Tu Yingying was originally lying on the ground as if barely alive. Upon hearing the sound of the door opening, she imdiately ca back to life. Seeing Tu ijiao and Lu Xinguo enter, she was overjoyed and almost crawled and rolled to throw herself at Tu ijiao’s feet, clutching her pants leg in supplication.
"Aunt, you’re here? I knew you wouldn’t abandon . Did you co to plead on my behalf? Can I continue to live here?"
She glanced around this room, which was originally hers, with the furnishings still as they were when she left, "Aunt, my room hasn’t been changed at all; it’s still my room, right?"
She lay on the ground, pleading, more pitiful than a beggar. Tu ijiao closed her eyes and said, "Get up, what kind of behavior is this? You’ve embarrassed the Tu Family!"
Tu Yingying looked down at herself, then quickly got up, but she lay back down again because her stomach hurt. She almost cried out but then forced a smile, "Aunt, I don’t want to be like this. My stomach hurts so much. Brother Beichen might not have been careful and kicked too hard. Aunt, could you help to the bed and get a doctor? I’m really unwell; Aunt, I’m so miserable."
Seeing her so wretched, Tu ijiao turned her face away, unable to bear the sight. She hadn’t expected Lu Beichen to be so ruthless, but considering Beichen’s skills, just a kick was already holding back.
Tu Yingying saw that Tu ijiao remained silent and quickly tugged at Lu Xinguo’s pants leg, "Uncle, could you call a doctor for ? Please?"
Initially, that kick did leave her weak, but after lying there for so long, she had mostly recovered. She was trying to win Tu ijiao’s sympathy; however, she remained silent.
"Aunt, are you just going to ignore my plight? When my mother was dying, you promised to take care of ," Tu Yingying started to cry again.
"Shut up!" Tu ijiao shouted, "You’re audacious enough to ntion your mother. If it weren’t for your disobedience, how would she have ended up that way? If it weren’t for your disobedience, why would you be in this situation now?"
"Aunt, what do you an? Are you blaming ?" Tu Yingying stopped crying and swallowed hard. She looked up at Tu ijiao with a woeful expression.
Tu ijiao still wouldn’t look at her, "How many tis have I told you not to act recklessly, but you crossed Lu Beichen’s bottom line directly. I’ve told you a long ti ago that he’s not the man you should be infatuated with. Yet, you kept chasing him. Look where that got you—to the point where the Lu Family almost severed ties with the Tu Family! Do you know how much damage that would cause the Tu Family? Fortunately, it’s not too late now. Behave for the Tu Family, and I’ll ask your father to treat you better and let you join the Tu Company. Then you can prove yourself..."
"What good is proving myself? Father doesn’t like ; my elder and second brothers have already secured their positions in the Tu Company. Over the years, you’ve sided with and made things tough for them. Will they even treat nicely if I join?"
Tu Yingying asked coldly, and Tu ijiao suddenly felt she wasn’t that naive child anymore. Her heart trembled slightly, but she still said, "They’re still your biological brothers."
"But not from the sa mother!" Tu Yingying laughed, "I’m an illegitimate daughter from a mistress; how can I be fine in the Tu Family? It was you who told I was a little princess, that I could do whatever I wanted. You made like this, making enemies everywhere, and now you’re abandoning too?"
Tu ijiao felt a chill in her heart; was she blaming her?
