If it was due to work, I indeed couldn’t ask soone to leave directly, as the stakes were too high.
Moreover, this project also involved Mitch.
"So what should I do? My family’s life will be threatened after he gets out of the hospital." I was getting annoyed, and I threw the question at Damon.
Damon’s answer was nonchalant, "We’ll cross that bridge when we co to it."
I found it amusing, "Aren’t you worried that the lunatic will harm Leo?"
As soon as I ntioned Leo, Damon’s careless attitude changed, and his tone beca cold and severe, "If he dares to do so, I’ll make sure he won’t have a place to rest in peace!"
"What about ? I have kids too!" I challenged.
"Don’t you have Jones?" Damon’s words made understand his aning instantly. He wouldn’t leave abroad, nor would he stay. away from . My safety should be Jones’s responsibility.
I didn’t know what I was feeling at this mont, but it was extrely uncomfortable.
Damon cared more about Catherine and Leo’s safety, which I naturally understood. But if my danger was due to him, and he didn’t take responsibility, it would upset .
"Damon, you really are my curse. Please stay away from in the future." I didn’t want him to say more and asked him to leave, "You can go now."
Damon didn’t leave.
I ignored him and lay down on the hospital bed. I pulled up the blanket, ready to take a nap.
But I felt a shadow approaching. When I opened my eyes, Damon had stood up. He leaned over, his hands propped up on both sides of my shoulders, creating a sense of entrapnt.
I looked at those eyes close to in astonishnt, "Damon, what are you doing?"
"Did Nick touch you anywhere?" Damon’s eyes narrowed. That was a look I recognized. It was dangerous.
"Are you crazy?!" I was both angry and speechless, "What does that have to do with you? Besides, he only ripped my clothes!"
If Nick had succeeded, I would have stabbed him with a knife while Damon was beating him.
Damon seed to be contemplating sothing, and I slapped him hard, leaving a clear handprint on his fair face.
He tilted his head, the handprint on his cheek made a striking contrast.
"Alright, then there’s no problem." Damon seed to have been awakened by my slap. He got up and gently touched the side of his face that had been slapped.
I really didn’t know if there was sothing wrong with his brain.
However, it was at this mont that Jones’s voice ca, cold and deep, "What are you guys doing?"
I looked in astonishnt at the entrance of the ward.
Jones had his hands in the pockets of his white coat, and his eyes under the glasses reflected a cold light as he looked at and Damon.
Had he seen the scene where Damon bent down and wrapped his arms around ?
I suddenly felt as if I had been caught cheating. My face flushed hotly.
"You’re asking what we’re doing?" Damon was indeed a genius at courting death, Not only did he not explain, but he also coldly countered.
"Jones, Damon ca to the hospital to handle Nick’s dical expenses, and he also ca to check on . He’s leaving soon." I had to explain, as neither of these two n knew how to express themselves properly. Their conversation was filled with tension.
Jones slowly removed his glasses and put them in his pocket, then walked in and cleared the entrance, "Is that so? Then you can go now, Damon."
Damon scoffed, glanced at , and then licked the side of his face where the handprint was. Then he left swiftly.
I breathed a sigh of relief. As long as these two n didn’t appear at the sa ti, I would feel that the world was still pretty good.
The room wasn’t very bright at the mont because I had drawn the curtains, but everything was still clear.
I didn’t want Jones to waste ti with because of Damon, so I imdiately changed the subject, "Were Serena and Brandon behaving when you ca?"
Jones closed the door of the ward, and if I wasn’t mistaken, he seed to have locked it. This action made feel odd and a bit uneasy.
His voice was also very low, "Yes, they were behaving. Norah should be able to handle them."
As he spoke, he ca to the side of my bed. Jones with glasses was cool and elegant, and the added charm of his profession as a doctor made him seem aloof yet ticulous.
Without glasses, Jones’s eyes beca several tis more aggressive. Although not as blatantly dangerous as Damon’s, they gave a feeling I wasn’t quite used to.
I was looking at Jones standing by the bed in silence, feeling very flustered. We seldom had this kind of feeling, and the room was very quiet for a mont.
Before I could figure out what was going on, Jones had seized my hands. I was unable to move, and his lips kissed mine. Unlike Damon’s faint taste of cigarettes and mint, his was a light lemon flavor.
I was stunned, and even though I tried to break free, I was helpless. Jones usually respected , but when he got physical, I still didn’t stand a chance.
He gnawed at my lips, gentle but slightly rough. I felt pain several tis, but he didn’t give a chance to protest.
It wasn’t until his hand started to heat up, as if he couldn’t resist so urge, and slipped into my clothes, that I fiercely slapped him.
It was even harder than when I slapped Damon!
With a crisp sound, the slap echoed in the ward, imdiately stopping Jones’s next action. He froze, and at this close distance, our eyes t, and the impulse in his eyes seed to clear up.
I clenched my teeth, my eyes welling up, and glared at Jones.
Seeing cry, he seed puzzled. He removed his hand from and stood by the bed, looking down at , "Why? I’m better than him, aren’t I? But why are you still entangled with him?"
"Is that what I want?!" I questioned, on the verge of breakdown, "Didn’t I avoid him? Didn’t I move? Didn’t I publicly acknowledge you as my husband to the outside world? All of this was to avoid Damon’s harassnt, but it’s useless. Jones, you can’t bla all of this on . Given the circumstances, only if I die will Damon stop bothering ."
Jones stared at intently, his lips a vibrant red from our recent kiss, reminiscent of a poisonous poppy.
Tears cascaded down my cheeks. Damon’s actions had already left feeling unsettled to the core, and Jones’s way of expressing his displeasure was more than I could bear!
