I was not sure where we were going first. It could be only two places and not work either the court room or the grand ballroom.

But I did not dare to turn around and go back to where Tristan was standing. His presence did various things to my body and I was not going to risk it when I was on the verge of leaving all faith in walking away forever.

According to the event it would make more sense for them to hold it in the grand ballroom and when Tristan joined that was where he led .

I glanced at him.

With the crown on his head and his emotions held back like they were always supposed to, look every bit of the King that he had found himself as. He looked like a king more than my father had ever done.

"Look," he turned his eyes to with a knowing smile and pointed to the front, "that is my uncle Dominik."

My head snapped to the front and I was facing the man that looked to move to the age of sir Dawson.

But when I thought of sir Dawson and him, I could make out the similarities between him and Dawson’s wife.

"Is he..?" I left the sentence hanging in case I was wrong and looked at Tristan for an answer.

"My aunts and my mother’s eldest brother, yes." He nodded as he answered. "You have a wonderful eye, Genevieve."

I blushed under his eyes and the complint which ultimately made look away from him.

"Here you are," an unfamiliar voice rolled out and I found it to be his uncle Dominik’s. He ca close to us and stopped in the front. "Look at what you’ve done to my nephew. All I hear are praises for you."

Dominik smiled and bowed his head, "lady genevieve." He greeted and I curtised.

"Sir Dominick."

"No sir," he waved it off, "you can call Dominick or uncle if you want."

I nodded but he did not look away. The man continued to stare at as if expecting sothing and finally dawned on .

"I suppose Dominik is fine." I shrugged slightly, trying to make it a little less awkward that it was being made by him who found a way to remove his eyes from and turned them to Tristan.

"You were right when she said that she looked more like her mother." His eyes Flickered over to . "She is beautiful as Cynthia was."

Cynthia? "You knew my mother?" I stepped closer to him. "You knew my mother? How?"

"Step back, child," he warned but not with the intent of maliciousness rather in help.

Dominick glanced at Tristan. "Do not need any man unless you are mated. Until then stay close to your beloved."

"What?" My eyes followed him and I looked at Tristan.

Once more I found the man in the worst of ways I had ever seen him. The area around his eyes darkened and the veins dark and significantly making them highlight and him look like a monster.

I knew if he parted his lips and I would see his teeth there would be his fans elongated and ready to pierce my neck.

Taking a step back almost imdiately, I made sure to keep my eyes on him in case he lost control like that day. This ti I did not have many by my side that could control him rather his uncle who I did not trust at the point.

"He controls for you lady genevieve." Dominick drew out his words in a low tone. "Perhaps you could do sothing to calm him down at least?"

"What?" I asked. What was it that I could possibly do and not get hurt at the sa ti?

"Touch him," Dominick pointed to Tristan. "I do not think you are aware of the power you carry. If you try and see."

And he must think that I was stupid enough to get myself killed. I was stupid enough to have myself ripped off my purity and he must think that I was going to repeat the sa mistake again to get rid of my life this ti.

But I did not have the power to say that to the face of a vampire and in the presence of another one who was on the verge of biting my neck or killing soone.

"Uh, Tristan?" I spoke hesitantly. "A-are you right?"

He opened his eyes but imdiately turned his head away.

"Tristan?" I took a very small step, just to look at him when he turned to . His eyes have gone back to normal and for a second I felt relieved.

"I apologise for that." He said with a smile. "I hope I did not dampen your spirits for the evening."

My spirits had not been listed in the first place for them to be dampened, but yes, a new dear was definitely going to stay after seeing his reaction.

"Tristan," Dominick called the man talking to , "I was not aware she did not know how to calm you down. Perhaps your aunt failed to ntion it."

"Then you should take it up with my aunt." Tristan snapped, making flinch. "We are not going to talk about it here and in front of her."

"As you wish," Dominick nodded and then turned to look at , "I think you would like to et soone you are quite familiar with, yes?"

"Who?" I asked Curiously, yet weary of the man.

He smiled and that made more worried. He knew sothing I did not. "He is a dear friend of mine. You have t him a handful of tis and I do not think you would forget him anyti soon."

He turned around and twisted his body to the side before pointing into direction, "there he is."

My eyes trailed behind him and to where he was pointing only to blink in astonishnt.

It was Konrad. The sorcerer, Konrad.
