Li Tianyao pinched her earlobe and said, "Don’t get your hopes up too high. Think about Gu Shifang’s mindset—expecting death if he’s captured. How could he possibly send his n to rescue Li Yanluo?"
"On the other hand, Gu Shifang wouldn’t let Li Yanluo know too many of his secrets, so there’s no real need to kill her either."
An Yan said, "But I still want to try. What if it works?"
"Alright. Let’s give it a try."
The man complied with her wishes.
"Right, where is that isolation place you’ve prepared for yourself?"
"Why do you ask?"
Li Tianyao was unwilling to let An Yan know the location. Or rather, he didn’t want her to see him when he was completely mad.
"I want to take you there!" An Yan looked at him earnestly. "If I can’t help you, at least let know where you are."
"There’s no rush. Your priority right now is to focus all your efforts on developing the Antidote!"
Li Tianyao took out a glass bottle and handed it to her.
"You got it?"
An Yan was imdiately overjoyed. She took the bottle, held it up to the light, and examined it. She had always imagined the Golden Thread Worm would be thread-like, but to her surprise, it was a beetle with several golden stripes on its back. It was about the size of a pinky fingernail.
"This is the Golden Thread Worm?"
She saw that Li Tianyao was clean and tidy, looking like he didn’t want her to know where he had been, and had assud he hadn’t found the Golden Thread Worm.
"Mhm."
An Yan placed the bottle in a box, sprayed Li Tianyao’s hands with alcohol, then her own, before continuing, "I still want to take you to a safe place first, then I can take my ti researching this thing."
"You think capturing Gu Shifang and Li Yanluo ans we’re safe?" Li Tianyao rubbed her earlobe. "Little girl, don’t forget, there’s still Gu Xiu and Buddha! Gu Xiu is from Country R, and Buddha is his superior. Moreover, they likely have close ties with Gu Shifang."
Li Tianyao had been to Country R before and had learned many details he hadn’t noticed in the past. If it weren’t for the sudden trouble on his little girl’s side, he would have wanted to stay in Country R a bit longer to sort out those clues.
"What did you find out in Country R?"
"Only that Country R has a classified research project. And this project is very likely the Living Dead! Plus, Country R is to the east."
An Yan had previously calculated that Gu Xiu had fled to the southeast.
"Are you planning to go to Country R?"
Li Tianyao said, "I won’t feel at ease until I drag them out."
An Yan understood his aning. "But you could fall ill at any mont, Li Tianyao. You can go to the isolation place first, and leave Gu Xiu and Buddha to !"
Li Tianyao laughed. "Are you afraid they’re planning sothing big against again?"
An Yan nodded. "Yes. You said they might be researching the Living Dead. But is that all they’re doing? They must be trying to create another human experint like you, right? If they can’t make one, they’ll definitely co after you. So, as long as you hide, they’ll be stuck."
"They’ll capture you to force out!" Li Tianyao said. "And you can’t hide with . Even if you could, your family couldn’t! So, little girl, hiding isn’t the solution!"
"But..."
Li Tianyao lifted her hand and kissed her fingers. "Don’t worry, I know my body well. Based on past experience, once my eyes turn this color, I should last at least another six months."
"So, little girl, wait until I’ve captured Gu Xiu and Buddha, then you can take to the isolation place, alright?"
An Yan nodded.
If Gu Xiu and Buddha aren’t dealt with, it’s not just her and her family who will constantly be in danger. Who knows what else those antisocial bastards are capable of?
"Don’t bla , little girl!"
He bent down to kiss her nose, eyes, and mouth, drawing her down into a world of sensory delight.
He was afraid. Afraid she would suddenly realize he was the source of all this danger. Afraid she would get angry, bla him, and ignore him. He’d thought he could control everything, just like before. Thought he could protect her perfectly. If he had known that being with her would put her in danger, then he... would still never have let go! After so many years, this was the first girl who had ever moved his heart. No matter how great the danger, he would do everything in his power to shield her from it! Ultimately, little girl was his, and he wouldn’t let anyone hurt her!
An Yan was so clever; she understood everything the mont he spoke. If this were the past, she could have simply turned and walked away. She wouldn’t want this danger! But now, the re thought of being separated from him left her heart feeling hollow. How could any couple’s journey together be completely without storms?
"We’ll just face it together, hand in hand!" An Yan whispered in his ear, "For our happiness!"
The man’s urgent movents stopped. Propping himself up on his arms, he created so distance and gazed at her intently with his grey eyes.
She understood, but she didn’t mind!
An Yan also looked at him.
It had to be said, he truly was one of heaven’s favored; even the change in his eye color didn’t diminish his good looks in the slightest!
"Li Tianyao, you’re so handso!" An Yan reached up, circled his neck, and leaned in to give him a gentle kiss on the lips.
The man’s body stiffened noticeably, and then, like a storm, his passion engulfed An Yan. She gave him an inch, and he returned her a mile!
As soon as the two of them got ho, the al was already prepared. Little Squirrel had contributed a great deal this ti, so Li Tianyao wasn’t as averse to it as before.
Seeing the two getting ready to eat, it imdiately hopped over, sat on the dining table, and waited with a cocky air of expectation for An Yan to prepare its food.
Li Tianyao glanced at it, grabbed it, and tossed it into its own nest nearby. Surrounding the nest were all kinds of its half-eaten nuts!
The Little Squirrel, having landed in the pile of nuts, was utterly outraged! It sprang up to stand on the roof of its little house, SQUEAKING indignantly and gesticulating wildly at Li Tianyao.
What was he doing? Was this any way to treat such a great hero?
Li Tianyao turned to An Yan and asked, "You say it understands your words, but you don’t understand what it’s saying, right?"
An Yan’s eyes lit up. "Yeah, do you have a solution?"
"I do."
Li Tianyao gave Little Squirrel a cold glance and then strode out. Monts later, he returned with a tablet in his hand.
An Yan had thought it was so high-tech device capable of translating animal language into human language, but it turned out to be a learning tablet.
"Starting today, have it learn with the tablet. If it learns a hundred characters a day, in about a month, it should grasp the three thousand commonly used ones. Afterwards, you can have it write to you!"
An Yan was rendered speechless. Little Squirrel seed equally flabbergasted. The poor creature was completely stunned.
A few seconds later, it took a small step to the side with its short legs, then a few seconds after that, another small step. Then, with a leap, it darted towards the door.
Fine, it wouldn’t get on the table if it wasn’t wanted! It was a big squirrel now, not so little baby who couldn’t leave its mother!
But just as it reached the door, a large hand caught it.
