Chapter 99: Diabolic-level Taming

PAH!

BOOM!

A cloud of dust erupted again as cracks spread from the point of contact. Bahamut’s eyes had turned eagle-like and golden while his senses were pushed high.

The bull skidded to a halt and charged at him again. Bahamut stomped his foot on the ground, cracking it further as he ascertained his stance.

His clawed hands shot forward, grabbing hold of the long horns of the creature. The shockwave generated by their contact hit the others, pushing them back, while Bahamut was driven backwards.

But with astonishing strength, he tightened his grip on its horns, drove his legs into the earth, and stopped its movent.

He then raised it over him and smashed it on the ground, forming a wide crater.

The impact didn’t end with the crater.

The ground howled as Bahamut slamd down, his weight crashing after the creature, knees bent, spine locked, every ounce of force driven through his fra. The bull-like monstrosity convulsed beneath him, its shadow-fur rippling violently as it tried to surge back into smoke.

It failed.

Too much of it had spilled out already.

It had beco tangible now.

Bahamut didn’t give it a breath to realize that mistake.

His fist ca down.

Once.

The shock rippled outward, turning loose stone into powder. The creature’s head snapped sideways, horns carving trenches through the earth. Before it could recover, Bahamut was already moving, grabbing one horn, yanking hard, dragging the thing half out of the crater, and slamming it back down again.

Again and again.

Each impact rang like a war drum, dull and brutal, shaking the ruins around them. Shadows burst from the creature’s body with every blow, screaming soundlessly as they were torn loose.

Bahamut mounted its chest, his knees pinning it down, and drove his clawed knuckles into its face.

Left. Right. Downward hamr. Elbow. Another fist.

The thing thrashed, its hooves gouging the ground, horns swinging blindly. One caught Bahamut across the shoulder, tearing fabric and flesh. He didn’t even grunt. He seized the horn mid-swing and twisted.

There was a sound like night tearing.

The creature roared, a deep, furious bellow that made the air vibrate. Darkness surged again, trying to explode outward.

Bahamut slamd his palm into its throat.

The roar choked off.

He leaned close now, golden eyes burning, breath steady, face set in sothing colder than anger.

His fist dropped again, this ti straight into its chest.

Sothing cracked.

The creature spasd violently, its shadow-fur flickering, its form losing cohesion as if it couldn’t decide whether to exist or dissolve. It roared again, defiant, furious...

Then the sound changed.

A voice tore its way out.

A sharp and mournful scream. One that spoke of torture and pain.

"MAKE IT STOP!"

The words burst from its mouth in a girl’s voice, raw and distorted, overlapping with the beast’s bellow. It wasn’t anger now. It was terror. Pain. Desperation layered so thick it made the air feel heavy.

"Please... make it stop... please!"

Bahamut froze.

His fist hovered inches from its face.

The gold in his eyes flickered... then vanished.

His pupils snapped back to normal.

Sothing inside him shifted.

He grabbed both horns again, not to strike, but to hold them down, forcing the creature’s head still. He leaned forward, staring straight into those hollow black eyes. His eyes glowed with deep light as all the pupils in his eyes glowed along.

Three seconds passed.

The thrashing slowed.

The shadows stilled.

The creature felt the presence of more than five predators scrutinizing it from Bahamut’s gaze. Its eyes shook with fear and submission.

The creature’s massive body sagged beneath him, its power draining away like breath leaving lungs. It exhaled, long, shuddering, and then lowered itself fully, limbs folding, head resting against the ruined earth.

A cold chi echoed in Bahamut’s mind.

[Warning: Host has subdued a viable entity.][Recomndation: Use Contract Token imdiately.]

Bahamut didn’t look away from the creature as his hand moved. The token appeared in his palm, solid and cold, etched with symbols that pulsed faintly.

[Instruction: Place the stone on the entity.]

He pressed it against the creature’s forehead.

A blinding light exploded outwards. It swallowed the courtyard, the ruins, the shadows... everything. The others cried out, shielding their eyes as the radiance surged skyward like a silent pillar.

And in that light, sothing ancient and binding snapped shut.

When the glow finally began to fade, the world felt... quieter.

As if sothing that had been screaming for a very long ti had finally gone silent.

Bahamut’s and everyone’s eyes widened at what lay in front of them. It was of a young girl, about 18 years old, with long black hair, black cow horns, and fair skin. She lay naked there, her breathing almost non-existent.

Bahamut felt a connection with her the mont he looked at her.

’The contract...’

But all of a sudden, Exildra exclaid again.

"It’s her! I’ve seen her before, but I don’t rember where..."

"So I was right... You are a seer..." Apollonia chuckled as she watched Rakia drape a cloak over the girl.

"So, what do we do with her? She’s most likely exhausted," Rakia said to the group, but Bahamut’s attention was sowhere else.

[Congratulations!

You successfully tad and contracted a cow beast-kin.

You can now place her in your contract space and summon her at will. No mana needed.

Current Condition of Contracted:

- Experiencing an evolution. Since it was a forced one, she will be inactive for a long ti until her evolution is complete.

The best place for it to happen is your contract space.]

"To think..." Bahamut suddenly said, garnering the attention of everyone.

"Did you discover sothing?" Apollonia asked, her voice tensed.

"I tad her and managed to contract her. She is going through a forced evolution, causing her to beco this monstrosity.

But since it’s over, she has been saved, but she has to rest and complete her evolution."

"Do you have a contract space? All Beast Contractors have them, but I don’t know how they form their contract spaces," Exildra asked, causing everyone to look at her.

"I actually have," Bahamut replied with a smile, only to feel a chill down his spine. His eyes instinctively moved towards Exildra, who was staring at him like she’d caught him sleeping with another woman.

"Exildra... It is just..."

"Just do your thing. I’m okay!"

"Uh... Sure..."

’Fuck! This girl will cause trouble one day!’

Bahamut opened his right palm over the girl and envisioned the sensation he felt when he looked at her to transport her inside the contract space, which was inside him, just as the system instructed.

He did just that, and right in front of everyone, the cow beast-kin girl disappeared in a soft black light.

But when they thought everything was over, sothing happened.

Bahamut had managed to roll out of the way, but he still lost his arm.

Turning, they saw a man covered from head to toe in black, leaving only his eyes, which were green and looked sickly.

Just his appearance scread, "I DID THIS!"

The cause of the town’s downfall had co to them, and not peacefully.
