Just then, Damon’s phone rang. He had left his phone on my vanity last night, so it was within my line of sight.

After a while, Luna asked, "Are you really planning to remarry Damon? I heard you moved back to Starlight Estates"
"Yes. What’s wrong?" I nodded. I hadn’t expected Damon to share that with Cooper and the others.
"Eliana, Damon is really remorseful. He genuinely wants to win you back. So if he occasionally sses up, could you forgive him?" Cooper looked apologetic. "Last night, I was out drinking with Zoe, and sothing happened, so Zoe called him. Do you know about this?"

I smiled faintly, feeling surprisingly calm. I had anticipated that. "It’s fine. Regardless of my relationship with Damon, I won’t interfere with his interactions with friends. Both you and Zoe are his friends. It’s normal for you to seek his help."
Cooper was taken aback, appearing sowhat confused. He probably thought that since I was living with Damon again, I would be jealous or upset.

He said, "Ms. Brooks, the number you asked to trace seems to have anti-tracking asures in place, so I couldn’t determine the owner of the number. I could only pinpoint a rough area."
"Where is it?" I asked.
"It’s near Soul Enterprises," the hacker replied.
My face imdiately darkened. Could it be that even that phone call was part of Ariel’s fabricated lie?
I had thought I could find evidence. It seed I had been overly optimistic.

"I’m Joshua’s sister, Hannah. My brother had given your contact information before. He told you were his best friend in the city. Do you have so free ti to et with ?" Her voice held a hint of nervousness, as if afraid I might refuse.
