Chapter 728: She Made a Living for Herself
Due to her sales technique, she had a lot of return custors.
Not long later, a middle-aged woman ca along. She looked like she was in her fifties and seed very elated. She bead widely and looked like she was walking on air.
He Xiyan noticed that the middle-aged woman had bought pig trotters, striped bass, mutton... all this food was not cheap.
This middle-aged woman would typically only purchase so at and vegetables when she ca round.
“Boss, how many eggs laid by local chickens have you got left?” the middle-aged lady said loudly as she approached her stall, as though she was afraid that He Xiyan couldn’t hear her.
“How many would you like?” He Xiyan naturally answered with a smile as she greeted her custor.
She recognized this middle-aged woman. This woman would always spend a lot of ti bargaining each ti she ca.
“How many have you got?” the middle-aged woman said confidently, as though she planned to wipe out whatever stock He Xiyan had.
He Xiyan crouched down and opened the box that contained the chicken eggs. She counted them all and calculated that there were 60 eggs in the box and 40 eggs displayed on her stall, so there were 100 eggs in total.
“I have a hundred,” He Xiyan said as she looked at her regular custor. She didn’t think that her custor would buy that many eggs.
However, she was wrong this ti.
“Wrap them up for . I’ll send my son to collect them from you later. That is a total of $180, right?” she said as she handed over $180 in cash to He Xiyan imdiately.
He Xiyan was stunned. She didn’t understand what was wrong with this middle-aged woman today. Why was she buying so many eggs without even bargaining? This middle-aged woman would typically haggle over a few cents.
“Ha ha...” the middle-aged woman said with a smile. “My daughter-in-law is pregnant. I’m buying these eggs for her to eat them as nourishnt. I’ve purchased these type of eggs from several stores and many of them were fake, or had mixed in other kinds of eggs. Your stall is the most credible store I’ve seen and after I’ve cracked the eggs I had bought from your stall, I’ve noticed that the yolks are perfectly red. I used to rear chickens so I can tell imdiately whether these eggs are authentic eggs laid by local chickens or not.”
Realization dawned on He Xiyan.
No wonder this middle-aged woman had suddenly beco so generous.
She continued to serve a steady stream of custors and ended up selling most of her stock.
He Xiyan placed her remaining stock into the storage shed and locked it up securely, then tidied up her stall and swept the floors at around 10 AM.
She didn’t have much stock left and most of her custors tended to visit the market early in the day. There weren’t that many custors in the afternoon, so she would only open up her stall for a few hours in the afternoon.
She had other matters to attend to in the afternoon. She would have to go to an art school to teach at 2:30 PM and this was a job that she had recently landed after interviewing at the school in September. Her main responsibility was to teach children how to draw.
She taught the beginners sketching classes and could end $200 per class. Since she taught two classes every day from Tuesday to Sunday, she would earn $2,400 a week and $9,000 a month.
If she were to include her earnings from her stall, she would have earned more than $20,000 this month.
After she cleaned up her stall, she returned to the residential building.
This was a resettlent area for residents whose previous living quarters had been marked for demolition. The environnt was not that great and it was rumored that there were many telemarketers around the area but this was not sothing that she cared about. They didn’t have much money and had to keep money aside to buy a house, so they couldn’t afford to rent a good place.
They had rented a two bedroom apartnt on the third floor. It was only around 70 square ters. The apartnt wasn’t big but it didn’t matter since it was big enough for both of them.
There was a fridge, air-conditioning, washing machines, heating facilities, and other basic electronics. These anities were not new but it was they were enough.
