Outside the building, just a few distances away, under the shade of a stall closing up for the day. Dain flipped a silver coin to a seller and grabbed the banana from the display.
He finished it in one go while keeping his eyes on Desire’s Haven, the infamous brothel of Brookcrest.
He ca here in little hope that the group had not made it. However, he thought wrong. The aura he felt emitting from the building was none other than Lord Raven.
He smirked as pride brimd in his chest. He knew his Lord Raven would survive and then maybe Logi, but the mannfae was one he least expected.
He could feel her impure aura from here. And it disgusted him to the core.
He altered the tunnels to take them into a warp dinsion only in the hope of killing two birds with one stone.
The main goal was Isadora; her weakness should have been a factor that made her lose her life, but he underestimated Lord Raven’s resilience.
This was going to be difficult.
"I’d advise not to go in now." The seller said.
"Why is that?" Dain asked.
"I think they have important guests. No one has stepped out for a while now."
Dain smirked. "Don’t worry, I don’t plan on going in. I’ll watch from the sidelines."
The seller narrowed his eyes. "Why are you watching?"
"I’m amazed. Earlier, I saw people I thought should be dead. It seems Daudi’s rciful these days." He turned his olive eyes to the man. "How’d you feel when people you thought were dead ca back alive?"
The man shrugged. "I’d thank Lifara, the goddess of life. She gave rcy to them."
Dain nodded. "I’d too." He sighed. "I never wished them dead, especially the Fae I admired for winters. But duty forced my hand." He threw the peel away. "I’m torn between loyalty."
The seller couldn’t understand his words, but asked. "Torn between loyalty? Does this an you serve two masters?"
"Maybe. Now, if you’d excuse , I’ve got to make arrangents to erase a stray."
Dain turned his back and strolled away, leaving the seller more confused.

Isadora wore her extra pants, but a sudden feeling swept over her, causing the fine hairs at the back of her neck to stand on alert.
She faced the window with narrowed eyes. ’Was that the feeling of death? Where did it co from?’ She thought, perplexed.
But unable to pinpoint the location, she figured it must’ve been a random Fae, and it wasn’t ant for her.
Kraven leaned against the wall, watching Isadora the entire ti. They hadn’t said a word to each other after being stuck in each other’s embrace.
It was the most bizarre thing he had ever experienced. Certainly, he had embraced her on nurous occasions when they’d been intimate but this felt... different.
It wasn’t about lust or hunger, it was just pure comfort.
Was he capable of such a deviant thing after all? She found solace in his presence. Could it be?
The voice of his thirst ca forth, scraping at the surface, but he did his best to seal it away.
It had been days without it. Killing Solin and the Hollows sohow relieved the chaos, but he didn’t know for how long.
It was always an unquenchable fit to still the dark corners of his mind.
However, there was sothing else that troubled him. They were intimate again. It was a mistake. It happened so quickly that he ignored all warning signs.
The last thing he wanted was to kill her during such intimacy, but sohow the thirst never cultivated in his head.
This was becoming far more than pleasure over thirst. He should be torn because it was in that mont of passion that he was ant to be vulnerable; the grip he had on his insanity should’ve snapped shut.
But the only thing he felt when it ca to ending her life was profound revulsion that shad his thirst.
’What is she doing to ?’ he thought, tilting his head to the side, wondering how this creature was sinking into the folds of the darkest part of him.
He promised himself that she’d never have his mind, only his body. But why does it feel like she was slowly breaking the walls he enforced around his insanity?
What would beco of him when she glimpsed what lived inside his head... again?
His teeth gritted. ’No... that can’t happen.’ Only the gods knew how he’d react this ti... he almost strangled her to death when she did, and he wasn’t so sure she’d be lucky next ti.
"We should go down," Isadora said, breaking the silence.
Kraven moved off the wall, striding toward her. The sound of his stomping footsteps should have plagued Isadora and brought back the mory of Dashwell, but she didn’t have a spark of thought about him.
Instead, she was reminded of the sa sound when Kraven backed her against the wall and buried his fingers in her inner walls.
He succeeded in tarnishing her darkest mories with his darkness. She’d never look at this room or think about it the sa way ever again.
When she does recall in the future, it’d be a mix of emotions; anger, pain, pleasure, and his undeniable devotion.
He’d ruined her again.
Judging from the grin plastered on those kissable lips of his, revealing his sharpened canines, she could tell he knew what she thought of and was proud about it.
Kraven reached for her, but she took a step back. Irritation twisted through him, the mont she did that.
It felt like an insult.
"What’s that for?" he questioned, not hiding the vexation in his tone. "A few minutes ago, you held onto like you couldn’t live without , and now you step away?"
"I’m still angry at you," she replied sternly, tipping her chin to hold his burning gaze.
He may have eased her trauma in the most insane way possible, and she was a bit grateful for it, but that doesn’t change what he did.
It wasn’t hard for Kraven to guess what made her put up this kind of attitude. "Because of the stillroot?"
She folded her arms. "Yes. The stillroot."
