He humd lazily before raising his legs and placing them on the table making slide to his chest. I gasped as my shoulder bumped with his chest and I looked up to see him watching with eyes twinkling with amusent.
"You did that on purpose." I accused him.
"I did." He admitted shalessly.
That was the first ti Tristan had been so shaless which only made question it further. "Why?"
He smirked, "you’re not ready for those answers now. Do you still want to know about the pressure you felt on your neck?"
I nodded.
"And are you clear about the wound and what the mark signifies on your neck given by ?" He asked this ti I hesitated because I still had a question or two running in my mind.
"I shall ask you that later but for now I need to know about that." I told him trying to get up from his lap.
Tristan’s hand ca on my stomach, stilling my movents. It was his other hand and it touched my back before settling on my stomach. His entire hand pald my skin.
"As you wish," he said and I gulped. His voice was firm and hard and I do not know why but it attracted more than ever.
"The pressure that you felt on your neck was the dominance my beast asserted on you." I looked at him. "My beast wanted you to submit to your mate."
Beast? "Why would your beast want to do that?"
His finger softly traced the right contour of my face. "Beasts do that to assert their dominance over their submissive mate. It really depends on who is more powerful. If you did more than when you are a beast would make submissive."
"But is it not obvious that I am a human and I will always be inferior to you?" This was sothing that I took as a fat because I would never be able to overpower Tristan.
He shook his head. "When you willingly submit to my beast takes pride in that and it only makes him more protective of you. We would love to provide for you, protect you and love you."
I licked my lips as my mind went back to the morning. "If you want to be willingly submitting then why would you want to fight it back?"
Not once but repeatedly Tristan had commanded in the morning to fight the pressure on my na.
He tsked. "I did not want you to give in because he was forcing you. Willing ans sothing, Genevieve and at that mont my beast wanted you to submit to him in all ways which you would have if I did not make you fight it."
"B-but—" I fell silent and looked away from him as I thought. How was he and his beast different from each other? At the end of the day Tristan was a vampire, a creature of the night and just a beast. So how was it that he was different from himself?
"Go ahead," he said and I glanced at him, "do not keep the questions in your mind."
I hesitated slightly.
"Well then," he leaned forward, "I shall move to my tasks for the day—"
Panic surged through . "No, No!" I shook my head and kept myself seated very firmly on his lap. "You just can’t go—Hey!" I protested when he picked up and placed on the seat next to him as he stood up.
"Tristan, I still want to know!"
He nodded, "one question then," he agreed, "just one question and it can be whatever you want."
This was so unexpected I just stare at Tristan for a mont. Thousands of questions had been in my mind for now and now none of them made their presence.
"Uh . .unm . ."
He raised my eyebrow at my confusion before it finally beca clear on what I had to ask. "Are you and your beast not the sa?"
"No," he answered, "yes we are trapped in the sa body but we are not the sa. He is much more primal and animalistic then I am. His brain works with flight and fight where is I can work situations out."
Ah, the watered down information was all I got but I understood alot from it. "Why so suddenly? Why did he have to pressure into it?"
"It did not just happen now, I have when controlling it since day one." He walked is closer to and ultimately bridge to the distance in between us. "I have controlled it for so long now and when you called us for mating my control montarily slipped because of the shock and that was the ti I beast took over."
I licked my lips at the intensity of the my question. "What would have happened if you had not gained control back?"
His lips parted and I saw his tongue lick his left fang. "That is an answer I know you are certainly not ready for." He whispered and I blinked, looking away.
"Would you have killed ?" I whispered but did not look at him.
His fist gently lifted up my chin to et his eyes. "If I killed you then I would kill myself."
"I have made a lot of mistakes, Genevieve and one of those sit on your neck without your permission." His glanced at the bite. "However, I will always try to atone for it. Which is why, Allen, Solomon, Bert along with nurous Gaurds stood outside the door ready to tackle down if it ca to harming you."
My heart cald down listening to his words. He would not hurt and even though I knew that he was a creature of the night I believed him. "Why are you telling this now?" I could not resist asking, "no one ever tells anything."
Tristan smiled and his fangs flashed in the sunlight.
