I totally wanted to make a U–turn and speed off, but Luna and her daughter were still in my car. I had no choice but to suck it up and drop them off at their doorstep.
"My wife is back!" Mitch, all dressed up, probably just got back from work. Seeing Luna get out of my car, he imdiately rushed over to pick up Lily and enthusiastically greeted Luna.

I let out a deep sigh, "Alright. Dr. Jones, I’ll take you ho"
Jones didn’t say a word. He kept his lips tight but seed to breathe a sigh of relief. He nodded at Mitch, then got into my car.

I drove in silence, heading to Jones’s apartnt. I’d been there once before and rembered the general route.
"I had a blind date today" Jones broke the silence first, "We t, had dinner, and chatted"
"That’s nice. How old is she? What does she look like?’ I casually asked
Jones didn’t answer. I couldn’t help but glance at him. He sat upright in the passenger seat, his profile expressionless.
Did I say sothing wrong again? Wasn’t I just showing concern for him?
Never mind, it’s probably better if I just keep quiet and drive
So I kept silent, not asking anymore about Jones’s blind date. It wasn’t until the car arrived at his apartnt building that I broke the silence, "We’re here." "Wait for . I need to take Bonny for deworming," Jones said to in a slightly gloomy tone as he unbuckled his seat belt, "My car is in the shop for maintenance. The other cars are at ho. Can you give a ride again?"
"Sure. I’ll wait for you here" What else could I say?
While Jones went to get Bonny, I was stuck in a curious thought. Is this what it feels like to be loved by soone I don’t love?

Jones had changed his clothes. He was now in a white t–shirt and gray pants, very simple and casual. God had been kind to him, leaving almost no traces of age on his face, so as long as he changed his style a bit, he looked very young

"Bonny is looking more handso" I leaned in to look at the kitten, unable to suppress my complint.

I didn’t know which pet store he was going to, so I switched places with him and sat in the passenger seat holding the cage, occasionally teasing Bonnie. On the way, Jones and I hardly spoke a few words
After we arrived at the pet store, I didn’t get out of the car with Jones.
"Tll call a friend to pick up later. You can go ahead," Jones said to from outside the car window, holding the cat cage.
"Okay. Jones, I have a favor to ask", I hesitated for a mont but decided to speak up. "Could you not tell anyone about my infertility? Please?"
Jones’s gaze deepened He asked, "Even if I don’t mind, you wouldn’t choose , would you?"
He had a self–deprecating smile on his face. "I understand. I won’t tell anyone."
With that, he entered the pet store.
I breathed a sigh of relief but also felt a little upset. If I could fall in love with Jones, it might not be bad.

I was kinda pissed, so I pushed Luna’s hand away. "I’m not talking nonsense! I’m telling the truth, Hasn’t he always been all tangled up with Ariel? Then he should just keep entangling with her, not bothering . From now on, I’ll leak his news to the dia every day. If that’s not enough, I’ll spill the beans about Catherine too."
Just then, a hand reached from behind and took my glass away
I turned around in confusion. Damon stood behind , his face stern. His indifference stood out in stark contrast to the lively atmosphere around us
Even though Luna and the others always said Damon was a bad guy, it seed like I was the one caught red–handed right now. For a mont, all four of us were left speechless.
