After a mont, to lessen the awkwardness, David took the initiative and said, "But since Elizabeth is so outstanding, if there’s a chance to get to know her better in the future, maybe I could consider it."
"No need for you to consider; I’ve made up my mind. You two don’t suit each other; you’re just a Scum Dragon," Attilicia objected.
I’m just a young dragon, David thought to himself. I haven’t even started to be scum yet.
He said nothing more.
Attilicia had already set the stage with a lot of preamble, so he had no choice but to co straight to the point and ask, "So, if a civil war really does break out among the High Elves in the future, you would probably intervene, right?"
"Of course." How could David miss such a good opportunity to make money?
"Then who do you plan to help?"
David didn’t even bother to think before he replied directly, "Of course, I’ll help whoever pays more!"
"You!" Attilicia felt like he was about to explode with anger at his Red Dragon son. It seed all his previous words had gone in one ear and out the other.
"Can’t you change back into the Silver Dragon or your previous Alchemist’s High Elf form?" David imdiately changed the subject.
"I can’t."
"Why not? Don’t you know that your current appearance is very likely to provoke cris?"
"At least in this form, Pafila can’t do anything to ."
David imdiately sneered. How naive he is, David thought. In his current Drow form, he could actually be played with in even more ways!
Suddenly, he was taken aback. "Are you going to co back to the Old Continent with ?"
Where did he get the courage to face Mother? David wondered.
Attilicia, however, declared with a heroic look, "Yes, no matter what, I must go to the Old Continent to see for myself how Tania is doing.
"If her mother is not treating her well...
"I will take her away."
David shook his head speechlessly, facing his Silver Dragon father who was bent on throwing himself into the net. He resolutely decided to let go of his dragon-savior complex and respect his dragon’s fate.
No longer bringing up the topic, David pressed a claw into the ground and, using the Authority of ’Arrogance,’ pulled out a stone shovel to throw to Attilicia.
"What for?" Seeing his son wasn’t stopping his impulsive actions at all, Attilicia imdiately beca sowhat panicked.
"What else? For digging graves!"
David urged, "Hurry up. After we’re done here, we’ll head straight back to the Old Continent."
As the grave was dug up, the stone sarcophagus containing the Barbarian’s body was revealed. David jabbed his tail into the crevice and directly flipped open the Barbarian Rosinde’s coffin lid.
Both father and son poked their heads over at the sa ti, montarily stupefied as they looked at the Barbarian’s headless body, which had not yet completely decomposed. This was their first ti doing sothing like digging up a grave, and both had the sa dumbstruck expression before turning their heads and starting to heave.
It wasn’t that they had never seen a corpse before. But the sll was overwhelming for their sensitive dragon noses. It was a mix of the Barbarian’s lifeti without baths, whatever weird stuff he ate before dying, all combined with a year of decay sealed up.
"Father... the resurrection is up to you, ha. I’ve been asleep for a year and desperately need to replenish so food!"
Having said that, David fled like a husky breaking free from its leash, disappearing into the wild forest outside the valley in the blink of an eye.
"...At least help lift him out! Hey!" Attilicia, left all alone, was furious and began to curse as he took on the thankless and dirty task.
But mid-curse, Attilicia suddenly froze. Did that damn brat just call father!?
Having been reunited for so long, this was the first ti Attilicia had heard his wayward child willingly call him father. His heart, which felt as if it had been encased in ice, began to lt. Consequently, even his handling of the Barbarian’s corrupt, headless corpse beca much gentler.
Several hours later, Attilicia finally completed the preparations for the Resurrection Spell. A dazzling magical light surged into the sky. The Barbarian’s decaying body, which had been reduced to skin and bones, inflated like a balloon. It reverted to its pre-death state, and even the head David had nibbled away grew back.
However, as the Barbarian faintly opened his eyes, the first thing he saw was a Drow looking at him with an expression of ’maternal radiance and a spring-like charm.’ Rosinde, his mind still in disarray from just being resurrected, thought, Have I been captured by a Drow?
Having heard plenty about the Drow from the Dragon Lord and two other Drow, Rosinde even thought he was about to be violated! Initially, he intended to refuse, but the Drow before him... He’s truly beautiful and sexy, Rosinde thought. Since I’m strong and healthy, why not just give in?
But then he rembered Mona, with whom he had just been watching a movie. Rosinde imdiately slapped his own face and grabbed the dragon-tooth double-blade, which had been buried with him as a funerary object, to strike at the confused Attilicia.
"Die, Drow!!!" Rosinde roared. "Don’t even think about touching a single hair of !
"Every one of my beautiful leg hairs belongs to...
"My love! Mona!!!
"AAAAAHHHHHH!"
Endless Rage
David had satisfied his hunger in the forest. He returned to the graveyard, drawn by the familiar ’Barbarian King’s Roar.’ There, he was shocked to see his resurrected chief retainer bound to his own coffin lid with the chains of the Banishnt Blade. The Barbarian was undergoing a ’severe torture’ from an enraged Attilicia.
This Silver Dragon Priest, for so reason, seed to have a vendetta against the Barbarian’s leg hairs, using Tasha’s Corrosive Brew to administer hair removal. Each painful RIP brought sha to the fearless Barbarian’s face, as tears of sorrow stread down.
On the side, the Winter Wolf, unable to bear looking directly, covered his eyes with his paws, whimpering in shared sorrow with his master.
"..." David, who was still carrying a bear paw in his mouth intended to appease his Silver Dragon father, was absolutely dumbfounded by the scene. What in the world is going on here?
Seeing that Attilicia, his rage unappeased, was about to finish depilating the Barbarian and was now dragging the noisy Winter Wolf over, seemingly ready to remove the fur from the ’spectating’ pup as well, David hurriedly intervened.
The Barbarian’s leg hair was dispensable. However, the entire realm had now entered a little ice age due to the Dragon Mother’s earth-shaking anger. Without its fur, the Winter Wolf might not even survive!
After finally stopping the seething Attilicia, David turned to the resurrected Barbarian and asked solemnly, "How was it? What were your experiences in the afterlife? Do you feel like you’ve forgotten anything?"
He listened as the Barbarian, now bereft of his beautiful leg hair, took a mont before answering earnestly, "Dragon Lord! What you said was true! I really went to a pitch-dark place, and I t Mona and my deceased tribespeople there. We were eating popcorn and drinking Coke together, watching that movie you ntioned about the Red Dragon doing whatever it pleased. Everything was fine, except that movie was way too short! If only it had been longer."
Perhaps seeing that his Dragon Lord didn’t seem pleased, he hastily added, "Short was also quite good! Quite a novelty! My brothers and I watched it over and over; we don’t even know how many tis."
But Rosinde failed to notice Attilicia behind him, who already had both hands on his face in an expression reminiscent of ’The Scream’. David Uthos actually succeeded! Attilicia thought. With mortal strength, he twisted the rules of life and death! Who can tell what in the world is going on? Could it be that my son, only seven years old, has truly attained divinity and achieved Demigod status? Even if he might be the weakest Demigod in the world, he has already attained divinity! How far off are the days when he will outclass his frail old father!?
