Kelvin’s gauntlet ford a blade that parried the lightning, while Xerion’s flas engulfed the drake and forced it to move back. The beast hissed, its scales singeing, but Varek pushed it forward and his runes flared.

Lyra wove shadow runes and her amulet glowed, binding the drake’s wings to slow its charge, while Salaris’s talons struck its eyes, drawing a screech of pain.

Darius hurled a soulstone, its explosion staggered the beast, and Rhoam’s armored claws raked its flank and cracked a scale. The drake faltered, its soulstream wavered under the trio’s unified assault.

Varek’s face twisted in fury, but before he could retaliate, Master Torren’s voice bood, his obsidian lion lood behind him.

"Enough!" The lion’s roar shook the yard, and the crowd froze. Torren’s eyes bored into Varek. "The Sanctum values strength, not cruelty. You have shad your bond. Report to Master Veyne for discipline imdiately."

Varek glared but lowered his head, recalling his drake and stalking off. Sharon approached Kelvin with her Mistwisp nuzzling her leg, its eyes were bright with gratitude. "Thank you for standing up for ," she said.

Kelvin clapped her shoulder, Xerion’s fire softening in his soul. "The Sanctum is about bonds, not levels so keep training, your wisp’s got spirit."

Lila nodded, a spark of determination in her eyes, and the crowd dispersed, murmuring about Kelvin’s stand. Lyra smiled and said. "That’s the courage the Forge will demand."

Darius grinned, tossing a soulstone. "Yeah, and we looked epic doing it. Let’s hit the drill."

---------

The trio resud their training. Master Torren oversaw the session, his lion’s mane flared as he barked orders. "Convergence relays! Synchronize your bonds against a horde of constructs!"

The constructs materialized—Level 5 stone bears, Level 4 fla wyrms, and Level 3 shadow ravens, their movents were relentless.

Kelvin, Lyra and Darius fought as one, their synergy runes amplified their Convergences. Kelvin’s gauntlet blazed, his soullight blade sliced through a bear as Xerion’s flas cleared the path.

Lyra’s shadow runes bound a wyrm, Salaris’s talons stroke its core. Darius’s soulstone detonated and staggered a raven, and Rhoam’s claws tore through its wings.

A bear’s claw grazed Kelvin’s arm which was a sharp jolt, but his bond with Xerion dulled the pain.

Lyra’s amulet pulsed, healing a nick on Salaris’s wing, while Darius took a hit from a wyrm’s tail, his breath ragged but his bond with Rhoam was unyielding.

Their combined assault reduced the horde to rubble, and Torren’s nod was grudging but clear. "You need to keep refining."

---------

After the drill they went to Master Caelum’s Runic Workshop, where the forge-like chamber rang with the hum of carving styluses.

Caelum’s stern voice cut through the heat as he guided them through crafting runes of duty which is designed to strengthen a bond’s resilience under sacrifice. "Duty is your anchor," he said.

Kelvin etched a duty rune into a soulstone, his gauntlet steadied his hand as he channeled Xerion’s fire. The stone glowed, accepting the rune, and he felt a surge of pride as Xerion’s approval rippled through their bond.

Lyra carved a shadow rune with her amulet amplifying her precision, while Darius produced a clean strength rune for Rhoam. Caelum’s grunt of approval was a small victory, their hands ached but their spirits were high.

---------

The afternoon was consud by Master Veyne’s seminar in her circular lecture hall, Veyne’s lecture explored sacrifice resonance, the art of channeling a beast willingness to give into a tar’s actions.

"Sacrifice is the heart of duty," she said with her serpent weaving threads of light. "It is the will to give for others."

Kelvin took notes, linking Veyne’s techniques to their stand against Varek, his gauntlet thrumd with potential. Lyra’s diagrams mapped their resonance patterns, her amulet glowed as she worked.

Darius’s discipline was sharpened as he took detailed notes. The seminar ended with a practical: channeling a sacrifice pulse to stabilize a mock soulstream rift. Kelvin’s gauntlet amplified their pulse, synchronizing perfectly with Xerion’s fire.

Lyra’s amulet enhanced her control, her pulse was flawless. Darius’s pulse wavered briefly, but Rhoam’s nudge steadied him, earning a passable result.

---------

The evening brought them to a final drill in the Obsidian Yard, the air was cool under the starlit sky.

Torren announced a new challenge: a mock battle against constructs mimicking apex predators which was designed to test their duty under pressure.

"Your bonds are your strength," he growled. "So you must be able to prove it."

The constructs materialized—a Level 6 Ironclaw Behemoth, a Level 5 Stormdrake, and a Level 4 Shadow Raptor, their movents were lethal.

Kelvin, Lyra, and Darius fought as a unit, their synergy runes blazed. Kelvin’s gauntlet ford a soullight blade which sliced the behemoth’s hide as Xerion’s flas weakened its core.

Lyra’s shadow runes bound the drake, Salaris’s talons stroke its heart. Darius’s soulstone detonated and staggered the raptor, and Rhoam’s claws tore through its wings.

The behemoth’s claw grazed Kelvin’s leg, a sharp jolt, but his bond with Xerion kept him standing.

Lyra’s amulet healed a claw mark on Salaris’s flank, while Darius took a drake’s lightning to the arm, his bond with Rhoam was unyielding. Their combined assault felled the constructs, and Torren’s nod was clear. "You are ready now." He said.

---------

In the morning the trio stood at the Solar Forge, a radiant arena high atop the Sanctum’s spires, its walls shimred with golden light and etched with runes that pulsed like a heartbeat.

Masters Kaelus, Veyne, and Torren stood at the arena’s core, their beasts was silent and imposing.

Kaelus’s voice bood, resonant as the soulstream. "The Ember of Duty will test your bonds against the forces of duty and sacrifice, the soul of a tar’s purpose. Three trials await: Resolve, Offering, and Harmony. Conquer them, and you will stand as guardians of the Inner Sanctum."

A portal of amber light opened, its edges cracked and the trio stepped through with their beasts and the world dissolved into a storm of light and fla.

--------

The portal spat them into a realm of molten rivers and jagged peaks. Kaelus’s voice resonated again: "Prove your resolve. Defeat the Ember Guardian and claim its fla."

Kelvin felt Xerion’s fire surge and their bond was a blazing anchor. "Stay strong," he said, his gauntlet glowed. "This place tests our will."

Lyra nodded, her amulet pulse as Salaris took flight, her wings were steady against the heat. Darius gripped a soulstone, Rhoam’s plates clinked as he braced.

A pack of Fla Wraiths erged-Level 5 spectral creatures with molten claws and fiery eyes, their screeches shake the peaks.
