"He seems to be fine. Just get so rest and don’t skip when it is ti for you to eat. I suggest seeing your usual doctor as soon as you can tomorrow. I don’t know all of your history so I am not certain what is wrong with you other than you look like you need to rest."

Ian watched from the sidelines as the doctor dealt with Victor. He was forced to wait and then listen to what the doctor had to say. There was so relief in knowing Victor had just overworked his body.

Ian didn’t want to have to bother with sending a very sick Victor back to their father or hiding the body if he were to die overnight. "So, I can send him packing as soon as dawn?"

"I would say so, but you should keep an eye on him," the doctor answered.

Victor didn’t want to leave when it ca morning. "Wouldn’t it be better that I rest up here for the next few days and then go ho? I can call my doctor here."

"If you stay here far past tomorrow, then I will be calling soone to prepare your grave. The doctor said you only need to rest so shut your eyes. Thank you for coming this late. The maid who will help you out has your paynt," Ian told the doctor.

With this taken care of, he could finally return to bed with Scarlet.

The doctor quickly packed up so he could return ho before the roads got too dark. Soon Ian was left alone with Victor.

"They are warming food up for you and will bring it when it is done. I am going to bed. Do not bother or Scarlet as I will throw you out," Ian warned.

Ian didn’t care how sick Victor might be right now. If Victor was going to play around and not rest when he was told to, why should he care about Victor’s health?

"I only wanted to enjoy the ti that you are letting stay around you. How can I sleep when it is the first ti we are in the sa ho together? There is much for us to talk about," Victor said, wanting Ian to stay just a little longer.

Ian tried not to give in to his thoughts to hit Victor. "You ignored your body’s warnings that you needed rest which then disturbed the night I had planned with Scarlet and now you want to stay awake after being told to rest. Do you need to hit you hard enough for you to go to sleep right away?"

"It’s hard to get her out of her estate. I swear if you leave this bed I will hit you so hard that you sleep forever. Good night," Ian said, ready to leave. "Annoy another day."

Victor’s mood changed. "That ans I can visit you again and you’ll accept ?"

"Yes sure," Ian replied as he walked to the door. Victor might be t by a closed gate that wouldn’t open should he show up another day.

Victor laid back on the bed now that he knew he had other days to see Ian. He could rest knowing that this wouldn’t be the only ti he would be here. "Good night Ian."

Ian returned to the second floor to his bedroom where Scarlet was without him. She was a traitor, leaving him to have to bear with Victor alone.

When he opened the bedroom door, he found Scarlet fast asleep at the edge of the bed. He was hoping that she would be lying awake regretting her decision to leave him downstairs but no, Scarlet looked to be sleeping peacefully.

"How cruel," Ian said, hurt that she didn’t need him. He was much better of a companion than the pillow beside her.

"I told you to be with your brother. Have you left an injured man alone?" Scarlet asked, opening her eyes.

His footsteps were too loud and she heard the door when it opened. It was both a blessing and a curse to haave a talent to pick up on movent around her.

"He isn’t injured. He only needs to rest and if I am near, then he won’t go to sleep. I am hurt that after the good day we had, you don’t want to end it with lying beside you. I keep questioning if I am treating you well enough since you do not seem to miss . Tell it isn’t so, Scarlet," said Ian.

Ian went to the bed and joined Scarlet. Before he went to his side of the bed, he trapped her beneath him.

"Your brother is here. I thought that was more important than you coming here. You do treat well now go to bed," Scarlet answered then waited for Ian to roll over to his side.

"It would have been nice to have you say more complints but I will take that for now," Ian said as he moved to the right to lie beside Scarlet.

He didn’t give her the chance to turn away from him as he pulled her toward his chest.

For a mont, Scarlet felt like she was being suffocated by how close he wanted her to lay on him.

"Ian, the chances of soone coming here to steal from this bed are low. You don’t have to hold like I will disappear," said Scarlet.

As tight as he was holding onto her, it didn’t feel bad. She only needed him to know that she wouldn’t just leave the bed without telling him.

"There is soone crazy enough to try coming here to steal you, but I want to hold you just because I like it. And you like it. Why is your hand there?" Ian asked, once more turned on by just her touching him.

"That was an accident. Whose fault is it that I don’t have much room to move around my hand? As big as this bed, you have us sleeping at the edge of it because you are needy. Honestly, you are more like Victor than you realise," Scarlet sighed.

Victor always wanted to be near Ian and Ian always wanted to be near her.

"What are you doing now? There’s no way of knowing where Noelle is unless you capture Layla or your father and torture the answer out of them. You won’t get answers if you avoid them," Scarlet advised Ian.

"I know. That’s why I am going to make my return to the Kingsley estate with Victor tomorrow," Ian revealed. For a short ti, he would play the role of a son eager to be his father’s heir.

It was unavoidable that he had to go back there to end his plans for revenge.
