scarlet smiled as she expected their answers. "Good. That ans no fighting today. Don’t pout, grandmother. It makes feel like I have done sothing bad."

Rue continued to pout since her fun was ruined before it started. "You have done sothing bad but like always, it is easy to get to forgive you. Another day I will see my duel and you won’t be able to stop . Ian looked so happy that you shouldn’t have ruined it."

Rue liked Ian for his eagerness to do the fight. "My mother would have already had Ian dressed in armour and the duel ready to begin. Eli, do you rember the chaos when we shared that we would be getting married?"

Many years had passed since then but Elijah would not forget. His in-laws like him because of their close friendship with his parents but they were not thrilled about him taking Rue from the border and bringing her here.

There was much he had to do to prove that he could protect her. Thinking of this, Elijah felt a bit sorry for Ian. Ian was lucky the others were gone or he would be wearing armour and getting ready to fight Ryan.

"My father-in-law was so upset that another one of his children picked a child of his close friends. It is truly a sha that you didn’t get to et your great-grandfather. You must have a child quickly so I can et them," said Rue.

Leonard had beco boring and Scarlet was starting to lose her fun side. Rue wanted soone new to play with.

"Grandmother, please do not ask for it since I do not know if I can have one. I would not like to let the man I am currently courting but not married to be freaked out by the ntion of a child," Scarlet said, but her mind was filled with other things.

Ian had already proposed that he give her an heir for her family businesses if she needed one because he could do a better job than who she laid with. Scarlet needed her grandmother not to ntion a child so she wouldn’t have to hear about it from Ian.

"There’s sothing I can do to help you with that but I am told that the drink is awful. I hope you do not give up on the idea of having a child in the future. Don’t forget that we have plenty of dicines you can use to help you. Most have proven to work," Rue said, having seen it for herself that they worked.

"What is this about a child?" Ian questioned, interested in the conversation.

"I was reminding Scarlet about a drink we have back at ho which is to help soone who wants to have a child. The drink is awful but I wouldn’t know. My great-grandmother snuck it into Eli’s cup for him to drink. Was it that bad?" Rue asked as he was the only one to taste it.

Elijah felt the need to vomit just from the mory of the taste. "I’ve told them to stop making it."

"I would give it a try," Ian said though he didn’t think he needed any help.

Scarlet wanted to cover his mouth for saying that now. He was only going to get her grandmother excited all for nothing.

"There won’t be any babies made by anyone who is not married," Elijah warned. Who did this little bastard think he was to be thinking of a baby when he hadn’t proposed to Scarlet?

"Then, do I have your blessing to marry her-"

"That’s enough," Scarlet said, covering Ian’s mouth. "I must speak to Ian alone. Please go inside to get the drinks Florence is preparing for you to get ward up."

Scarlet didn’t wait for anyone to say sothing as she pulled Ian away from the group. What was he thinking by asking about babies and now bringing up marriage? "I should have just sent you off instead of introducing you. What were you thinking?" She asked, removing her hand from his mouth to let him speak.

Ian didn’t see the problem. "Why are you so upset, Scarlet? I have a woman that I love so babies and marriage will co up."
