Never in my life had I imagined hearing the word queen once again especially when it ca in regards to my future. After having a near-death experience and the one where it ripped off my dignity I was content to where I was.
"I—"
"I am the king," he intervened with a set jaw, "and my wife will be the queen."
Wife, he wanted to make his wife but did he know what I ca with now? Even though I did what I could to forget the horrifying night I could still rember the touches on and I knew that I was ruined for anyone else to have.
"Tristan," I began carefully and looked around to make sure that no one was here, "I hope you rember the night where you found in the worst of conditions. I understand your intentions but I don’t think—"
"Leave my intentions to ." He interrupted again and showed his palm for a clear indication for to stop. If I thought that he was upset earlier than this was much more.
He looked angry.
The red eyes of his grew darker in colour. Almost resembling the colour of blood which made compare to how many tis I have seen them as a bright shade of red. Did this colour resembling blood indicate that he wanted so?
"I have my intentions clear and in the open. I am going to use the chance to woo you and I will propose soon." He took my hand and held it. "And when I am done you won’t be able to say no." He placed a kiss on my hand and before I knew it he was walking away with his back turned to.
I just kept on staring at the empty corridor from where once I had seen him turn to another.
He was going to propose to once when he won over. I found that hard to believe. I found that to be completely hard to believe. Did he not rember what happened to ? I was ruined for any man to have whether he was human or not.
If that night had never happened. I would have been ready for the proposal, expecting myself to say yes but now I could not pay myself to bring upon such sha on him. Perhaps I could just retire or turn myself into the arms of God and serve the temple.
I swallowed nothing and moved in. It’s hard for to think about it. What was he thinking of being with ? Sohow even though I knew that he was coating I had completed the fact that it was done to propose in the end.

"Hmm," Dawson nodded to himself as he took off the cloth on my wound and leaned over to see, "eysenck we have improved a lot. However we are still not in the clear."
He pulled back and stood in front of with disappointing eyes. "You are very weak, Genevieve. I think you should start taking care of yourself otherwise I think my beloved is looking forward to doing it for you."
"What?" I was astonished to hear that. "Why?"
He sighed and took a new cloth and started applying the paste on it as he told , "Our daughter Lara is newly mated and she is barely out of her chambers. My beloved needs a new hobby and I think she is going to pin it on you."
My eyebrows shot up as I could not control my imdiate reaction to that. I thought she hated .
But that was a worry that ca after the question that was in my mind, "Am I going to be able to go to my room now?"
He placed the cloth with the healing paste on my neck with no hurry to answer my question. Once he was done and started to wipe his hands he shook his head with a grave expression. "For a nap or two I think you will be able to, other than that you still have to sleep right and keep an eye on you or one of my apprentices can."
"But you, who are apprentices, can see in my room too!" I argued as I stood up. That was not fair.
"I cannot do anything about it." He gave an apologetic expression in return. "As for my apprentice being in the room, you have to agree that we cannot move every potion and ingredient that is necessary."
He gave a tight lipped smile. "Unfortunately, you still have to heal because we are not going to take the risk of losing you again."
I pursued my lips. "I am a human, sir Dawson. I think it is expected of to have a shorter lifespan than you." I laughed at the and but it ca off as a nervous one because of the expression the man had.
I had intended it to be a joke but with the expression that sir Dawson held I knew it was far from it. It seed like I had touched a sensitive nerve.
I opened my mouth apologize to him, "I—"
"Please," he closed his eyes and shook his head before opening them again, "everyone has one beloved. Hardly it is ever that we are blessed upon a second one and chosen beloveds do not work well. You must understand how we feel when the beloved of our king talks about dying."
Dying? "Sir Dawson, this was just a little joke—"
"I would tell you to refrain from making it in front of anyone ever again." He interrupted again. With stern eyes he continued, "Unlike humans we do not marry again because we simply cannot bear the thought of losing a first wife or husband. I do not think anyone else would tolerate it as I am doing."
Doing did not seem like a better word than trying. "I understand." Yet, I whispered. Even though it made slightly scared of everything.
