Chapter 29: Buying Him a al

Translator: Larbre Studio Editor: Larbre Studio

A casual look with a little makeup was how she liked it, not stunning but comfortable. She swore that she would not live like before anymore and that she would get it together. Because if not, she might as well be depressed to death, and she had promised her mother that she would never give up her life regardless of any setback.

Dressing in a pair of light pink heels, she carried a little gift bag with a n’s watch wrapped in an exquisite box. Since he no longer wanted it, she had sold the barely worn coat at a discount of forty percent off to a boutique store and bought a watch as a token of apologies.

She booked a private room with the best view at the Intercontinental, the highest rated restaurant in Shen city.

At 7 o’clock sharp in the evening, the man showed up.

Only till then did Xiyan had a chance to look at his face with a clear view.

With a 6’2” physique, he flared in a black Armani suit complete with a light blue tie and his tousled ink-black hair smoothed back for tantalizing perfection. His eyes were as deep as the Westerns, and his square jaws perfectly frad his thin, rosy lips, giving his otherwise too handso appearance a gritty edge.

He marched toward the room.

“Sorry to keep you waiting,” he arched a warm smile to the woman seated in the room.

She had forsaken the glum appearance from ten days before. She was, as a matter of fact, quite an enjoynt to look at with a proper makeover, calling to mind a girl from a good family living next door.

But the restaurant she picked... Doesn’t she know the place is pricey? Can she afford it?

“Waiter, we are ready to order,” Xiyan received the nu from a waiter and passed it to the man.

“Go ahead, order as you like, please,” she said courteously with a smile.

Browsing through the nu, Hao saw the prices and gently clenched his fingers. He decided that he would pay for it after all.

“Please, I’ll eat whatever you order, be it Chinese or Western,” he handed the nu back to Xiyan.

Xihan was left with no choice but to make the call on her own. She had no clue about the man’s preference, so she just ordered anything that’s marked with a ridiculously high price. He was soone who would just give away a ten-thousand-renminbi coat, after all.

Stead king crab, fried cod in soy sauce, roasted lamb chop with rosemary... In total, she ordered five, plus a bottle of fine wine.

The man visibly frowned at the sight of courses being brought up. He felt like he was already full.

He didn’t like any of them, overpriced and not dainty at all.

Xiyan put a slice of lamb in the man’s plate.

“Thank you, Mr. Ye. I have no idea what could have happened to if it weren’t you that day.” Xiyan said regretfully. If he hadn’t carried her out, she would probably end up being dragged out by the neighboring audience. Imagine how humiliating that would be.

Hao was chewing the lamb in his mouth. Not bad, he thought, no wonder it’s the city’s top expensive restaurant. Except that he preferred beef to lamb.

“You...” he raised his head and t her eyes, confusion swirling in his amber-colored eyes, “Are you feeling better?”

Xiyan nodded. She had gotten better despite the frequent dreams about that man and secretive weeping when she was alone. But she was better.

“That’s good. Stay away from romantic shows and cheesy love songs. Get yourself out of this as soon as possible. You are a good girl.”
