"Hold up!" I wasn’t gonna take that lying down. I grabbed her arm and snapped, ’Are you blind? Apologize!"
No sooner had I said that than her friend ca running over, calling, "Nicole!"
Nicole glanced at her approaching friend, then shook off my hand, "What’s the big idea, old lady?"
She was about the sa age as Ariel, so calling an old lady was ridiculous. I got the ssage.

I was both pissed and amused, "My fault? Why would she try to kill herself if she hadn’t done anything wrong? Did you guys waste your ti in school? Don’t ethics and honesty matter anymore?"
"Ariel has always rejected your husband" Nicole fud, "It’s your hubby who won’t leave her alone. Why don’t you give him a piece of your mind? And besides, everyone knows your marriage is nothing but a business deal. You’re just bitter because you can’t get a guy’s love, right?"

I was speechless. These people were all nuts.
I thought they might have been misled by Ariel’s one–sided story and didn’t know the full picture. Now it seed they had beco fans of the supposed epic love story.

Nicole stared at with hurt and anger in her eyes but didn’t dare to retort.
Her friend helped her up, and they slunk away.
Nicholas frowned, "You’re withdrawing the divorce papers?"
Luna must have told him about my divorce lawsuit.
"Yes, I want Ariel to wear the label of the other woman for a little longer. I can’t stand it otherwise! I really ant it.
Her friends dared to be unreasonable to my face, so why should I quickly step aside for them?
Nicholas wanted to say sothing but ended up giving a gentle smile, "Okay, I support you."
After hanging out for a bit, Nicholas and I went our separate ways. I headed straight back to my apartnt.
The next day. I imdiately withdrew the divorce papers. However, Damon sohow got wind of it.
He called and spoke in a cold tone, "Where are you?"
"What’s up?" I was lounging on the sofa with a face mask on, munching on so fruit.
"You filed for divorce?" Damon asked.
"Yes. Didn’t you refuse to sign the divorce papers?" I sighed, "I saw the video of you saving Ariel. I thought I’d step aside and let you guys be together, but last night I ran into Ariel’s two friends. What they said really got to ."

Damon breathing beca heavy. I guessed he was pissed, but I had no clue whether it was about my filing for divorce or withdrawing it
I thought he’d blow his top, but he calmly said, "About my mom visiting Ariel, I misunderstood you. I checked it out. It had nothing to do with you."
I didn’t know how to respond.

After hearing this, I hung up right away. I didn’t want to talk to him!
But I underestimated Damon’s capabilities If he could find Ariel in ti, how could he not find ?
Around seven in the evening. Damon rang my doorbell.
I was about to cook dinner and had ordered so ingredients that were supposed to be delivered. Thinking it was the delivery, I didn’t check the monitor and opened the door.
The mont I saw Damon, I imdiately slamd the door shut.
But he was faster than , barring the door with his hand, then, with a stormy face, he dragged straight into the living room.
"Spill it. Why the hell did you want a divorce?" Damon had parking my butt on the sofa, then started grilling from his high horse.
He probably hadn’t been sleeping well the past few days. The dark circles were clearly visible under his eyes, and he even seed to be in a worse mood than usual
"Didn’t I already call off the divorce?" I retorted with righteous indignation.
Damon was amused by my response, "Where on earth did you pick up this ludicrous logic?"
