Chapter 538: This Was the Only Way

“Tang Tang, I’m sorry!” Su Ye softly whispered as he looked out his window at the snowflakes that floated down from the skies. He didn’t know what else he could do but to apologize.

He Xiyan saw the docunts that Ye Hao brought ho with him and there were more than a hundred pages. Each page contained a girl’s self-introduction and photograph.
She carefully looked through each page. These girls were all born between January to March 1997 and they were also all orphans who had gone missing. There were even so among them who had passed away. They were all spread across various cities in the country and worked in different occupations.
She would shake her head helplessly after looking at each docunt because she didn’t see anyone who looked like her sister. She had seen photographs of her younger sister when she was around a year old, so she quickly eliminated those who didn’t resemble her sister at all.
Ye Hao erged from the bathroom after his bath and rubbed at his damp hair as he asked, “How was it? Did you find any leads?”
He had obtained these docunts from the police station based on the basic information he had provided them with. For example, girls who were born in spring 1997, children who had gone missing at Xiang Province, children who went missing around 1.5 years of age, who wore blue jeans and red woolen jackets when they went missing, and so on.
He Xiyan sighed heavily and shook her head dejectedly after she looked through the final profile.
“None of them resemble her,” she said softly. She felt as though sothing was stuck in her heart.
More than twenty years had passed and she didn’t hope to reconcile with her sister but she only hoped that her sister was still alive. Then, her parents would be able to rest in peace and she would be able to fulfill her wish.
Ye Hao sat by her side and gently patted her back as he said, “Don’t be too upset. There are other thods around this. Why don’t I contact the city-wide television channel of Ye City on your behalf? They have a program where people go on to look for their missing relatives, so why don’t you go on the program and talk about He Yiyi and describe her basic profile, and when she went missing? Let’s see if we’ll be able to reunite with your sister through this program and the power of the internet or find soone who might know sothing. It’d be hard to find her if we rely solely on the police since there were so many children who went missing more than twenty years ago and they might have even lost so of their docunts, so it would be almost impossible to find her. Our chances might be higher if we utilize the dia to find her.”
He Xiyan finally nodded after she carefully contemplated his words.
She guessed that this was the only possible solution and making use of the internet and dia might be the only solution. If they still weren’t able to find her after that, maybe they just weren’t fated to et in this lifeti.
