~Tristan~

Daruius sat in the the room with Arnold his second in command when the Vampire King entered with his second in command behind him.

Daruius watched with curious eyes, filled with amusent at how the young king was acting and it was obvious why.

"Lover’s spat?"

Tristan hissed at him. His beast surfacing at the remark.

Darius raised his hands up in mock surrender. "Oops," he placed his hand over his mouth, "Forgive ." He winked.

Tristan huffed as he poured himself a drink. "Are you finished or would you like to act more?"

Darius chuckled. "I would love to continue but I don’t think you will appreciate it."

"Damn right I would not,"

"Then you have your answer," Darius raised his hands before letting them hit the couch, "tell where is it that I can find the wolf?"

Tristan threw back the drink in one go before nodding at the king of the north, "Follow ," he said as he moved out of the room.

The night in the palace was much different than it was in the day. The life of the palace during the day was dull and boring whereas in the night was sothing completely opposite.

In the night the creatures ca to life and so did the palace of Astria.

They moved to the dungeons but on a lower level. The level that was extrely guarded because this was the level where they kept every creature that was to be held prisoner.

These levels were much darker in comparison to what was held on the floor above. In this level of the palace where the dungeons were no human ever ca and so did the sunlight making it perfect for them to hold onto their own.

The level above was just a joke and no one paid attention to them.

Every guard that sensed the king coming to them bowed imdiately and kept their weapons down.

"Here," Tristan nodded to the prison cell where the wolf was kept in his wolf form. The guard standing near the cell, opened the door for them.

Darius watched the wolf quizzically before moving in. "He is one of mine," he comnted as he whiffed the air, "but he reeks of sothing else."

"Of what?" Tristan asked but stood outside the cell. "He is one of your own and I can tell that but I do not understand why we feel the need to attack my family, especially my mate."

"That is very concerning," Darius agreed before he crouched down next to the wolf that was unconscious. He did sll of sothing familiar to him. It was so kind of portion that he was not familiar with.

What was it?

He had been familiar with many kinds of portions. As the king, there were many tis when he had to approve of a portion being in the market and this was none of them. This slled putrid, dirty. It slled.

If a passing wolf slled this scent it would be obvious that the wolf was dying or rotting away already.

But the question was how did one of his words get this sent on him especially inside his system. Their slling sense was higher than any so it did not make sense to him.

"What is it?" Tristan brought his friend back to reality, breaking his thought process. "I need to know what you are thinking about this. Is it going to be sothing grave or do we let it be?"

Do they? Darius shook his head as he continued to stare at the wolf. "I need to bring in people for this. They need to determine what is wrong with the wolves in the first place because my wolves do not go federal without any proper reason . . . which I do not see here." He muttered in the end as he rubbed his chin.

Was it going to turn into sothing grave or was it just him overthinking?

He touched the head of the wolf only to take it back. This was unusual yet understandable. The wolf had a high fever which was obvious because the wolf was not in the right state of mind and body as it appeared. But such a high temperature while the temperature on the floor was quite cold did not make sense because it should have co down and the wolf was also not sweating.

None of the signs added up.

Darius stood up with a resigned sigh. "My people were staying in the end if I needed them and now I do." He Turned to walk out. " They will be called here at the first break of dawn to inspect the wolf," who he gave a glance, " if he is alive by the looks of it."

"He would die?" Allan questioned with slight disbelief, "How does that make sense? Feral wolves do not die this soon. They have to be put down."

"They do," Arnold agreed, "but this wolf is not just feral." Arnold did not make his speculations out in the open. Sothing had to be given to this wolf for it to behave this way that he was not sure.

"Say it Arnold," Darius commanded. The king could sense the inner turmoil of the wolf.

Arnold spoke up without any wait, "It has to be sothing that was given to the wolf. Otherwise I do not find any reason for a soldier to turn feral even after the hard training given."

"A portion?" Tristan questioned, "Or a poison?" He proposed.

If the temperature in the room was not cold enough it dropped by many degrees. Poisoning the creatures was not easy because the poison was not in the hands of many and it was forbidden to grow which only made it more daunting than it was already.

Darius cleared his throat as he turned to look at the wolf. "Let us hope that it is not. Because if it is, we are in a lot more trouble than we imagined."
