[KIA]

That night, Rukiya didn't sleep. She had tossed and turned one too many tis but she was plagued with the thought of how she would explain to Hawi why she had done what she had done back then.

It was ant to be a sacrifice but with the pain she had felt from Hawi earlier, Rukiya knew that her sacrifice had only cost Hawi more than it had saved her. It was the kind that had ruined the life it had been ant to ease, and she wondered what Hawi thought of that.

For years she had been alone to think of what had happened and Ruru knew that Hawi still hadn't found the answer to that.

Hell, how could she, when Rukiya herself was still reeling with the after-effects of a deal she had made, a deal that had made her Hawi's life horrible instead of making her life better?

It had been made to make Hawi live her life and instead, the wild girl had spent three long centuries mourning the love of her life, a girl she had lost in the unkindest of ways.

"Give the girl back to her family. No need for theatrics right now and don't you dare to say she is mine cause we both know she isn't. Pay the mother with a quarter of the gold stash in the reservoir, and tell her the crown regrets what she had been forced to do.

"Make sure to give the child a lifeti of supplies or so help , you won't like what I do with you. Also, I'm leaving for Sicario in an hour. Feel free to join but don't you even think of stopping …

"... because I'll send that damned woman you pray to a blended mix of your flesh and bones," Rukiya said at the breakfast table that she usually shared with Kadiam, Dumi and the council mbers form the other packs except for Sicario.

She hadn't thought that the arrangent had been absurd before, but right now she would burn them all if they dared to stand in her way and they knew that too. The table went silent even as gasps were heard.

None of them thought that this was possible in such a short ti and they hated the way that she had caught too fast with their concocted lies. Then again, she was Rukiya Greyson, the girl mated to the most powerful woman.

Perhaps they thought that this was just a joke she was playing with them but in all her years at the palace, they had never heard her talk about the girl like that. It was almost like they were able to convince her that the firm was hers.

"Your majesty… perhaps we should have a talk about that. The girl is your child, why would you truly want us to give her away? And for Sicario… There are no activities that require your attention there. Everything is ready and they have already sent back the reports.

"If you need to go there then I can do that instead of troubling you with the long three-day journey," Kadiam began carefully.

Wolves were never able to create portals and that was the kind of information he was banking on especially since Ruru was supposed to rember that she was just another wolf and not an immortal partner of the devil herself.

This was not the ti for Rukiya to leave the palace and they knew it because she had made the people of the new Sicario suffer with the demands she had been making over the years, and now that Hawi was back in the realm, Hawi would kill her no doubt.

Or at least that was what they were apparently supposed to be acting at the mont. This was insanity and they had to feed their amnesia queen because otherwise they would just be reduced to annoying sand on her feet.

"I won't say it again, Kadiam. I have no difficulty in taking your life myself for all the pain that you lot made my baby go through. You can either co with peacefully, or you can burn in your precious Olyana.

"Don't even think of trying to stop because you won't succeed in defeating ," Rukiya said calmly before adding, "You have an hour to think while I make myself pretty for my mate."

The silence that followed the Queen's departure from the breakfast table was insanely heavy.

No one had thought that the queen was very able to get to that point with them.

They had been confident about their plans and what the goddess had instructed them to ask but even they knew that it was just a matter of ti before the fates tilted and the realm would have its real queen back.

Perhaps this was happening a little too fast, but then again, they knew that with Hawi back in the realm, erasing Rukiya's mory again would be pointless because Hawi's presence would never let that happen.

The bond they shared with each other was too powerful and strong when they were in the sa realm. It was sothing that they couldn't fight but what if they tried? Would it ever be worth it?

"She can't have rembered, right?" One of the council mbers who benefited the most from Rukiya's amnesia spoke his words in a low tone, worried that the woman would really co and burn him to death for speaking like that.

The mory wipe was easily the most effective thing that had happened on this side of the realm, and while it had been manageable because of Hawi's absence they couldn't deny that the benefits had been insane for their packs.

Perhaps that was why they were all in disbelief as this was definitely not going to make their lives any better. They were screwed.

"We all knew that such a day would eventually co. We have the asures in place to put her down if she can't conform to what we want her to be," another council mber said and the rest nodded in agreent.

It was like they were intentionally denying the fact that Hawi would ruin them if they so much as tried to ss with what was hers.

They were signing up for a death sentence just because they didn't dare to face their damned realities and the fact that the devil had co back and wouldn't play about her mate.

They were insane for that, really and it was truly pitiful watching them agree with each other like a bunch of idiots when the realm was the one place that they were ever going to be safe in, especially with Hawi's return.

"The Salvadors are not a match for Hawi and Rukiya together. That is a failed plan already and you need to think about your safety and that of your people. If Rukiya Greyson rembers what we did to her, then we might as well jump into the fire.

"The won brought down the Russels, the greatest thorns in the supernatural team. They did what no one had managed to do in tens of thousands of years and suddenly you are confident about what this could be for Rukiya Alone?" Dumi said with a disbelieving laugh.
