"Little Uncle?" Hearing the call, Lu Beichen montarily spaced out. Seeing Gu Xiyao at the door, he felt another pang of loss.
His expression was etched on his weary and haggard face at this mont. Gu Xiyao witnessed it and swallowed hard, carrying a bouquet into the room.
Lu Beichen remained unmoved, holding the hand of the petite woman in silence.
His broad back always seed so imposing. When she used to follow behind him, Gu Xiyao always felt that with this wall of protection, no matter how big or nurous the difficulties were, she wouldn’t feel afraid at all.
But now, this wall that protected her was surrounding soone else, growing ever more solid.
Gu Xiyao took a deep breath before she walked over and placed the bouquet aside. Then she softly asked, "When will Tongtong wake up? What did the doctor say?"
She stood aside, frowning, her usual aloof expression replaced with concern. Lu Beichen glanced at her and replied calmly, "Excessive blood loss in the head has led to oxygen deprivation in the brain. At best, she could wake up in about a week, or worst... "
Lu Beichen did not continue, only saying, "I want to spend so ti alone with Tongtong."

At this mont, Gu Xiyao couldn’t bother with so many concerns. She pushed open the door and walked in, slightly stunned to see Qiao Anlu sitting inside. She watched as Qiao Anlu tried to push a peeled apple to Lu Sinian’s mouth, saying, "Little Nian Nian, handso little guy, have a bite, will you? Give your aunt a little face, okay?"
She kept winking at Lu Sinian, wriggling on the bed without a hint of shyness.
