The rest of the breakfast or dinner continued with light chatter, and with my sister asking him all the questions she could find in the world. So I found peculiarly interesting, and I knew I was going to ask him about them later. So, I tried to hold my laugh in.
Seeing Tristan laugh at her jokes, and along with her, it made rember that ti when he was just a rchant. Maybe he was never a rchant but portrayed as one to . But it was the one ti where he had been completely carefree.
Becoming the king of a land had definitely taken a chunk out of him with the responsibilities and duties he had to carry out.
Not to ntion how he was also trying to establish a relationship between vampires and humans. That was basically establishing a relationship between the predators and their prey. Yet, he had been succeeding.
Catherine polished off the last bite on her plate and put the folk down with a wild grin. "I am done."
I chuckled softly. It was the house ride that my sister was excited about.
Nodding, I pointed to the side of my face, and she understood the gesture. She took the cloth and wiped her mouth carefully before looking at with the sa anticipation and excitent.
Tristan sighed a little. "I suppose that ti has co to an end here. I wish you very well for your ride. Enjoy yourself."
"Thank you!" Catherine practically bounced in her chair before getting up and coming to . She pulled out of my chair and off we went.
Anna was written at the door. Of course, voices traveled, and she must have known what was going on inside.
"I have arranged for the best horses in the palace."
I knew where the stables were, so I took Catherine by her hand to the ground floor of the palace. On the side, the extre end of the garden, were the stables. However, since Anna had already taken care of them, she had the horses in the front, right by the entrance.
"Oh, Genevieve, they are beautiful!" She gushed over the strong and pure bred stallions. They were beautiful, as such to be held and just powerful to look at.
They were of the highest quality. The kind reserved only for the royal family mbers.
I didn’t notice one thing. They were spooked, but not entirely enough to not listen to what was going on. They did not like being in the presence of vampires, creatures that were not animals or humans, but they tolerated them.
How?
Catherine turned around, her excitent almost catching . "Can we begin right away?"
How was I supposed to say no to her? Horse riding lessons for one of the things Catherine loved to do. Those lessons were one of the few Catherine went for willingly.
"Yes. Please, choose the one you want."
Screaming, she ran up to the horses before stopping at the distance to not scare them. She chose the white one and I had expected that.
The black stallion was left for and one of the stable boys took a step near to help onto it with the pedestal provided. Solomon intercepted him, giving him a long look before taking his place with his hand out.
Bert was doing the sa with my sister.
I did not comnt on the protectiveness. Solomon showed it towards or to my sister. Once I was seated carefully on the horse, I confird with Catherine, who was all the most ready to go.
It started slowly and we stayed side-by-side, the rest of our party stayed a little bit away, giving us slight privacy as well.
"I liked talking to him." Catherine revealed a little shyly. "He was.. quite nice to talk to."
"Thank you." That felt the right thing to say even though I did not know why should I have thanked her.
I should have, shouldn’t die? Tristan was my fiance, soone I want to marry one day and beco the Queen of and rule alongside. I should be happy that my sister proved him.
"Are you really going to marry him?"
I glanced at her before thinking about the answer. My expected answer was that it was expected of , but it was no longer that.
He was not Terrence, this was not a bretroal that was set ages ago by people who claid to be our parents, but were actually just the rulers of kingdoms.
"Tristan is soone I can find myself getting married without any obligations or duty."
"So," Catherine stretched out the word, a little bit, "you do want to marry him." Her words had ended up on a questioning note and I did not bla her. At tis, even I was not sure of my intentions for the future held.
I thought about it a little bit. "Yes, yes I do."
She humd. I like him as well. He will be good for you. "He’s kind, warm, not soone. I would expect Prince Terrence to be like. I did not hear much good things about him."
"Tristan is a vampire, whereas Terrence was not." The words seed sarcastic, but I was just stating the fact. They both were very different from each other, from upbringing to who they were inside.
They were too entirely, very different people.
Catherine humd.
I did not expect an answer from her. What would my fourteen year old Sister tell anyway? I expected an answer from my elder sister; Estelle but not Catherine.
"Does it matter if he is a human or if he is a vampire if he loves you?" Catherine said, slowly capturing my attention. "I would rather give a chance to soone who may have to feed on soone else for living rather than be with soone like.."
I knew who my sister was talking about. So, I finished for her, "father."
Catherine lowered her head. "Yes."
