Chapter 306: The War that Decides the Fate of 'The Bridge' Part 109
Death.
Destruction.
Chaos.
Those three were just the few out of the many aftermath brought by war.
As the war issued, countless bodies lie on the ground unconscious or lifeless from both the side of the Green Horn City and Assembly of Freedom after getting caught by the continous onslaught of siege weapons.
Neverthless, the war strongly continued as the Green Horn City continued pushing the Assembly of Freedom to the north.
Rumble!
Finally, the wall constructed by the Freedom Fang Brigade ca crashing down as it was destroyed by the soldiers of the Green Horn City.
"Charge!" Chief Kash exclaid along with Chief Harlem and Chief Perceval who took position at the forefront of the army.
In the next mont, countless soldiers of the Green Horn City started climbing on top of the remains of the wall and started engaging in close quarter combat against the Assembly of Freedom.
anwhile, Friedrich and his group that dropped from the top of the flying Green Horn City continued bringing havoc right in the center of the enemy's formation, but as ti goes by, their effect started slowly diminishing as their comrades started retreating to the south or unluckily getting killed in action.
Eventually, Friedrich and the others stopped their battle and swiftly retreated south, to the incoming army of the Green Horn City and joined in with the majority of the soldiers.
As a result, the Assembly of Freedom were left with no other choice but to continue retreating north.
"Where are the Assembly Knights?" One of the soldiers from the Assembly of Freedom can't help asking.
The Assembly Knights were the only group who could possibly change the course of the battle and perhaps make it a fair stand off between the Green Horn City and the Assembly of Freedom.
But where exactly are the Assembly Knights?
That is indeed a big question.
However, no matter how many people from the Assembly of Freedom asks, they will never get the answer to where the Assembly Knights are right now.
That's because with Wesley in the Dream Village, Christopher under Kayn's charm, and Maria being secretly allied to the Green Horn City, one of their biggest trump card is left with only three mbers, thus giving both Maria and Christopher the biggest opportunity and chance in defeating the remaining mbers of the Assembly Knights, Patter and Lecter.
Maria and Christopher's only threat is Magnus, but because there's no one who knows where exactly the latter is and that there hasn't been any clue of him being close in the Slumbering Forest until now, thus the two remaining mbers of the Assembly Knights are most likely busy fending off for themselves at this very mont from death.
Moreover, the other two noteworthy squads, respectively the Liberty Squad and Freedom Rule, are currently contending against Friedrich and the rest of the Green Horn Knights at this mont.
And with Kayn and his n eliminating the entire Freedom Fighters yesterday, the soldiers of the Assembly of Freedom can only hope that their five Brigades can change their current situation, or at least the three because the Revolutionary Brigade is back at their headquarters while the Freedom Wings Brigade is still nowhere to be seen after they discovered Wesley has betrayed the Assembly of Freedom.
With that being said, the Green Horn City is currently fighting against the Freedom Fang Brigade, Liberty Fire Brigade, and Unity Circle Brigade. And as for the respective major general of the three Brigade, naly Garvin, Moie, and Marlon, they are contending against Chief Kash, Chief Harlem, and Chief Perceval. While their respective deputies are fighting against the personal Knights of the three Chiefs.
The situation right just simply proves that the quality of soldiers of the Green Horn City are both more powerful and superior compared to the soldiers of the Assembly of Freedom.
Honestly, that doesn't co much surprising for the soldiers of the Green Horn City. Taking out of consideration the preparation the Green Horn City and Kayn's group has put into the Slumbering Forest, the mbers of the Assembly of Freedom are pretty much just a bunch of ragtag criminals and people with no other places to go after committing a cri.
Even though the soldiers of the Assembly of Freedom undergo so form of training from powerful people like Garvin, Moei, and Marlon, comparing their soldiers with the properly trained and organized n from the Green Horn City still doesn't do the forr any justice. This is like allowing a cackle of hyenas fight against a pride of lions.
All of a sudden, hundreds of people ca out of the forest to the west.
"Watch out, more mbers of the Assembly of Freedoming coming from our west!" Old Mayor George warned.
This ti, hundreds of ordinary mbers of the Assembly of Freedom suddenly launch a surprise attack, hoping to change the current situation of the war.
Unfortunately, they were even more weaker than the three Brigades of the Assembly of Freedom as they didn't even undergo any proper military training to begin with.
At the very least though, the new arriving reinforcent from the Assembly of Freedom were able to bring the battle into a stalemate, finally halting their retreat to the north.
"Is that part of your plan?" Old Mayor George scoffed at Chief Kylo after seeing that the Assembly of Freedom needed more sacrifices and cannon fodder in order to help them bring the battle into a stalemate. Moreover, this was just a temporary stalemate, because as the number of their ordinary mbers continued to dwindle down, things would beco disadvantageous for them once again.
"The end justifies the ans," Chief Kylo wasn't the type to easily get affected by moral codes. In the first place, the Assembly of Freedom doesn't follow any rules as they operate simply in the basis of fear and chaos.
"To achieve victory by sacrificing the majority of your mbers. Can you even call that a victory?" Old Mayor George shook his head. If Chief Kylo's father was still alive, he would be dissapointed at the latter for his strategy. But on second thought, nobody is really stopping anyone from doing whatever they want in a war, including sacrificng their soldiers.
