I bought so food and then headed back to the hospital.
My mom had just woken up, and it seed like she’d need to stay in the hospital a few more days. So that ans I had to frequent the hospital these days.
To avoid running into Jones again, I decided to switch my mom to a different hospital pronto.
"Where’s your dad?" After moving to the other hospital, my mom finally asked , "Why haven’t you told him I’m awake?"
My heart sank a little hearing that question.
"Mom, dad’s been a bit tied up these days, but he’ll be back soon, " I managed to force a smile and fobbed her off.
Though I’d have to tell her about my dad sooner or later, she had just recovered and was still so weak, I didn’t want to upset her.
Quickly, I tucked her in tightly and comforted her, "If dad saw you like this, he’d be heartbroken. Give it a few days, when you look better, he should be done with his stuff."
My mom closed her eyes tiredly and then sighed softly, "Hmm, your dad must be worried about . He’s retired now, why’s he still so busy?"
"Exactly because he’s retired, he’s been invited by his old friends for traveling, to relax a bit." I tried to picture my dad taking a vacation.
My mom finally smiled, "That’s good, he’s been working all the ti, now he should relax a bit."
We chatted in the ward, these days I planned to stay in the hospital until she was discharged.
During this ti, I didn’t care about anything happening outside, only Luna would fill in on so stuff.
"This grapefruit is really sweet, try so!" Luna was peeling the grapefruit, feeding my mom.
In front of my mom, our conversations were very cautious, we absolutely avoided ntioning my dad and Damon.
"Hmm, it’s really sweet, thanks, Luna." My mom was recovering pretty well these days, so even after getting discharged, she’d need to be extra careful.
"As long as you like it," Luna said with a smile, "I’ve been having so backaches recently, Eliana, accompany for a check-up, will ya?"
Hearing Luna was not well, my mom instantly told to go with her for a check-up, I nodded.
Luna surely had sothing to tell , that’s why she used this excuse.
As expected, not long after we left the ward, Luna’s tone changed, she said angrily. "Oh my god, that jerk Damon, he’s really with Ariel now!"
Upon hearing this news, I wasn’t shocked, when I moved out from Starlight Estates, I had anticipated this outco.
"That’s fine." I walked into the elevator, answering indifferently.
"Eliana, you’re not mad? Before he tried getting back together with you, and now that you’ve moved back to Starlight Estates, he went to Ariel, what a scumbag!" Luna started rolling up her sleeves, "I wanna slap him right now!"
I held her hand tightly, "Please stay calm, don’t bother with them."
Luna let out a deep sigh, "I can ignore them, but I think you’re upset. If your mom knew about all these things that happened recently..." "She must not know, I didn’t even get her a phone." I cut Luna off, "Once she’s discharged, I’ll take her back, won’t let anyone blabber in front of her!"
Luna looked at for a few seconds, then helplessly shook her head.
After the chat, Luna left, while I was ready to return to the ward.
When entering the elevator, a man ca out, he seed familiar at the passing glance, and he looked at a second longer.
It was Ethan!
After the man left, my heart raced in the elevator, I actually ran into him here?
Ethan wouldn’t normally appear in the city, his appearance now must be due to Nancy and Ariel.
Why was he in the hospital?
I quickly rushed to my mom’s ward, seeing her safe and sound, I finally breathed a sigh of relief.
My mom had fallen asleep, I sat there working alone, the company had started the new year’s work, and it was a ton.
The company recently received a big order, it was the one Nancy and Ariel had ntioned to before, the client surprisingly ca to my company again.
I was investigating the client company, hesitating whether to take the order, Soul Enterprises couldn’t accept it, but my family’s company could barely handle it.
My phone beeped, it was a ssage from Damon, after reading it, I had an idea.
Seems like I needed to make a trip to the company.
To my surprise, as soon as I stepped out of the hospital, I saw Ariel.
She got out of the car, holding a basket of fruits, looked like she was here to visit a patient.
Seeing , Ariel imdiately ca over, all smiles, looking quite pleased with herself, "Eliana, good thing I ca, Damon told not to, but I think your mom waking up is good news, I had to visit her."
"Don’t you dare get close to my mom?" I blocked Ariel’s way, asking coldly.
"Eliana, what are you talking about? I’m just being polite... " Ariel answered with a victimized look.
"I don’t care what your intentions are, I’m warning you, if you let my mom know about things she shouldn’t, then your past scandals, I might spill them to Damon." I glared at Ariel coldly.
Ariel was stunned, a trace of confusion flashed across her face, she seed to not understand what I ant for the mont.
After a few seconds, she asked in confusion, "Eliana, what do I have to hide from Damon?"
Everyone already knew about what happened before, Ariel must think there’s nothing else that could affect her anymore.
I curled my lips sarcastically, "Like how you got with Joshua before you even broke up with your high school, boyfriend, isn’t that unfaithful?"
"You... you’re talking nonsense!" Ariel’s face instantly changed, she seed quite worried about this issue.
"You know damn well I’m telling the truth. Damon might not care about your past screw-ups, considering you’ve got a laundry list of them. But what about his parents?" I ntioned Damon’s parents, which could definitely put the screws on Ariel.
At the ntion of Damon’s parents, Ariel’s face turned sour in an instant. Did she think just getting back with Damon was a win?
Damon’s parents were a massive roadblock. Catherine couldn’t get into the Whitmore family, and Ariel was no different.
"It was Hannah who spilled the beans, wasn’t it?" Ariel was livid, tossing the fruit basket onto the floor, "Eliana Brooks, if you stick your nose in my business with Damon one more ti, you’re gonna pay a hefty price!"
