I really didn’t wanna see Ariel. She seed to always bring trouble with her, but I couldn’t avoid her now.
"Ms. Ariel, you can leave now." Snow said coldly to Ariel. I didn’t know why, but her voice gave the chills.
Ariel, with tears streaming down her face, looked very pitiful. She asked Snow, "Doctor, is there really no cure for ? I have enough money. Aren’t you the best? I’ll pay any amount as long as you can cure !"
But Snow only responded coldly, "Where did you get the money?"
Ariel paused and then said, "My parents are wealthy. If you can help have a child in the future, you can na your price!"
As soon as she finished speaking, Snow let out a cold laugh. Her voice was tinged with regret, yet it was still icy. "Too bad; if you insist on having a child, you’ll die. It’s your choice."
I think I got a grasp of what was happening. Ariel had a heart transplant, and her health was already poor. She, like , wanted to have a child.
Compared to her, my situation wasn’t as severe. At least I didn’t have to worry about my own life.
Suddenly, I felt pretty good. I thought back to when I lost my child and Ariel’s gleeful face at the ti. Wasn’t this karma?
"You’re lying to ; you’re a quack!" Ariel burst into tears and yelled at Snow. "I shouldn’t have listened to the people who were praising your dical skills. Just wait and see; I’ll definitely get pregnant and be safe!"
With that, she picked up her bag and stord out.
Snow seed unfazed and smiled at . "Ms. Brooks, you’re here."
"How do you know my na?" I was suddenly puzzled.
"Luna contacts from ti to ti for health advice and ntions you often. Plus, you’re quite well- known in the city, so it’s normal for to know." Snow replied calmly.
Even though her explanation sounded reasonable, my gut told sothing was off.
I didn’t know where this feeling ca from, but I still kept it in mind.
At this mont, I wanted nothing more than to get healthy and have my own child in the future.
I told Snow about my problem. After Jones, she was the second person to know about my difficulties getting pregnant again.
After examining , Snow told clearly that my health was indeed not good. However, there was hope. If I followed her treatnt, there was a 70% chance and I could have my own child.
I didn’t know how many hospitals I had been to. During my two years of travel, I’d visit a hospital wherever I went, but the results were always disappointing. Snow was the only doctor who told I had a 70% chance of getting pregnant. I couldn’t hide my excitent. My underlying anxiety also faded away. Like Luna, I was willing to face any difficulty in order to get pregnant.
"If you accept the treatnt, then lie down on the couch over there." Snow pointed to the sofa.
I nodded and lay down as she instructed. The treatnt began.
When Snow was treating , she was very close to . I could clearly see her face. Her features were delicate. For a mont, I thought she looked a bit like Ariel. The treatnt took about half an hour. When it ended, I was ready to pay for the day’s treatnt, but Snow suddenly said, "Ms. Brooks, please pay in cash next ti." I was surprised. Luna didn’t pay in cash last ti. Why did I have to pay in cash? Using a bank card was much more convenient.
Snow explained apologetically, "I need so cash sotis, so I take it directly. Please understand."
"Hmm, aren’t you afraid I’ll run away?" I joked as I got dressed.
"Three treatnts a week and take the dicine I prescribed twice a day, morning and night. In a few days, you’ll feel better than before. You’re not short of money, so you won’t abandon the treatnt to avoid the fee." Snow said confidently.
That made sense. As long as the treatnt was effective, I would definitely stick with it.
"Okay, I’ll co again in three days. Where’s the dicine?" I asked.
"Ms. Brooks, give your address. I’ll have soone deliver it to you." Snow answered.
Was that how it was done? I was a bit confused.
There was a hint of apology in Snow’s eyes. "Ms. Brooks, there are so dicines I can’t give you. I have to prepare them myself and then deliver them to you." Luna had told before that Snow was a bit mysterious and difficult to approach, and she did things in a unique way, so I was prepared.
After leaving my address, I left.
The next day was Sunday. Damon ca to find early in the morning. I asked him groggily, "What’s the big Idea? Do you know how early it is?" "Didn’t we agree? You need to pick up Daisy from Starlight Estates." Damon took off his sunglasses and strode into my apartnt.
He was so unreasonable. It was not even eight o’clock yet!
Seeing Damon sitting comfortably on the sofa made my good mood vanish. I glared at him and went back to my room to change.
By the ti I ca out dressed, the doorbell rang, so I went straight to open the door.
Snow was wearing a black long-sleeved dress. Despite the hot weather, she was wearing a mask and sunglasses, her face obscured.
She was holding the dicine. I thought she would send soone else, but she ca herself.
"Ms. Brooks..." Snow began, then suddenly stopped. Although she was wearing sunglasses, I could feel her gaze. She seed to be staring at Damon, who was sitting in the living room.
I couldn’t see her facial expression, but her body seed to stiffen.
"Dr. Snow?" I called her na.
"Oh? Sorry, I didn’t sleep well last night and feel a bit dizzy now. I just spaced out." Snow handed the dicine. "This is your dicine. Take it once in the morning and once at night. Don’t forget."
"Okay, would you like to co in for a glass of water?" I asked politely.
"Sure." Snow agreed readily.
However, Damon suddenly spoke up. "We have sothing to do, so we won’t be able to entertain you." gave her a cold shoulder.
He didn’t really know Snow, so naturally, he wasn’t keen on playing host to her. He straight-up gave
When Snow heard what Damon had said, she was obviously taken aback. Her voice sounded a bit off. "Alright then, if you guys are busy, I won’t take up any more of your ti."
With that, she turned on her heel and left without a mont’s hesitation.
I needed Snow’s help with healing, so I wanted to be on good terms with her. Damon just disregarding people’s feelings like that really ground my gears.
