"G—"
I moaned in pain.
"Gen—"
What in the world was on my head? Where in the hell had it—
"Genevieve.. wake..u"
Who was calling ? What in the world was happening?
"please, please wake up!"
The voice beca clear, and in a matter of seconds, the na landed on . It was Catherine’s voice.
My eyes snapped open despite the smashing pain at the back of my head.
My eyes found Catherine, and her face brought back to reality more quickly than anything else.
"Wa—" I winced, "what?" it was only what I could get out of my mouth. It hurt to say anything else.
"Genevieve!! I do not know what happened. One mont you were coming after , and then I heard you scream and then, and then soone hit . We’ve been here for a while, I think it’s da-dark outside. I don’t know what’s going on! I-I think we’ve been brought sowhere else because I woke up and put myself to sleep again. And-and there are been around us all of us and they put us in this room—"
"Shh," I shushed.
It had already dawned and I did not need any more information from her. My sister was scared and I understood that but we had also been just abducted.
The one thing that I had always been warned about by my governess ca to my mind. I focused on every pain in my body before focusing in between my legs. There was nothing there. No pain that I had experienced once.
Absolutely nothing except for the back of my head aching.
"Catherine," I took a deep breath before talking through my pain, " tell where it hurts."
"What?" She gasped. The disbelief was written all over her face and was in her voice. "What? Wh—"
"Do as I say!" I hissed. It took everything out of to do that but there was nothing else I could do. I could not explain to her what I was talking about because it might scare her more and simply because I did not have the energy to do it.
"N-no," she admitted before she paused. Catherine was probably considering where she had what pain. "No, I don’t have any pain except in my head and maybe in my arms. Upper arms, near my shoulders."
That was good, not very acceptable, but good. At least much better than what I was anticipating, might have happened.
"Very good. Did you see who took us?"
"No one I know of."
No, when she recognised. Then he could be?
Where was Tristan? Vampires were not supposed to let this happen to us!
What if they gave them the sa potion that I gave them on the night of rilyn and Allan’s wedding?
If that had happened, and they had managed to bring a square distance, then it was going to take Tristan ti to find us.
Dear God, I closed my eyes in horror.
Tristan, where was he?
He should have been here long ago!
"Evie," my companion whimpered, " please, tell what you thinking about. Are we going to die?"
I opened my eyes quickly. "No, never darling. You’re not going to die. They cannot kill us not with the titles they have. Listen to darling, they can extort a lot of things with us being alive. If we are dead, they get nothing. Do you understand ?"
She nodded but I did not settle well with .
With my hands and feet tied, I pushed both of them down to crawl towards the wall and set up. Catherine was all the way on the other side, but since the cell was small, our legs were almost touching when stretched out.
"Listen to carefully, dear one, if anyone attempts to kill you, remind them that we co from the family that rules the kingdom. They will get a lot more if they ask for Ransom. Do you understand ?"
My sister had to learn the art of bargaining for her life at the mont.
She nodded and I noticed the condition that she was in. The thick gown made of the finest and thickest velvet available, was not doing much to her.
With nothing else, but the cold and dampness that ca with the cell, the dress was clinging on to her, and she was shivering.
I was no better, but she was younger.
"Can you co to ?" I asked her, keeping my voice soft as I was singing to her a lullaby. "We can be warm if we are next to each other."
If not, at least be next to each other, I was going to provide us with the strength needed to get through this.
Catherine nodded and was shaking, she got closer to crossing the distance over her knees, and her hands before snuggling next to .
"We are going to get through this." I whispered as my eyes took in the room that we are inside.
There was only one fire lantern lit and it almost did nothing. I could barely make out, and had she not used her voice, I would have not even noticed her. The pain in the back of my head did not decrease at all but I had to be the support of my sister and that kept going.
"We will be out of here, Catherine." I told her once again, but my words did not even fall to my ears.
I knew I was not strong enough to fight even one man let alone the money that was going to co. It all depended on Tristan, and I knew, with all my heart and my mind, that he was going to co.
I prayed that he did, because if he did not, I knew I would not survive it.
"Prin—Princess?"
Catherine gasped loudly, and I tried to make out the face of the voice. It was not until she said the na that I realized it had been the voice of the long lost person we all have been looking for.
