What exactly does the Wise King want to do?
From Mohe’s perspective, the deal between the Wise King and Ah Xion is probably to stabilize Doro.
He likely doesn’t intend to apologize to Doro or beg for forgiveness, but he needs Doro not to cause trouble. With Ah Xion near Doro, he at least has a spy—though if you let this Sword Saint choose, she’d most likely side with Doro. However, before completely tearing the facade, the Wise King would likely avoid conflict with Doro.
Mohe understands the significance of the recruitnt at present.
Ultimately, although the so-called Ice and Snow Kingdom and the Human Central Empire aren’t really allies, as the leader of humanity, the Wise King certainly cannot allow this kingdom to be swallowed up by the Snow Elves.
He can conquer the Ice and Snow Kingdom himself, but will not permit creatures of other races to interfere—this should be the principle of the Wise King.
Moreover, this matter is different from that of Butuo City. The event in Butuo City, frankly, was caused by Adeline herself, and the Wise King should have had a different stance from Adeline. Logically, the Wise King should handle this matter on his own, but the Demon King clearly knows that letting the Wise King handle it—he is incapable of doing so, and by then, Doro might even consider it his own plot, which is why she personally made the trip.
The Snow Elf issue is different.
As the leader of humanity, if the Wise King really does nothing, the losses he would face wouldn’t just be a simple blow to his reputation.
He had been holding back, likely waiting for the affair in Butuo City to completely settle.
And after Mohe and the others left Butuo City, this Wise King imdiately convened the nobility of the entire nation, launching a round table eting.
At such a eting, the Wise King made it clear that the Ice and Snow Kingdom is part of humanity and a very good ally of the Human Central Empire. Now that the ally is being attacked, humanity has no reason to stand by. If they stand by today, would it an that one day, if so race attacks the Human Central Empire, the Central Empire would do nothing?
Of course, anyone with a discerning eye knows that this eting was just a formality, the result had long been predetermined.
Since ascending to the central position, the Human Central Empire has yet to truly flex its muscles. The initial affair with Charlette was ant to launch a war to announce the na of the center to the world—unfortunately, an Abinu’s Mirror, a Shapeshifter Demon Greenland, and a sudden intervention by the Hero completely thwarted such a far-reaching struggle.
It gave the Central Empire a feeling of having to hold back before even being able to make a move, with many nobles holding their breath.
But now with this, they can take action.
Simply put—Hero A·Gedora will not interfere.
After all, when the Snow Elves ca to attack humanity, you didn’t intervene. When humanity fights back, are you going to step in?
If the person nad A·Gedora loses his position as a Hero—though concepts like stance can be ambiguous at tis, and there are also rumors that the Hero now calls himself the "Tearing Celestial King"... using past intelligence to determine the Hero is a foolish thing...
Yet, after a comprehensive analysis, the Central Empire still believes that the Hero’s action in Butuo City was entirely for rescuing people.
Although he calls himself the Tearing Celestial King, and proclaims allegiance to the Demon King, in fact, during the disaster in Butuo City, the greatest casualties were caused by the battle between the Demon King and the Source of Miracles, the clash between the World Tree and the Earthly Heaven, resulting in the collapse of many buildings and thus quite a number of casualties...
But this "quite a number" didn’t quite qualify as a disaster, not even matching the impact of a natural disaster.
Therefore, it can be entirely considered that the Hero was indeed saving people. His relationship with the Demon King should be akin to a cooperative relationship.
This is also the conclusion drawn by the Central Empire’s "Thousand-Eyed Star Gazing" divination master, quite authoritative.
Hence, the Human Central Empire began to assemble a large army, intending to march directly toward the Snow Elves.
"From the Wise King’s perspective, this is not necessarily an exploration. If Mr. Doro intervenes in such a war, he might change his policy towards Doro, and if he doesn’t, he should continue with the current policy—though I really have no interest in such a war... let’s see how long the Snow Elves can hold on first?"
Mohe shared his thoughts with Rose.
"But the leader of the Snow Elves is that Elf. She had a good relationship with Doro initially and has never betrayed him."
"Speaking of which, Doro always said at the beginning that the Snow Elves had great figures... Lisidorwei and yours are quite nice, I haven’t carefully observed the Snow Elves before, do you know Elfe’s figure?"
Rose gestured in front of her chest with her hand: "I’m afraid she’s one or two sizes bigger than ."
"Gasp!"
Mohe inhaled sharply: "Do Snow Elves eat that well?"
"She is a warrior among the Snow Elves, early on many thought she was a disgrace to the Snow Elves, since Snow Elves are good at using magic... perhaps it’s because of that that she developed well? She’s an anomaly among Snow Elves. Naturally, she has sothing special."
"This is indeed a formidable opponent. I’m afraid our Mr. Doro might not be able to resist the temptation of the Snow Elves and go to save them!"
Rose stared at Mohe: "Is it the Demon King himself who plans to save a Snow Elf’s life?"
"Oh? You’ve made so progress recently, you even know what I’m thinking?"
"...After all, you didn’t really hide your intentions."
Mohe laughed twice with a "haha": "Well~ Lisidorwei already married Mr. Doro, now you can only be a mistress, Miss Rose."
"Being a mistress is not a problem for —after all, I’m a demon under your command now, aren’t I? Does such a contract made in the na of the Goddess really have aning? Ordinary people wouldn’t even abide by it, let alone us demons? Or are you saying, Mr. Demon King, you would follow such a contract?"
"Eh~ Interesting~ Miss Rose, it seems you’ve had so realization recently? Mind sharing your thoughts with ?"
Mohe certainly didn’t expect an answer.
But surprisingly...
"I felt envy."
Rose suddenly said such a thing: "I once admired Hero A·Gedora, wanting to be like him. Of course, it turned out I took the wrong path, swallowed by the darkness within, committing unforgivable acts, yet even such a person as ... he still saved once again. I consider myself without a reason for his rescue, but—that’s just the kind of person he is."
Her expression seed very heavy: "From then on, I have been thinking, I want to follow this person for my entire life. If I could share so of his burdens, if one day I could die for him... that would surely be my lifelong glory, and would make my death worth it. So when I was turned into a demon and beca a Charming Demon by you, I was actually quite excited, I thought... At least I can... do sothing for him."
"Though most of the ti, I’m doing the housework, cooking... but when I see him wearing the clothes washed by , happily eating the food I made, I sincerely felt... I indeed did sothing for him, and felt quite content. I originally thought this was already nice, serving him as a maid was already good..."
That was sothing Mohe didn’t expect, she couldn’t read minds, and it was impossible for Mohe to know everyone’s thoughts completely, just like how Ah Xion suddenly beca Doro’s disciple, which Mohe couldn’t figure out at the ti.
"But Lisidorwei doesn’t truly love Doro. When I saw them get married, I couldn’t help but think... if it were , I would let him feel my admiration. Though that might not be a form of love, but at least... it wasn’t exploitation."
Mohe grabbed Rose’s shoulders with both hands, her face filled with excitent: "Then, take action! Rose! Don’t hesitate! With the Demon King supporting you from behind!"
