The snacks and a few tasty drinks had managed to fill us all before dinner. But according to Chiara and Tristan, we still had to eat dinner before going to bed because we would wake up in the middle of the night being hungry.

But the way my stomach was filled I knew that I would be far from Hungry in the middle of the night. So now to increase the appetites we had chosen to walk through the market and enjoy it.

All the things here were highly. . . Plain.

I had never worn a cloth that was not silk or cotton and was exported from another Kingdom known for it. I had never worn a cloth that did not have jewels embedded in it. Nevertheless, Gemma bought a few dresses.

They looked like the servant’s nightgown more than sothing I would wear daily. This is why I did not understand why she felt the need to buy more.

"Hmm . . Red would look good on you." She comnted and she glanced at and then started searching for the dress in red colour.

I sighed in exaggeration. This woman shopped more than my mother did and my mother had more money than any woman in the world.

I stepped back and I started walking on my own into the market. It was so vibrant yet loud and crowded. No one watched where they went and sohow no one minded when soone was pushed into them. Instead, they helped them.

Why?

Had it been a nobleman, a future king to be or even a little Prince, it would have been enough for them to declare war or have a grudge held against them.

Yet the people that made us king and Queens were living such simple lives and jewels were the last thing on their minds as they were the first on ours. They wore plain cotton or even rough clothing and it does not matter to them what colour was repeated before. But it was the concern, one of the main concerns, in a princess’s life or a prince’s.

How was it that we were the sa and made from the sa elents of nature yet we were so different?

"What are you thinking about?"

I jumped up at the sudden voice not expecting anyone to talk to especially from standing behind.

I turned around and there he stood. "Tristan," I said and he nodded with a small smile.

"My lady," he bowed his head as he greeted , "I understand that the market can be quite attractive but you must rember that roaming around on your own always attract trouble."

My smile faltered as I rembered the night. To be honest he did not need to tell about the dangers of the night because I had been sold in a very one.

It had been the worst night of my life. The fear I felt. . . .

I sighed and shook my head. "I understand, thank you," I said politely. "Should you not be looking out for all?"

"I am." He answered honestly. "And I would continue to, but then a curious cat always decides to wander off on her own."

My cheeks inflad at that and I imdiately looked away. The curious cat, was I. "Cats are lovely creatures." I mumbled under my breath. I have no idea why I said that when there was no need to say so.

He chuckled and I looked at him. It was a beautiful sound coming from him. From Prince Lysar I found it to be sothing arrogant but from him, it attracted more.

"Cats are also the ones that scratch you when they want."

I narrowed my eyes playfully at him. "Do you not like cats?"

He shrugged his shoulders. "I believe, I prefer dogs but if you prefer to have cats I would love to like them as well."

If possible, my cheeks caught even more fla.

"Well," I cleared my throat and wrapped my shoulders as the cold wind blew and I shivered at it. "It’s cold, is it not?"

He stared into my eyes deeply and I felt being connected to him more. "Yes, I believe it is." He said and then looked at the vendors with a newfound interest.

I frowned imdiately at his behaviour. Did not find the conversation with to be interesting?

How dare he? I have been picking up topics that can be understood by his intellect given, I was taught by the best scholars in the world. If I wanted that I could have made him feel ashad and embarrassed about his intelligence and upbringing.

So much for caring for soone—

"There you go." I felt sothing being placed on my shoulders and I felt the warmth coming from it imdiately. I looked at it and it was a shawl, I would have assud that it was sothing of low quality and what poor won wore but I then glanced closely at it and it was fur.

A rchant had brought a shawl that was made up of fur and I could feel the quality of it. Less than my own, but yes, lovely it was.

"You must not have!" I looked at him who appeared to be watching with keen interest. "I believe this must have been very expensive." I did not want him to spend so unnecessarily on .

He smiled softly and then shook his head. "You were cold and I believe there would be nothing nor no expense that I would not spare for you."

Now I understood what was that feeling when soone tried to woo you. I did not know if he was trying to do so or simply trying to flirt his way for a night but I felt sothing towards him and the more he cared for , the more I fell.

"I think this would go well with the red dress that Gemma was buying for you."

I stared back into his eyes and I nodded. "Yes, It would be perfect." I had a dress to buy.
