’Sister dearest,
The day when you yelled at for giving up such to cowardly acts, I was ashad of myself and I could not see myself in the mirror. I could not believe that even though I was born five years older to you, I was the one who was giving up on hope but when soone so kind hearted showed such strong behaviour, I could not help but make sure that it was a smooth way for you.
I have done everything I could to make sure that no one would doubt your absence and that the sickness was affecting you heavily so that no one would visit but I am afraid that it is ti you co back and leave whatever you have found.
The queen of Astria has written to and she has inford that they are moving the date of coordination of the prince ahead and would be making sure that you two would be first wed. You will be crowned the next queen of Astria along with the prince as he would be crowned king that very day.
I have sent guards along with the ssenger and I expect you to co back imdiately as my Royal commands tell you to do.
Rest will be discussed at ho.
Yours lovingly,
Estelle.’
This was it. I realised that as I finished reading the letter. This was therefore the freedom I had had and now the date of my wedding was coming nearer.
Married. The court and the queen of Astria wanted to us be married first before the coronation of the prince. Which ant that I would have to shift to the kingdoms to learn that customs and greetings before marriage.
"Here," I gave it to Marilyn who took it from imdiately and then I moved to the prince who was watching .
"What was written there?" He asked soon as I made it closer to him.
I shook my head. "I have been called back and I am to return imdiately." I spoke in the voice that I had always used as a princess. He might have seen the voice I used on a regular basis with family but here I was a soft spoken and mannered princess.
"What?" He looked taken back. "What does that an? How is it that all of a sudden they have called you back?" His shock eventually turned to anger as he kept on muttering to himself.
"Your highness," I addressed him by his title and his head snapped to mine as well as that I was firm on leaving. "You must tell the queen about my departure as my sister has called back."
"But what about the investigation? Finding about the creatures of the dark?" He asked when I stepped into the room again. "We have not found out about anything as of yet. There are a lot of things to be uncovered!"
My eyes lowered at the disappointnt I felt for it. I had clearly failed at finding out sothing that I had co here for. But at the end of the day I had also found sothing beautiful.
I had found love and affection from soone that I had just t. I knew what the care and protection of a man for his family felt like and I would also long for it forever, especially from him.
I realised that he did not also know that I was leaving but I had told him that this might be the only ti I could afford to co and visit him. Perhaps if the gods wanted, we would et again.
I answered the prince. "I have to go. This is a royal command and I cannot ignore it."
He glared at . "A royal command?" He spat. "I give you a command to stay here!"
This man was simply infuriating. "Under what authority?!"
"As the king—"
"Lysar!" We heard a yell and turned to the source imdiately. It was the queen that stood before us. "I knew that suddenly you wanting to go for a hunt was just a cover of you coming here. I should have never told you that I had the princess!" She glared at him and I almost laughed at how the big bad Prince was being scolded by his mother and now was mum.
"But—"
"Hush!" She raised her palm and silenced it. "I heard everything but I was standing outside and asking the healer about her health. How could you have been so loud. Have I taught you that as a prince?"
He clenched his jaw and in return.
She looked at and walked closer. "I understand that it must have been an ergency to which your sister is calling you back at such a sudden notice. I apologize for the way my son behaved," she sent a aningful glance at her son, "however I will not stop you for any longer but I will send my guards on the way to make sure that you’re not ambushed on the way."
I shook my head. "My sister already sent—"
"Hush now," she waved her hand at that. "The more, the better. Now, you must take your leave." She smiled before she took the prince with her and walked out.
*******
"What happened?!" She growled. "He was fine! I saw him! He has progressed!"
"Your grace," the man shook his head with regret, "The prince might not—"
"Might not what?!" The woman yelled glaring at him and her husband entered. "How dare you insulate such nonsense. Do you even know what you’re talking about?"
"Love, calm," he ca and stood behind her wife, kissing her shoulder and calming her down, "he knows what he is talking about. We must remain patient."
She sniffed and turned to et him. "I am as patient as I can be. Those people will see my rath for what they have done to my child. They have beaten him on the verge of death and now. . . ." She broke down and cried. "How would we get more blood?"
The man sighed. He too, had no idea on what to do.
