Sothing was troubling

But that was not important, what was important was it was not letting sleep.

Turning and tasselling around in the sheets, I threw them of before getting off the bed and walking to the water pitcher.

Pouring myself a glass full, I sipped it slowly hoping that it would help in coming myself down.

As I kept on taking a safe one by one, I massaged my chest where my heart was. Sothing pained but I could not pinpoint on what it was.

I felt highly uncomfortable and even though I was sitting now, I felt the urge to stand up and pace around.

What was happening with ?

Maybe so fresh air would help.

I went outside the room and to the end of the house where there was a backyard before it blended into the jungle.

I did not bother opening the door knowing that the jungle, at this ti, would definitely contain animals deadly and dangerous enough to eat . So I settled on the doorway and stared at the sky.

It was cloudy tonight. Just when I want to see the stars, the sky appeared to be clouded.

Closing my eyes, I grimaced. I just could not shake off the feeling, the feeling of dread that was settling in my chest and not leaving alone.

I just kept on thinking that sothing bad was going to happen but what?

What was going to happen?

Opening my eyes, I gasped and jumped back only to trip on the back of the dress and fall on my bottom.

My eyes closed on the impact and when I opened them I saw nothing in front of the door.

Remaining silent and still, I kept on staring at the door waiting for it to appear again... Him to appear again.

He was there.

I blinked again but now he was not. What just happened?

*****

"Genevieve?"

I jumped and turned around to see Sawyer standing behind with wide eyes and a panicked face.

"Are you alright? He asked with a concerned expression. "You scared for a minute."

Taking a few deep breaths to calm myself, I apologised. "Excuse for doing that. I never ant to scare you, Sawyer."

"That’s fine." He waved it away, " I just wanted to ask, would you like To accompany into the forest? We would just be getting so herbs and wild mushrooms and berries. Don’t worry we won’t be going deep inside."

I nodded, ready to do my share of help. Grabbing my woollen coat and wrapping it around my shoulders before pulling on my head cap, I made my way to the back door before Sawyer.

The familiar feeling of dread settled in just as I opened the door and sawyer behind only to point out sothing.

"Huh, I did not know that my brother has been taking his night walks again. Look he left his muddy shoes marks."

Trailing my eyes to where he was pointing, I found the shoe imprints that he was talking about just in front of the door.

In that second, it felt like my heart felt my stomach. The shoe prints that Sawyer was thinking were his brothers were actually of Tristan’s and I knew that because that was the Royal design. No man could afford having such shoes made. It was the mark left behind by the Royal cobbler and no one could copy it.

That ant he was right there. I was right. He had been there last night and I was not mistaken.

"Uh.." I tried to slow down my breathing but failed miserably in doing so. He was here, he was right in front of last night.

"You don’t have to worry about anything. Mother will clean it on her way when she starts." He chuckled. "We should hurry, you don’t want to miss when she pulls his ear."

I did hurry but not because I wanted to see his brother having his ear pulled by his mother but because I was still processing the information.

"These are good to be taken." Sawyer noted for the mushrooms growing on a branch of a tree. "would you mind picking them out?"

Mindlessly, I started to pull out the mushrooms and place them in the basket given to .

Why would he co here?

But what if he was not here and it was just a fragnt of my imagination?

I had been thinking about him continuously so there could always be a possibility that it was not him and just my imagination.

What about the Who imprint that had been left behind by him? No one else could afford those royal shoes that were only made for the king.

Not even sir Walter who had been working as a secretary and had accumulated enough wealth to purchase them. They were just ant for the king and the royal family.

Overwheld by the thoughts and emotions, I touched my forehead with the tree trunk and let out a weary sigh. Was I thinking too much? Was I thinking correctly?

Wherever he pointed at, I started to pluck out the mushroom or the berries. When it was finally Ti to go back ho, I followed him in a daze still thinking about what I had seen last night and today morning.

He must have left those prints on purpose. He wanted to find them.

A part of still wanted to refuse the reality and for a mont I almost did. When I saw that the prints of the shoes had been cleaned, it beca easier to ignore what had happened.

"Let wash them." Dorothy took the basket for and started to pluck out the berries that had a little bit of stem in them before placing them in a bowl and cleaning them with water.

I choose to sit at the dining table, still thinking about how even without being in front of , Tristan occupied most of my mind.
