(I didn't expect to et Esie here. I even managed to recruit her into my organization.)
Esie Aerin, a race called Elf. Not even just an ordinary Elf but a High Elf, the highest-ranking race among the Elves.
Esie was one of the colleagues I could rely on in episode 1. We both swore allegiance to the sa person.
"Get to the point, what do you want to do?"
Esie with the sa sullen expression as in episode 1 asked .
"I want to destroy that slave market."
"What!"
Esie looked very surprised but naturally, destroying this slave market was the sa as going against Pietro's family.
"Do you realize what you're saying! That slave market is directly sponsored by the Pietro family."
"Of course I know, but do you want to let this go? You want to save them too, don't you?"
"..."
Eise was silent and showed no change in expression but I knew she was thinking of destroying the slave market as well. Most Elves were also sold in the slave market, so the Esie I knew wouldn't tolerate that.
"You accepted this guarding mission to free your people, right?"
"..."
Although Esie didn't answer but I knew she understood, so I continued with my plan.
"First of all, I want you to keep working as the guardian of the slave market."
"Do you want the floor plan of the place?"
(As usual, Esie and I always had the sa thoughts.)
"Yes, it will be very useful to find the best way to destroy this slave market to its roots."
(It would be very troubleso if anyone managed to escape at that ti.)
"But how long do you want to be infiltrating?"
If you think about the current strength it is very difficult in the near future but there are so ways to speed it up.
"4 months. I need 4 months to prepare everything I need, at least I need that much ti if I want to destroy a big and powerful place like this."
"..."
Esie looked speechless, did she want to destroy this place as soon as possible? But with the current conditions 4 months is my best limit.
".... Are you kidding ?"
"??"
"How can you think of destroying this slave market so quickly! Even from your previous explanation, our mbers are just children. Do you want to send them to their deaths."
Unlike what I expected, Esie was actually angry that it was too soon. It seed like she thought I was moving too hastily.
(That's right, the current Esie has never cooperated with . If it were anyone else it might be true that it's impossible to attack this slave market in 4 months, but if it's who's making the plans then it's not impossible.)
"Relax, you just need to trust and wait. When you wake up, all the problems will be solved right away."
"...Haa... Okay. What can I do if that's what the boss says."
"Pfft..."
"Why are you laughing!"
"Sorry, I'm just a little surprised to hear that word from you. "
"What's so funny! What should I call you then? Ah, I haven't heard your na."
"That's right, I forgot to introduce myself. You can call , Ravendor."
"A fake na?"
(Got caught right away huh?)
I was a little confused as to whether I should ntion my true identity but it would be very dangerous. It's not that I don't trust Eisei but quite the opposite.
I don't want Eisei to be too closely related to because I don't want to bring Eisei into my plans.
Eisei had a bad relationship with the otherworldly people in episode 1, so at least I want in this episode she won't get involved with them again. After all, in the future I need to defeat otherworldly people because of the mission of the system so eting them is unavoidable.
"Well, I don't care about your na either. As long as you keep our promise then I'm not asking for anything."
Seeing that I didn't answer, Eisei decided to let it go. As usual, she was too kind to people she just t to be at least a little suspicious.
(But I'm grateful for the attention.)
"Then I'll be right back, I'll be suspected if I don't co back soon."
Eise covered her head with the veil again and prepared to leave but I stopped her imdiately.
"Wait a minute!"
"Is there anything else?"
I took a paper from my pocket and wrote the coordinates of a place on it.
"Take this, this is the location of our headquarters. You just need to drain the mana in the place I gave you instructions. You have to give a report every three days, report anything even unimportant things. You may leave."
"..."
Even though I had allowed her to leave but she was still silent with a surprised expression.
"You turn into a different person when talking about things like this."
(Ah...)
I subconsciously started to go into work mode. I always go into this mode whenever it cos to administrative work or work related to paperwork.
In the first episode, in order to overco the family crisis as the new head of the Wolfled family. I had to work overti for days taking care of the paperwork back then, even though I was only 16 years old. Even after I was sold as a slave and bought by 'She', I still often t with paperwork.
So I always went into work mode whenever dealing with paperwork.
"Is it too confusing?"
Eisei shook his head and smiled a little.
"I'm just a little surprised. It's just that I'm surprised you can express like that, I thought you could only express by acting but it seems I was wrong."
(Expression? Is my expression always acting?)
As I was confused by Eisei's words, Eisei walked away.
"I understand, boss. I'll leave first, see you in three days."
And with that, Eisei disappeared into the darkness of the night.
...
After that I returned to the base, I wandered around and found Johan who was still practicing with the sword I gave him.
I took so water from the kitchen and gave it to Johan.
"Have so drink, you must be tired of practicing all the ti."
"Ah, Mr. Ravendor, you're back."
"Looks like you've been practicing well as I instructed."
"Yes! I want to be strong soon and be a force for you."
"I see."
I don't know why Johan's loyalty is getting stronger by the day, even though I haven't done anything. It was good that I had gained his trust so quickly but this speed made a little worried.
"Have you studied what I wrote?"
1 week ago I gave her a book containing various basic swordmanship techniques and skills. The average person would need at least a year to master such skills. In my case, due to lack of talent it took almost 2 years to master the basic skills alone.
So no matter how great or genius soone is, it's impossible for soone to master the basic swordmanship skills in a week, so I just gave a little hoot to see Johan's reaction. But the answer I got was very different...
"Yes, a few ago I mastered it."
"Eh? No, you don't have to lie, I won't get mad at you."
"But I'm serious Mr. Ravendor, then..."
Johan moved away from slightly and picked up his sword once more and then assud the basic stance of swordsmanship.
(Are you kidding, what kind of perfect stance is that...)
Then Johan started swinging his sword with a move that I used to use a lot as a kid and needed to fight until I bled but it took almost 2 years to really master it but just now a kid who had only studied swordsmanship for 1 week managed to pass my struggle.
(Crazy, did I just see the birth of a genius in history?)
"How is Mr. Ravendor?"
"..."
"Sir?"
"Ah, yes. I see, you're great to be able to master that in just one week."
I patted Johan on the head and he looked happy.
(At this rate, I won't have to worry about strong personnel. In 4 months, this kid will develop very quickly.)
Even so, I still need additional mbers, it's still impossible to destroy the slave market with just the three of us. I have to look for other mbers.
But at the current pace in another 2 months, we can destroy the Thorn Spider organization.
In another 2 months, Johan should be able to fight against ...
Suddenly a strange feeling ca over ...
I knew that I had no talent in fighting since I was a child, back then I even lost to a very young Hel in sparring practice with a wooden sword. Since then I've always avoided fighting.
Even so, this world is a world where strength is very important, especially as a Wolfled. Having been born with a body with no talent in combat, I made up for that deficiency with my intelligence, but I found out one day that such tricks don't work in front of a genius.
Since then I have always hated geniuses but that was when I was a child and I have made peace with my situation.
So I know very well that the feeling that grew from was not envy or hatred but sothing more burning.
(I can't lose to my students.)
This is a feeling that has long been lost to , the feeling of competition.
"Johan, I have to go back soon."
"Are you going ho already?"
"Yes, I'll prepare a book for you next. Until then you should rest well."
"I understand!"
I didn't know that my eyes were burning red that day on the way back ho.
