Finally, Kang Xingkuan carefully removed the money bag by the monster’s side.

This act inevitably made contact with the monster’s poison fog, but the toxic soreness wouldn’t take effect imdiately. It would only flare up after they had left, and then flour would be applied to the sores to treat them.

The monster was still deep in sleep, completely unaware of the arrival of so many people.

Kang Xingkuan imdiately sighed in relief, clutched the money bag tightly in his hand, and turned to leave with excited eyes.

However, he hadn’t taken more than a few steps,

when he heard a "roar" – a fierce roar!

Those who had been watching Kang Xingkuan saw a huge black shadow appear behind him.

The monster, Swallowing Elephant, had awakened!

Kang Xingkuan saw the huge shadow on the ground and nearly fainted from fright.

Why was this happening!

They hadn’t taken out any food, so how could the monster have woken up?!

As he panicked, sothing like a hook was flung over and snatched the money bag from his hand.

The man in the suit stood at the entrance, excitedly holding the money bag.

"You all can stay here!" he said with a cold laugh, pulling out a spray gun in his hand.

The flour that shot out rained down like a shower, covering everyone in it!

If the monster hadn’t woken up, they weren’t planning to take out any food, just to leave quietly. But it was he who had taken out the flour earlier, causing the monster to wake up.

Huge eyes imdiately fixed on the others.

Their gaze was cold, violent, and malevolent, as if looking at food.

They would tear them to shreds in the next second!

Within the black fog surrounding Swallowing Elephant, gradually, ghastly human faces began to erge. The semi-transparent, weird faces were filled with expressions of excitent and greed, laughing wildly at them.

"Hehehe, hahaha."

Like a wild beast, the monster suddenly produced a human-like laugh, eerie and terrifying. The laughter grew louder and louder, as if a crowd of people were watching and mocking them!

Kang Xingkuan’s legs gave way, and he collapsed to the ground, trying to get up and flee, but it was too late.

The monster sprang forward and bit Kang Xingkuan to death.

Those ghastly semi-transparent faces surged out from the black fog and burrowed into Kang Xingkuan’s corpse.

The sight nearly caused the man in the suit’s legs to buckle. As the monster feasted, its crimson eyes stared straight at him, filled with an inhuman malice and cruelty.

He felt a chill down his spine and increasingly found the monster unnerving, as though it possessed human intellect.

The man in the suit dared not look any longer and quickly climbed up the rope toward the hole, not even bothering with his partner Old Li.

In fact, he had never planned on sharing the gold with these people.

He wanted it all to himself!

He had kept a secret about the money bag from the others.

That secret was that the gold in the money bag was unending!

He absolutely couldn’t let them discover this!

The money bag, only palm-sized, could continuously produce fist-sized gold pieces, wasn’t that unending?

The man in the suit rapidly ascended the rope, his eyes filled with excitent and greed, quickening his pace. He couldn’t wait to leave and live a life wrapped in wealth.

"Who said you could leave?" ca a cold laugh from behind.

Suddenly, Qin Zhao, who had been far off, flew up and arrived beside him.

"You, how can you fly?!!"

The man in the suit hadn’t even recovered when Qin Zhao kicked him down, and he landed right near where the monster was devouring Kang Xingkuan. He saw the gruesoly mangled remains and nearly fainted from shock.

"I knew you were up to no good," Qin Zhao stated coldly, standing near the entrance, looking down at the man in the suit.

"Looks like you’re going to stay here forever."

The monster was devouring Kang Xingkuan, buying the others quite a bit of ti. Ye Qian and Old Li stumbled and scrambled to the entrance, unable to spare a thought for Kang Xingkuan and the man in the suit, focused only on getting out as quickly as possible.

They were covered in flour, and once the monster had finished with Kang Xingkuan, it would certainly co after them!

Qin Zhao looked indifferently at the two of them; they had monopolized the rope while Shangguan Qiu and Chu Yan were still below.

With a tap of her toes, Shangguan Qiu moved as if she had employed Qinggong, reaching the exit even faster than Ye Qian and Old Li.

Chu Yan observed her movents, his long, narrow Phoenix Eyes reflecting contemplation.

He felt he could now perform the sa action as Shangguan Qiu.

The power within him could support such an action, he could even Instantaneously Move from the tomb to a nearby town.

But Chu Yan didn’t do this.

He stood below, staring at his super aweso wife with puppy-dog eyes.

His handso face went pale, and with a nervous glance, he eyed the rope taken by Ye Qian and the others.

Finally, he continued to pitifully stare at Qin Zhao.

As if saying, "It’s over! I can’t make it out in ti! Wife, save quick!"

"Give your hand."

Despite internally criticizing him for being such a weakling and questioning why he had insisted on coming here, Qin Zhao wouldn’t leave him behind, so she leaped down from the stone wall.

"Okay," Chu Yan dutifully gave her his hand, then tightly clasped Qin Zhao’s hand.

With a gentle tug, Qin Zhao stepped over several spots on the stone wall, easily flying out of the cave with him.

"Roar! Roar!!"

From below ca the excited roars of the Swallowing Elephant, along with the man in the suit’s screams of agony.

"Ah! No, please, no!"

Having consud a person, the Swallowing Elephant seed to grow even stronger. With its roars, the entire tomb began to shake, so passages started to collapse, and rocks rolled down continuously.

Qin Zhao and Shangguan Qiu worked together to reseal the rocks at the entrance, then Qin Zhao carved a rune with fresh blood on the stone — the strongest Sealing talisman she could use at the mont.

Seeing the Swallowing Elephant had allowed her to sense that its presence was even more dangerous than Tengshe.

She was utterly incapable of killing the Swallowing Elephant now; she could only cooperate with the monk’s Array to continue suppressing it here.

"The tomb seems like it’s going to collapse, we need to get out quickly!"

Having sealed the entrance, they hurried out.

As for Old Li and Ye Qian, they had already made their escape, heading in a different direction from Qin Zhao and the others.

Once outside, both were still shaken.

Ye Qian, watching the gradually collapsing tomb, her face was etched with reluctance. They had ventured into the tomb this ti for Gold, yet not only did they fail to obtain any Gold, but she had also lost her boyfriend in the process.

She and Kang Xingkuan were students who had co from another province to study in the Imperial City, choosing the archaeology departnt not out of a love for the field but because their scores had barely t the requirent, resulting in their being allocated to archaeology.

They had been eager to stay in the big city of Imperial City, but the archaeology departnt hardly made any money, and finding a well-paying job upon graduation seed unlikely.

The most significant thing was that from what they had heard from classmates who had returned, those students had managed to find so Gold.

Perhaps, that was the only perk of being in the archaeology departnt.

Clutching dreams of overnight riches, they had arrived at this tomb.

Ye Qian frowned slightly, sitting on the ground with a vacant expression. Considering Kang Xingkuan’s death, she had no idea how to explain it to their teachers and classmates when she returned.

Old Li, too, hadn’t left imdiately and was slyly checking around the tomb. Having not obtained the money bag, he was hoping to find so Gold that the monster might have dropped previously.

Finding a severely collapsed area, he indeed discovered a piece of gold the size of a fingernail amongst the rubble.

Old Li’s face lit up with joy, just about to pick up the gold.

Suddenly, a bloodied hand reached out from a crevice in a large stone,

and violently grabbed his ankle!

"Save, save ."

From the crevice ca a faint plea for help.

"Ah! What’s that!"

Old Li tumbled to the ground, white as a sheet. In that instant, he thought he saw a pair of crimson, malevolent eyes staring at him from the dark rift in the stones.
