Tristan had brought his carriage with him, but he inford us that traveling on foot would be more beneficial and less suspicious as no one would be traveling in a carriage in a village and people tend to stay away from people who do.

Rich people were not as polite or compassionate as the people who did not have the sa status. They were considered beneath those of carriage travelers.

"How much more do we have to walk?" I panted just as rilyn did. "We could have covered half of the distance in the carriage and the rest on foot," I suggested even though I knew that it was too late to make one.

Tristan was walking at a study pace which I doubt was his normal one. He seems to have slowed down to walk with us. "A few monts more to go." He glanced at as he answered my query. "When we would enter the village and we could ask them around for their address."

"You do not know where they live?" The Prince asked with a small sneer on his face. "How is it that you are leading us to the completely unknown village with no knowledge about where the victim’s family lives? Are you even sure that this is the village that they are supposed to be in?"

The tone that the prince had used did not sit well with Marilyn and as we wearily glanced at each other. The Prince was crossing over his boundaries when it ca to addressing Tristan.

"What do you know to even begin with?" Tristan snapped back as his eyes flashed making mine widen as I watched him continue. "Everyone is well aware of the fact that you have to report to the local authority if anyone gets abducted, especially if it’s your family mber. It is common knowledge."

What was that? I stared at him in astonishnt. Tristan had been nothing but respectful and polite but if I carefully examined what was happening around Tristan’s complete anger was justified. Which is why I looked away when the prince looked at .

"Does any of you not find it is suspicious in the least bit that this man was allowed to have information from the local authorities about the abductions?" He raised his query and I narrowed my eyes slightly. That was true. No one unless directly associated with the royal court did not just have the authority to demand information or receive it in any way.

Tristan looked irritated as well. "I do not have ti for this irrational questioning. But if you must now they give the information because I reported that my cousin was kidnapped by the lot of them." He glared down at the man who was of equal height. "If you have all your questions answered now must we make way to the village where we are going to receive more information, which is going to be way more useful than this conversation?"

Without looking behind once more the Tristan walked forward and I urged rilyn to follow him as took aside the Prince.

"From the very morning, I have been noticing that you are being nothing but a suspect full to a man who is helping us with the information that he has gathered over ti." I I glared at him with wrestling eyes as I was irritated and angered to the bone. How dare he?

His eyes flashed with equal hot emotions. "Are you telling that you are not on the list was suspicious of the father he has managed to gather so much of information from the local authorities without any authority of his own?"

I snorted. "Is that seriously sothing you need to question?" I threw back at him. "Tristan is one of those people who cares apart from the boil authority that has been doing nothing about it. No, do not stop ," I said as soon as I saw him open his mouth to intervene, "If wanted the abductions to stop you would have made sure that this never happened again but none of that has happened to which it ans so of the other ways you are lacking."

He laughed darkly and honestly, now his eyes scared . "Lacking?" He whispered and I took a step back out of fear. His face changed and he looked very angry.

"You should try to chase after so creatures who are stronger than you, who do not fear death and who kill without blinking their eyes." He took a step closer making take another one back and be watchful of his actions. "Do you have even know how many people we have lost to those creatures? Those soldiers had no chance of surviving, they were that badly injured! No one amongst them is left to tell the tale. They were already bleeding out too much to be saved and death the only option for them!"

I flinched at the information. I did not know that. Even though he had prior told that the soldiers were unable to fight off the creatures I had assud that they were injured but not dead. Death was too much.

But his grief was understandable. I was a princess and myself belonging to a royal family where the death of each royal soldier felt like a bone-breaking inside of us. "I understand—"

"No, you do not!" He hissed and I jumped out of fright. Seeing jump he stepped back and cald himself by closing his eyes and breathing slowly. "I suppose that you would make a good wife material, princess. You are beautiful and you are very educated, anyone would love to have you," he praised, "however, leave the work to us n, yes?" He stared at at the end and waiting for an answer after declaring my life out for .

"I—"

"It is a yes or no question." He repeated with a blank face. "Perhaps I was wrong about your education as well." He turned around and walked to where Tristan and rylin were, leaving behind to bear with the impact of his words.
