Based on Catherine’s past actions, I didn’t think she was a nice and gentle person. She could curse Damon with her own life and then sneak away without telling anyone. How could she possibly be sincere about healing her forr competitor?
The next morning. I rushed to the hospital for a check–up, specifically a gynecological one.
I bumped into Luna, who ca for a prenatal checkup.
"Eliana, what are you checking? Are you pregnant too?" Luna asked in surprise.
"No, just so period issues." I denied.
"Alright, Damon’s getting engaged tomorrow, are you going?" Luna asked again.
"Nope, no need to." I shook my head.
Mitch, next to us, let out a sigh. "Eliana, Damon still likes you. Really, I just have a gut feeling..."
"Shut up!" Luna swung her arm to hit Mitch. She wanted to keep my distance from Damon, and Mitch was actually persuading .
Mitch reluctantly shut his mouth and even began worrying about Luna. "Don’t get mad; I was just talking. Be careful with the baby. The doctor said to be extra careful for the first three months."
"Then stop ddling in other people’s business!" Luna glared at Mitch.
"I won’t anymore." Mitch nodded quickly
Luna had finished her check–up, so I let them leave first. I continued to wait for my results.
When the results ca out, there were no major issues. I was still having a hard ti getting pregnant. But the situation didn’t worsen, so I relaxed.
If Catherine had given more trouble, I would have fallen apart.
Then ca the day of Damon and Ariel’s engagent. Ariel seed so eager to marry Damon that she didn’t require any preparation and just invited a bunch of guests to a mansion in the city for the engagent party.
Due to Damon’s status and the backing of Soul Enterprises, almost everyone in the city attended the engagent party. All employees of Soul Enterprises were given the day off, leaving only the security guards on duty.
"Daisy, off you go."
I let go of Daisy, pointing to the Soul Enterprises gate in the distance. Daisy got my drift and quickly led the guard away.
The guard was not very vigilant. To enter Soul Enterprises, one needed an entrance card, and to enter Nancy’s office, an elevator card and office password were required.
Damon had given all these, so I got on the elevator smoothly.
While I was busy, Damon and Ariel were having their engagent party elsewhere. Ti was still ample.
I opened the safe in Nancy’s office and saw a folder, which might be what I was looking for. It was about the size of my palm.
I skimd through it and was shocked by what I saw. The scale of money laundering Ethan was involved in was enormous, and his assets, all gained through corruption, were huge.
All the information I needed was in this folder.
Suppressing my excitent, I took photos of the docunts one by one and sent them directly to Damon. As for the originals, I took them with .
The problem arose when I was leaving. As soon as I stepped out of the elevator, I saw the guard. He seed to be looking for Daisy, and when he saw , he looked surprised and then beca cautious. He took out a baton from his waist as he approached . "Who are you? How did you co out of Ms. Nancy’s private elevator?"
I almost stopped breathing, feeling a bit nervous.
"I am Ms. Nancy’s new assistant; she sent to get sothing." I was wearing a mask, so the guard couldn’t see my face. I made up an identity on the spot.
"What are you really here for? Ms. Nancy didn’t hire a new assistant. I’m calling her now!" The guard took out his phone.
Thinking quickly, I dialed Damon’s number.
"Mr. Coleman, I ca to the company to get sothing and was stopped by the security guard!"
Damon picked up the phone quickly, and I hurriedly told him.
"Let him take a call." Damon was calm.
"This is a call from Mr. Coleman. You know, the one getting engaged to Ms. Tueley today." I handed the phone to the guard. Given the current relationship between Damon and Ariel, the guard would definitely take it.
Sure enough, he took Damon’s call, putting away his own phone.
I’m not sure what Damon said, but the guard’s face relaxed.
"So it’s Mr. Coleman who sent you. I thought you was a thief. I was wondering how you got into the elevator without a pass."
"Yeah, Mr. Coleman gave it all to ." I quickly chid in.
After hanging up, the guard waved on. "Go on; Mr. Coleman is waiting for you to send sothing over."
I breathed a sigh of relief and hastened to leave. When I got to my car, I found Daisy waiting for . It had not been caught and smartly ca back to wait for .
I suddenly felt that Damon giving this dog was the right decision.
Back at my apartnt, I started combing through the docunts. I couldn’t hand them over to the police yet. I’d wait until Damon had so results.
About half an hour later, Clara called and said, "Sothing’s happened!"
"What is it?" I asked.
"Damon and Ariel’s engagent party has gone south, and Ariel’s implicated in money laundering and murder!" Clara’s tone was as if she had heard so unbelievable news; she was utterly shocked.
I was calm because this was what I had been waiting for.
"Do you want to co over and take a look? This chaos might last a while. Reporters are already on the scene, and the police should be here soon." Clara’s voice was full of anticipation.
"I’m on my way now." I definitely had to check this out. During my past life, Ariel was like a living nightmare, haunting every step of the way. In this life, she was still a thorn in my side, like a ghost that wouldn’t leave alone.
This should be her last hurrah.
I grabbed the files and bolted out the door to find Damon. I hauled ass, getting there just as the cop cars pulled up.
Since this whole ss also involved Ethan, who was kind of a big deal, there were a bunch of cops on the scene who were ready for anything.
