After a mont of silence on the other end, an uncomfortable voice said, "Mr. Coleman was calling your na. I don’t think Ariel showing up would do any good."

That statent hit like a ton of bricks. My mood, which had been gloomy as hell, seed to lift a bit.

Unbelievable. I was so easily pacified. His assistant said one sentence, and my mood lightened.

"You’re overthinking. I have nothing to do with him now. Ariel is his girlfriend; you should go find her and not bother ." Although I felt better, I still spoke sharply.

The assistant continued pleading awkwardly, "Ms. Brooks, please co over. If not, Mr. Coleman is going to spend the night at the bar, and it’s going to be a ss."

"Nope." I replied.

Suddenly, there was a scream on the other end, "Mr. Coleman!"

My heart jumped, and then there was a loud crashing noise, even drowning out the background music.

The assistant’s voice rang out anxiously, "Ms. Brooks, please co over quickly. Mr. Coleman sohow got into a fight. He’s hurt!" "This old trick again? He used to fool with it. Nobody can beat him in a fight." I was a bit worried, but rembering that Damon had used that trick before, I cald down imdiately.

The assistant was about to cry, "No, it’s not like that this ti; please co and see. He mistook soone else’s girlfriend for you!"

That really threw for a loop.

Was Damon drunk, or was he out of his mind?

After hesitating a bit, I drove to the bar to find Damon, who was mistaking another woman for his girlfriend. When I arrived, Damon was bleeding from his forehead, and his assistant looked helpless. There was also a couple standing by them, and the guy looked pissed as hell.

"Ms. Brooks, thank God you’re here. Please take Mr. Coleman to the hospital!" The assistant said urgently.

"He’s been beaten up so badly; doesn’t he know to call an ambulance?" I frowned.

"Mr. Coleman won’t let !" The assistant seed to be at his wit’s end, only managing to say that simple sentence.

I knew Damon was as stubborn as a mule, but that ti, after hearing the whole story, I was speechless. Not only did he mistake soone for , but he also got beaten up by that person’s boyfriend, and he casually asked the guy to finish him off, as if he were invincible.

The guy who hit Damon turned to and said, "You must pay for your boyfriend’s actions. Emotional distress!"

"He’s not my boyfriend." I replied unhappily.

"Then why are you here?" The guy retorted, "Aren’t you Eliana? He’s been yelling ’Eliana’ all night. Isn’t that you?"

I was taken aback. Yes, that was , but how could I admit it?

The woman next to the guy then spoke up, her voice sweet as honey, "Oh, co on, this handso guy just got a bit tipsy and mistook for Eliana. Let’s not be so hard on him. Let’s just be friends."

Her seductive eyes were full of interest in Damon, as if she were hoping Damon would mistake her for .

Just as I was about to say sothing, Damon suddenly reached out and grabbed my hand. His eyes were blurred, and there was blood on his face, which was quite startling. He looked at and said, "I said she was my wife. I wasn’t wrong, was I?"

I wanted to scream. I was furious with his behavior.

"Yes, yes, Mr. Coleman, Ms. Brooks wants you to go to the hospital!" The assistant, who genuinely cared about his boss, quickly chid

Damon smirked, "Fine, let’s go."

He tried to stand up, but due to being drunk and injured, he staggered and ended up using for support. I nearly fell over.

"Can you stop using these cliché tactics? What’s the point of hurting yourself?" I snapped.

"No point? Didn’t it bring you here?" Damon’s tone was light, with a trace of amusent. He didn’t seem drunk at all.

I was speechless. Damon’s audacity shocked ti and ti again.

When I was trying to help Damon out, the guy ca over again and said, "You have to pay. You think you can just walk away? No way!"

Before he could finish, he lunged at Damon, apparently feeling justified.

Previously, Damon let him hit him, which gave him false confidence.

But Damon, once he got what he wanted, had no rcy. He lifted his leg and kicked the guy hard. Then there was the sound of the guy falling.

"Your girlfriend was the one who hit on , got it? Idiot." Damon’s cold eyes stared at the woman rcilessly.

The woman looked at him in horror, obviously not expecting the situation to turn so awkward so quickly.

I didn’t want to stay there any longer and cause more trouble, so I signaled for the assistant to help get Damon out of there.

The assistant tried to support Damon’s other arm, but Damon glanced at him, and the assistant imdiately let go, looking terrified.

"Damon, are you nuts? I can’t hold you up by myself!" I yelled at him angrily.

"I can walk." Hearing swear, Damon beca a bit more cooperative. He gave up pretending to be drunk and steadied himself, walking side by side with .

I felt a mix of anger and amusent, but I couldn’t deny that there was also a bit of joy in my heart.

After leaving the bar, I told the assistant to go ho, and I drove Damon to the hospital.

Damon sat in the passenger seat while I drove in silence.

"I threw that flower away. I didn’t pay much attention to it." Halfway there, Damon suddenly started explaining, "Most of those photos are fake. I never took her to my Estates. I never liked her. You should trust ."

I kept my face stern and focused on driving.

Damon was resting with his eyes shut, but his yamring didn’t cease. "If you’re pissed at , just spit it out. We’ve been giving each other the cold shoulder for two months now. Ti to call it quits, eh?"

"You never made an effort to reach out either. What’s this ’call it quits’ crap?" His words riled up again just when I thought I’d cooled down.

Sotis, Damon could really get on my nerves.

Damon slowly opened his eyes and looked at , then cracked a smile. "Guess I put my foot in it again. But I’m trying to learn how to love you and how to make you happy. I’m bound to screw up along the way. Don’t I deserve a chance to make things right? Why are you so hard on ?"
