The very next morning which was at the mont, we all were ready to go with our bundles packed again but Gemma was not ready to move.
"I do not agree!" She stood firmly with her back against the door. "This could cost us dearly! I am not ready to lead the two you to danger!"
"But it’s just a carriage." I argued, "Gemma, the very least happening could be . . "
"Us getting sold?" rilyn provided the help to find the words for .
Smiling I turned to her and chirped, "I would love it if you understand the situations where your help is required and where you should keep shut!"
I then turned to Gemma with a smile. "What’s the matter? We are travelling with a few people and in a good carriage. What are you feeling worried about?"
"Think of it. Why would they help us without any reason? Would you go out of your way and help soone you have made for a night as far to offer them a seat, not one but three, in your carriage and how big is there carriage to carry her brother, her and us along?!" She huffed for breaths by the ti she was finished.
We were silent as we thought about it. Why would anyone help us like that? Till now I had gained enough experiences to know that life was anything but nice except sotis truly unexpected. And I would not be helping anyone after a day.
Also, my experience at the brothel had proved that. A woman was ready to sell another for coins; gold and silver.
I sighed and threw my bundle at the empty table. "I suppose you are right."
rilyn did the sa but with a more sullen face. After all, he would have to sit next to a cow if I didn’t want to.
"What now?" She asked. seating on the chair next to the table.
Gemma finally stepped back but turned around and looked at the door making and rilyn look at her in suspicion.
"What?" She turned to both of us. "You," she pointed at , "are wanting to go. And you," she pointed at rilyn, "are highly desperate."
rilyn looked at offended by the fact. "I dare you to sit on next to a cow and say that to ." She screeched.
"I guess we wait now." I sighed and fell backwards on the bed. "At least until they leave."
Gemma and rilyn joined on each side and we waited. And fell asleep doing so.
*********
The next ti we woke up it was already the evening. The carriages for the night about to leave. We had hurried up and left the end with your bundles hoping to catch the night one as we have missed the ones that left in the morning.
"Sir! Sir!" We reached for the carriage, "Do you have any seats left?!"
He shook his head, not even watering to glance at our way as he conveyed.
"How is it that every driver is suddenly having a free carriage full?!" rilyn gasped and turned to us as she harshly whispered. "It’s always one carriage or two that has a few seats left and even more empty."
I shook my head. "Maybe, sothing big as a festival or an event might be coming for which everyone is having to the capital tonight."
Gemma frowned even more, "But that would an for the next few days we would have to wait and we can’t any longer."
I and a month at most. The sweating sickness could not be used as an excuse anymore after a month because after that it would be putting my life into grave danger and that would be sothing that prince Terrence would be made aware of.
"We still need to—"
"There you are!" Soone grabbed from behind and turned around. I saw Lara standing in front of with a worried expression on her face. "I was so worried when you did not co in the morning and we decided to wait for you. Finally, you arrive!"
Gemma and I passed each other a quick look of worry. This girl waited for us to arrive for a whole day scread wrong and now even I was scared.
"You shouldn’t have waited for us child." Gemma chided her. "My legs are sore due to my age so we had to wait. I apologize for making you wait but you should have left."
Lara shook her head adamantly. "No no," she smiled and took my hand in hers, "Doesn’t matter. Let’s get to the carriages. My brother awaits."
