The streets of the Eternal Comrce District bustled with activity—cultivators from across the Infinity Realm conducting business, trading resources, seeking opportunities. Buildings towered impossibly high, existing across multiple dinsional layers simultaneously. The ambient energy was thick enough that weaker Initiates struggled to walk comfortably.
Through this crowded street walked a man who seed both present and absent. His form flickered slightly, as if he existed in multiple states simultaneously. Space bent subtly around him, not from active technique but from passive presence alone.
Elias Vance walked in a state of perpetual enlightennt.
For most cultivators, enlightennt was a rare gift—fleeting monts of clarity that ca once in a lifeti, if ever. Treasured, desperately sought, the foundation of major breakthroughs.
For Elias, with 99% Infinity Law comprehension and 100% Quantum Law mastery, enlightennt was a state he could enter at will. His understanding had reached such heights that he existed in constant communion with fundantal principles of reality and infinity. His mind processed infinite calculations simultaneously. His perception extended across dinsional hierarchies. His consciousness touched the very fabric of existence itself.
And yet.
That final one percent eluded him.
He’d been searching for three years now. Three years of wandering the Infinity Realm, seeking the opportunity that would push him from 99% to 100%. Three years of challenges conquered, mysteries solved, opponents defeated.
Three years of frustration.
Logically, he should have achieved it by now. His Quantum Divine Processor had analyzed Infinity Law from every conceivable angle. His experiences had been vast and varied. His understanding was comprehensive, complete, perfect in every asurable way.
But sothing blocked that final step. An invisible barrier he couldn’t identify, couldn’t analyze, couldn’t overco through pure logical progression.
It was maddening. And Elias didn’t do madness well.
Around him, conversations floated through the air, carried by divine sense and casual projection:
"Did you hear? Sovereign Elias Vance cleared the Abyssal Depths last month. Seventy-three Sovereigns had tried before him. All failed. He succeeded in three days."
"Three days! How is that possible?"
"He’s a monster. I heard he fought Sovereign Blade Emperor Ben to a standstill. They destroyed thirty five dinsions before calling it a draw."
"A draw? I heard Elias won. Decisively. I heard he was actually just playing with him like a child."
"Either way, Blade Emperor Chen has 96% Infinity Law. Fighting him to any conclusion is incredible."
"That’s nothing. Elias Vance barged into the Eternal Thunder Sect last year. They’d been hoarding ancient techniques, refusing to share knowledge. He walked through their mountain defenses like they didn’t exist, took what he wanted from their archives, and left. They couldn’t stop him."
"Didn’t they send twelve Sovereigns after him?"
"They did. He defeated all twelve. Didn’t kill them—just humiliated them completely. The sect disbanded a month later from the sha."
"I heard he destroyed the Shadow Requiem Sect entirely. They’d been kidnapping talented cultivators for experints. Elias found out and... well, the sect doesn’t exist anymore."
"Good riddance. They were a plague on the realm."
Elias paid the conversations no mind. His reputation had grown beyond his control—stories exaggerated with each retelling, achievents magnified until they barely resembled truth. He didn’t care. Reputation was a distraction.
Only one thing mattered: that final one percent.
He turned into a quieter side street and entered a small tea house. The establishnt was modest by Sovereign standards—simple decorations, basic arrays, ambient energy only a hundred tis normal density. A place where ordinary cultivators gathered, not the legendary powers.
Perfect. He wanted peace to think.
The proprietor—an Adept-level cultivator who probably didn’t recognize him—bowed respectfully. "Welco, honored senior. A table?"
"Yes. Tea. Your best variety."
"Of course, of course!"
Elias was guided to a corner table with a view of the street. He sat, his enlightennt state continuing undisturbed. Part of his consciousness remained focused on that elusive final percent. The rest engaged with the present mont.
The tea arrived—decent quality, infused with Stage 3 Continuum principles. Good for ditation and clarity of thought. Elias sipped it slowly, analyzing the flavor profile, the energy circulation it stimulated, the subtle Law interactions in its preparation.
His Quantum Divine Processor ran constant background calculations:
Infinity Law comprehension: 99.000%
Estimated ti to natural breakthrough: Incalculable
Probability of random enlightennt event: 0.0023% per decade
Conclusion: Current approach insufficient
Frustrating. But also fascinating. For the first ti since reincarnating, he’d encountered a problem pure analysis couldn’t solve.
Nearby tables held other cultivators, their conversations drifting to him:
"The Azure Cloud Sovereign posted a bounty yesterday. Two hundred billion Luminite for anyone who can retrieve the Star Heart Crystal from the Void Serpent’s lair."
"Two hundred billion? That serpent is peak Sovereign level! It would take a team of five Sovereigns to have a chance."
"Unless you’re Elias Vance. He’d probably solo it before lunch."
Elias almost smiled. They weren’t wrong. The Void Serpent would be challenging but manageable. Its void manipulation techniques were sophisticated, but his Quantum Law could counter them effectively. Still, retrieving crystals for bounties held no interest. He needed breakthroughs, not luminite, he had more than enough from the sects he had raided.
More conversations, these from a different table:
"My niece was accepted to the Epochal Ascendance Academy. First in our family to achieve such honor!"
"Congratulations! Which trials cycle?"
"The most recent. You know, the one where that Aria Vance girl achieved perfect scores in everything."
Elias’s attention sharpened slightly. Aria. His daughter. He hadn’t contacted her in three years—the necklace would alert him if she faced true danger, and it remained quiet. But hearing her na still stirred sothing in his carefully controlled emotional state.
"Aria Vance... related to the Sovereign?"
"His daughter. She’s beco quite famous at the academy. Supposedly she’s advanced to 70% Infinity Law already. In just three years! The instructors call her a once-in-an-epoch prodigy."
"70% in three years? That’s absurd. Even legendary students take decades for that level of growth."
"She’s Elias Vance’s daughter. What did you expect?"
Pride. The emotion was subtle but present. Aria was excelling. Good. That was optimal. Kaelen would be proud too. Perhaps he should visit them soon, see how—
No. Not yet. Not until he achieved 100%. Not until he could return having accomplished what he set out to do. Anything else would be admitting temporary defeat, and Elias Vance didn’t do defeat.
He sipped his tea and returned his focus inward, to that maddening final percent. What was he missing? What principle, what understanding, what perspective eluded him?
His Quantum Divine Processor suggested possibilities:
Hypothesis 1: Experiential gap - need specific type of challenge
Hypothesis 2: Emotional barrier - detachnt preventing final integration
Hypothesis 3: Conceptual block - misunderstanding fundantal principle
Hypothesis 4: External requirent - need specific item or location
All possibilities. None felt correct.
The tea house door opened, admitting three Sovereigns who radiated competitive energy. They glanced around, noticed Elias in the corner, and imdiately went pale.
"That’s... that’s Elias Vance," one whispered.
"Impossible. Why would a legend be in this small tea house?"
"Because he’s right there!"
They left quickly, not wanting to accidentally offend soone who’d destroyed sects and defeated unrivaled Sovereigns.
Elias barely noticed. His enlightennt state had deepened, his consciousness touching the boundaries of Stage 5 Hierarchical Infinity without quite entering it. So close. The final stage beckoned like a distant shore he could see but not reach.
Another conversation from the street outside, loud enough to penetrate even his ditation:
"Breaking news from the Exploration Guild! An ancient secret realm has been discovered—the Primordial Infinity Palace!"
"Primordial Infinity Palace? I’ve never heard of it."
"Nobody has! It’s been sealed for millions of epochs. Supposedly created by one of the original Infinity Ones who ascended beyond the realm entirely!"
"An Infinity One’s realm? What treasures must be inside!"
"More than treasures—techniques, insights, possibly even comprehension aids for reaching 100%!"
Elias’s eyes opened fully, enlightennt state montarily pausing.
A secret realm. Created by soone who’d reached The Infinite and transcended. Soone who’d achieved what he sought.
Clues to that final percent might exist there.
He stood, leaving contribution points on the table—far more than the tea cost. The proprietor would be shocked when he found them, but Elias had no use for the currency.
Outside, cultivators were gathering in excited groups, discussing the realm’s location and opening ti:
"It’s in the Shattered Void Region, northern continent!"
"Opening in three days! The Exploration Guild says the seal is weakening rapidly!"
"Every major sect is sending teams. This will be competitive."
"Competitive? It’ll be a bloodbath. Everyone wants what’s inside."
Elias began walking toward the teleportation arrays. The Shattered Void Region was fourteen realities and 10 dinsions away—a vast distance, but trivial for soone of his level.
He had nothing to fear from other treasure seekers. With 99% Infinity Law and 100% Quantum Law perfectly integrated, he was functionally unrivaled in the Infinity Realm. Even most Infinity Ones—those rare 100% comprehenders—would struggle against him. His Quantum Law provided advantages they couldn’t counter, perspectives they couldn’t match.
If Infinity Ones did appear in the secret realm, he estimated he could fight them evenly. Possibly even win through superior technique application and his quantum advantages.
His enlightennt state resud as he walked, his mind already analyzing the upcoming challenge. An Infinity One’s secret realm. Ancient techniques and insights from soone who’d stood at the absolute peak.
Perhaps this was it. Perhaps this was the opportunity he’d been seeking for three years.
That final percent. The ultimate understanding. The transcendent breakthrough.
It was waiting. He could feel it.
Elias Vance, legend of the Infinity Realm, master of 99% Infinity Law and 100% Quantum Law, walked toward the teleportation array.
The Primordial Infinity Palace awaited.
And with it, perhaps, the answer to his most fundantal question:
What blocked that final step to perfection?
Ti to find out.
