I sat there, completely still as I talk in the sight of everyone drinking what could possibly be sothing that could render them out of their senses for at least tonight.

A light tap ca on my waist, making jump.. Tristan pointed to my glass and I picked it up hurriedly before taking a sip.

Of course, I cringed, it was a celebratory toast and I was not drinking it. He had to question it.

Almost everyone kept their glass down with a loud thump after they had finished it. I still had half way to go but kept it down anyway. I needed to be in my senses tonight and the wind was not going to help.

"Everything alright, Genevive? I can feel your heart beat quicker than it did before." Tristan’s whisper made close my eyes.

If he saw that my heart was beating fast before, he should listen to it now. With him being exceptionally close, it was only a matter of ti before my heart stopped beating.

"I-Its fine," I cleared my throat before turning around a little and giving him a short smile.

If it was the contents of the small bottle mixed with the wine and the next question was, when was it going to take effect?

Looking around , it was obvious that no one had imdiate effects. Everyone was a grown-up here and maybe it would take more than a small bottle to get them all unconscious.

My hopes slightly dipped down at the thought. How was the small bottle going to do anything for a lot of vampires that were stronger than anyone I had ever t?

I sighed a little and leaned back before my bag t with a warm surface only for my eyes to widen in return. That warm surface was not a wall.

"Umm,"

"Don’t move," he said from behind , " please allow to have this mont. It has been too long since your touch, Genevive."

It had been.

Even though Tristan had sneaked many monts with I knew as a king he was barely able to do so. Especially with how he had overthrown the previous royal family, he must be extrely busy.

And deep inside my heart, I even knew how long it had been since I had been able to touch him.

So, I leaned a little more and got comfortable before letting my eyes wander around the room.

It was easy to notice everyone when they were not looking at you and almost no one, look at the king.

My friend and her husband were quite happy which ward my heart. She glowed and relished his attention and I was so happy that she found soone worthy enough for her.

The aunt and uncle of the king received attention as if they were the parents of the couple. But that would be given. No one could go directly to Tristan and the one way to warm their way into the hearts of the family was through the parents. Since Tristan did not have parents rather a guardian couple, they were the target.

He sighed Behind and I smiled, assuming that he was just as happy as I was. These monts mattered even if they were stolen.

Slowly the chatter died down and I looked up again. It was a low murmur and I could see the smiles being restrained on the faces of the vampires. What was happening? Was it... Working?

"Excuse ," Camilla, rilyn’s mother-in-law, got up. She staggered before standing up again and huffing. "I.. I feel so tired." She explained with this sheepish expression on her face. " Excuse for a mont."

She could barely take another step before staggering again and one of the won, who I did not rember the na of, got up to help her only for her to stagger herself.

Gas shot out in the entire room and almost everybody got up but so of them staggered before Camila fell down.

I gasped and jumped up to stand. By the ti I did that, more than half of the occupants in the room had fallen to the floor and if the other half were over concerned, they did not get a chance to show because within monts, they were on the floor as well.

The sports that I was standing on, was right next to the chair of Tristan. Kristen was soone who I had not heard yet falling to the ground or making an excuse for not being able to stand up straight.

I could feel the precipitation start to build up on my skin. Was he awake? Did he experience everything?

I was the only person in the room who had not yet fallen unconscious. I gulped, was he going to hold responsible for this?

Slowly turning my head towards him with my eyes drawing blurry inside, I almost released a sigh of relief when I saw him slumped back in his chair with his chin touching his chest.

Tristan was out cold as well.

"Oh my..." The words for shaky, in fact breathless because I felt so.

It was done.

"Oh god.." I stared at Tristan, almost tempted enough to cry. "I.." am sorry.

His head was moving side to side. It felt like if even a little amount of wind blew, it would certainly make him fall down. I did this to him.

"God," I touched my chest. Why did I feel so bad?

"Is it done?"

I turned to face who said that. It was Rula, peeking into the room with a wide smile before she stepped in completely. "It is done! Co in!"

Within seconds, I heard The sound of multiple footsteps coming my way. The heads of multiple servants both n and won, stopped at the entrance of the door and they all stared at the scene that happened in the dining room.

Smiles broke out, whoops were heard and my heart broke with it.
