He stood there with his nostrils flaring, silently staring at and not making a single move, making more and less than before as I just watched him do nothing.
I would much rather have him yell or tie up. Standing there silently only made my nerves jitter more.
"Are you going to say sothing?" I let go and asked. " Maybe you want to have a seat?"
Neither did he reply nor did he make a move to sit.
I looked down at my hands before trying again, "I think you should talk quickly. Your uncle has inford that I need to rest." Hopefully, that might work.
"I know what my uncle told you." He said. "I heard."
None of his expressions changed and he stared at with his eyes as blank as they ever were.
It irritated . So he could answer when he found it to be right and not when I wanted?
"If you don’t want to say anything and you are just going to stand there, you might as well get a book so I can do sothing." I pointed to the door. "Can you ask a mber of the staff to bring any? Any would do for the mont."
At my words he finally closed his eyes and his shoulders slumped. It made it seem like he was. . Lost.
"Tristan," I held my hand out, "do you want to talk about it?"
He shook his head. "Do you want to go? If you say yes then I will."
The frown on my forehead grew more. Why was he talking about that? Was he not the one to bring change and place them on my hands and ankles? What had affected him so gravely?
"I think I would be able to answer that better if you could tell what it is. What happened, Tristan?" I softly spoke, not wanting him to think that I was judging him on the basis of his problems.
He did not answer imdiately and that only left to wonder what it was about. If I ran the events through my mory, the last thing I had witnessed was the crowd being bent on the knee forcefully. The submission was forced on them by the heavy hand of power.
If he was not going to answer my questions or even talk then I would take the opportunity.
I tilted my head slightly, "Tristan, do you rember the conversation we had about peace and harmony? What happened to that this morning?"
His eyes narrowed, "what happened was supposed to happen. There was going to be a rebellion and Lara had to warn them of the consequences."
" What consequences!" I shouted in disbelief. "She told them about your rule, Tristan. The rule that would never cease and the rule that only invokes fear in them because they will never get to where you are! None of them will ever be powerful enough to stand against you—"
"What do you think of the previous royal family? The people sing of standing a chance of winning against them?" Tristan cut off and did not stop speaking. "Fear is what drives them before the respect and understanding cos in which is exactly what I am aiming for. Instead of taking an approach from the heart I am thinking about it practically."
I stared at in stunned silence. "So the peace and harmony was just an inner thought that you would not co anyti soon?" I huffed. "Why even share sothing with that was
. . Never going to stand importance in your life?"
Tristan moved slightly before walking to the window on the corner of the room. The exact opposite of where I was.
He looked outside as he spoke, "I do not lie to you. I don’t think I will ever have the heart to lie to my beloved which is why I told you the truth in my mind."
He told the innermost thoughts he felt?
"Why not do what I told you to then?" I asked not being able to hold back. "Why did you have Lara say all those words?"
Lara’s words did not just have an impact on the people in front of us but they did have an impact on as well. Because I knew that I was never going to be powerful enough to ever empower myself over a vampire.
People knew what was going on but the realisation of her saying it to their faces only made it more dangerous because they knew that everyone was aware of the new change into the food chain.
"Because it beca a necessity." He answered, still starting out. "Think as what of it you want, Genevieve, what are hidden intention was to warn people of the change happening and how they were never going to win. The realisation has to set in their minds so that the thought of rebellion left otherwise they all would have died."
"So having them forcefully bend the knee with all of you glaring at them with your teeth out was just two way to warn them?" I repeated what he said with mild disbelief over the reasoning. "How was it that you could not find a better way?"
He chuckled and looked down before looking at . "If you ever look bad in a dress would you have tell it to you before going in front of people or after when we are alone?"
I blinked at the sudden change in question. " Before the. . of course, before I et people, Tristan."
"Exactly," he said pointedly, "there was no reason to tell them that we are much more powerful than they think after they died."
Well that certainly made sense. They were bluntly making people realise how powerful they were and with the way Lara spoke, it had made it abundantly clear to people that even her voice betrayed how powerful she was without having to exert physical dominance.
"I don’t agree with the. . . Forceful submission but I would rather say that it was a good way to make them realise what you wanted." I realised about wrong that was. "I I an it was rather understandable—"
"I know you understand, Genevieve," he looked at finally and smiled, "I know what you an too."
