"What makes you think that he would tell anything?" I asked her in a dry voice. "If anything he would hide every matter from ."
"Why?" She rebuked imdiately. "Are you going to be a traitor?"
"No," I answered without waiting for anything. "Marilyn, you out of all should know for a fact that I would never do anything like that."
"And I do know that," she nodded with a slight nod, "which is why I am telling you to go ahead and talk with him. Maybe that is all you need to do."
All I need to do for what?
I was aware that Marylnn was trying to push in a certain direction but I never felt ready to go there.
"You have to try," she placed her hand on my shoulder, "how do you expect sothing good to co your way if you’re never going to walk towards it first. You must do sothing rather than just expecting it."
I turned to look at her. Marilyn had an encouraging look on her face. I felt slightly conflicted. Marilyn was the only one amongst the group of people that I was amongst constantly who had supported no matter what. Not only that but she had known for a very long ti.
"I will do that." I told her because I trusted her.
After Marilyn went away uncle Dawson entered my room and gave the dicine. I had still not completely healed and since I was a human the dicines were necessary. After that I fell asleep.
Dorothy had taken up in the evening and that was the ti when I had decided to talk to Tristan. At this hour the king retired and he would be found in his chambers relaxing but I did not know what would happen with Tristan since he was different.
"Do you think he would not be working?" I asked Solomon who was walking beside . "I do not want to interrupt anything."
He shook his head. "No, he won’t be busy." And whatever the reason was he did not give it to .
The king’s chambers were different from the queens and they were the most Grand rooms in the entire Palace. Solomon knocked on the doors that had a new crush on them which I did not have the ti to admire because the door was opened almost imdiately.
A young man stepped out, "His highness—" his eyes t mine and he nodded lowering them to my feet, "please, co in," he said and moved back only to open the door much wider than before.
I glanced at Solomon who nodded and stepped back slightly.
Looking at the door which was opened by the young man I moved inside only for it to be close behind .
"His Highness will be here in a few monts," he inford as he stood beside but did not once again raise his eyes from my feet.
I noticed that I had never seen him before. "Who are you?"
He did not look up. "I am Nokul."
"Nokul?" It was certainly a different na and I had never heard of it before.
"Yes," he said with a nod, "it is native."
Ah, I nodded. However I still didn’t understand where it was from but I did not want to hurt his sentints by my constant questioning.
I stayed at his face as his eyes stayed at the floor. This seems to be ridiculous! "Nokul, why don’t you look at ? It is considered rude when you don’t look into soone’s eyes when they are talking." I softly chided.
He shook his head. " In our culture it is rude to look at a woman who is not yet marked or mated."
Marked and mated? Was I not marked?
"Leave," Tristan’s voice echoed and I turned around just as Nokul left the room. He ca closer to and smiled, "you should have told that you were coming to et , Genevieve. You have not waited otherwise."
I objected, "There was hardly any wait Tristan." My eyes moved to the door. "Who was he?"
"Nokul?" I nodded as Tristan guided to the seats. "He is the one who helps dress. He and his brother. You won’t be saying either one of them soon."
I frowned. " Why?"
He didn’t answer. "Tell , what is it that I can help you with?"
I went straight to what I wanted to be answered. "What happened to the wolf?"
The change in his expressions was instant. "That none one of your concerns Genevieve," his family spoke and with a slight shake of head continued, "if anything you should go and rest. I don’t think uncle would agree on giving you more of my blood so you will have to rest and heal on your own."
"But you have to tell how a wolf entered the family quarters." I objected. "These quarters are the most protected and the wolf was standing in the middle of the corridors which ant he got past almost everyone. How is that possible?"
He looked hesitant and there was only one way to pull him out of a shell and tell what I wanted to know.
"Your aunt told about Darius and how he is the king of Werewolves." I told him. "Does it have sothing to do with that?"
He huffed. "I am irritated by the antics of my aunt. There is a reason why she should have told you any of this and clearly there was none."
"None?" I felt slightly hurt.
He nodded. "You have refused to give this a chance. If you cannot give us a chance I cannot consider that you want to quickly tell you everything that you want to know. I would be putting all of us in jeopardy."
I gulped. He rembered.
"Of course, I did." He chuckled, as if reading my thoughts. "And I am waiting for your answer."
