I watched the sunrise from Genevieve’s room. It has been more than a week since she had been gone. I was, to be honest, I could say that I was missing the presence of my younger sister. Watching the sunrise with her and discussing what we going to do in our entire day was sothing I had grown used to and now I realised how much I would miss her presence once she would have been married.

But, she had it easy. I, on the other hand, did not. I have to fight for the way to the crown which Genevieve would never have to do.

Marrying into another Kingdom was one of the easiest tasks a princess could do. Frankly, it for the betternt of the country and treaties.

"Your highness," Taria ca to stand next to . "Should we go and awake princess Catherine?"

I scoffed. Here I was thinking about how to have a crown resting on my head for the rest of my life and Taria’s concerns were about waking up a sleeping princess who was not going to contribute anything to the kingdom or to the turmoil that I was going through.

Catherine was nearly a liability that I had because unlike Genevieve she was not going to help and was most likely to be married to a prince of another Kingdom.

I sighed and straightened my back. "Let us go. I think it is ti will let the little princess know that we have responsibilities on our head other than waking her up."

Taria made a sound of objection, "But, y—your high—"

"Enough!" I raised my hand. "I do not wish to hear what you have to say." I moved forward and the other ladies in waiting opened the door for as I walked down to the chambers was that Catherine stayed in.

"Wake up!" I said loudly as soon as I walked into her bedroom and clap my hands making her get up abruptly.

"What is wrong sister Estelle?" She cald at the sight of having woken up abruptly and started to rub her eyes.

"Stop that." I took her hand and dropped it away from her eye. "Doing that affects your vision."

My words made Catherine grin like an idiot. "You sound like you care for ."

I laughed. "My love," I held her cheek and pinched it lightly. "No Prince would like to wed a princess that would be blind," I stated the fact and watched the smile fall from her face.

I smiled more. "Now, I must inform you of the changes that will be made in the coming weeks. Your beloved sister Genevieve will be married in the ti of two months and you will be left with and in this palace, in lenmore."

I could see the tears forming in her eyes but it did not affect , not in the slightest.

With glazed eyes, my sister spoke, "Why must you hate so much? I am your sister, sister Estelle. We are born from the sa womb."

I waved her off and turned away. "From now on no one will be coming to wake you apart from your lady-in-waiting. I do not want you to be late at the breakfast table and I want you to be fully dress and ready for the day. From tomorrow onwards, your education schedule will change and you will be taught by the best Scholars just like Genevieve was."

Confusion washed over her face and she asked, "But Genevieve was given the education about all of the kingdoms especially about Astria and their ancestors." She looked at with shocked eyes. "Are you? Sister Estelle you cannot! Genevieve would never stand for it!"

"She would be long gone to stand against it," I told her calmly. "It is sister Genevieve, be mindful of that. Also, you are my sister and you must help secure the crown which you can do but not by using your wit rather just getting married to a Kingdom that would back in my journey to the throne."

She stood up from the bed with big fat tears in her eyes. "You cannot do that. Father would never stand with your decision of getting married or even bethroed to soone else!"

I rely blinked at her words. "Father would not be bothered."

She huffed and her tears fell. "That is not what I want to hear!" She pulled at my face making angry.

"I am here to tell you what will happen next. Control the level of your voice, do not make angry!" I gritted out the words. "Do not there to repeat this mistake as a regain. If you ever raise your voice at , I will make sure that that tongue is thrown chopped off!"

Catherine gasped in horror and cried harder. Her lady-in-waiting moved to comfort her. I knew she wanted to chide but she had authority for that, so she just looked down as she hugged my sister.

The waterworks annoyed more than anything. I stepped closer to her and she looked at him. I held her chin and tipped it up. "Catherine, you are young. I have no use of you but show you the next best thing that I can do for you is marrying you off into luxury." I tell her with a calm and pleasant voice. "You have no role in politics. So, learn how to be a good princess and wife."

She sniffed and snatched her chin away. Ah, her arrogance.

I stepped back and walked out when I heard,

"I can be a Queen too. I can understand politics as well sister." She sniffed and looked in the eye. "If I want, I can be one better than you."

"Would you now?" I taunted and Wales back to her. "What makes you think that you will even last a day out there?!" My voice and expressions hardened as I spoke. "A little girl you are, who cannot even wake up in the morning by her lady-in-waiting tells that she can be a Queen? Soone even better than ?" I yelled and everyone flinched.

"I-I can." I heard her say in defiance making arch an eyebrow at that.

"Oh?" I comnted and looked at her lady-in-waiting; Ruby, "Let her go."

"Yo-your Highness?" Her eyes snapped her mine. "Pl-please. . . She is just a child." She pleased.

"A child who knows how to rebel?" I hissed. "Let her go!" She flinched and let go. She had moved only a step back, if needed I knew she would step in.

"You think," I stepped closer to my sister, "That you will beco a better Queen?"

She tipped her chin up and said "Yes—"

I raised my hand and swung my hand across her cheek. "Mind that arrogance with !" I yelled not being able to control my anger anymore. Today Catherine was going to be at the receiving end of it.

She fell to the ground, crying and cupping her cheek.

"I am not Genevieve who would listen to this nonsense and let you do whatever you want. In re weeks, Genevieve is going away to another Kingdom as a bride and the queen to the future throne. Do you know how easy that is?!"

She sniffed and backed away from .

"Being married and getting easy access to The throne is easy than what I do every day and what you talked of doing!" I yelled with all my might. I felt so much anger inside .

"I am fighting day and night for The throne where you will have your ho forever. I am the one who is constantly fighting to let us remain a part of it and you tell that you can do a better job than ?!" I yelled at her and she cried even more. "I am being pulled down by n twice your age you cannot even give a chance soone who is the eldest by blood! You are the one who is having the easiest path which is to marry in luxury and you question !" Is yelled closer but Ruby dropped in front of .

"Your highness, please! I beg of you. She is just a child and she does not know what she is talking about. We are all grateful to you for what you doing." She joined her hands and begged. "please your highness I will make sure that everything is going according to your instructions for Princess Catherine." She gulped as my eyes t hers.

I raised her head and turned to walk out. However, I stopped at the door and looked back at her. "What I do, you cannot even stand half of it. So do not speak of it again to otherwise consequences would be severe than this."

Walking out of the chambers, I now stood in front of the grand door where every corrupt and honest nobleman stood. The day had begun.
