On her plate lead a bloody mass of at. I wanted to think twice before saying the word et because all I could see was the blood on the plate.

"Do you really have to do that?" Tristan’s calm voice made blink away from the bloody sight. "We should try and not overwhelm her on her first day."

Chiara gives him an innocent smile. "When you have to understand that I’m doing this within reason."

"What reason?" Tristan all but spat the word out. One could say that he was getting annoying because his grip on the fork was tightening by every passing mont.

"She has to begin learning everything one day. I would rather have her observe everything before making peace with it." She then picked up her fore as I watched and cut into the bloody mass. "This is the very first part of it."

I gulped it down. Whatever it was, it ca up my throat. I could feel the sensation of bile rising up in my throat and I tried to keep it down as much as I could.

But when I saw Chiara chew and smile at with blood on her teeth I could no longer control it.

I felt my chair being pulled back and with the blink of an eye I was in front of a bucket where I emptied the contents of my stomach.

When I no longer felt anything but the bitter aftertaste in my mouth I heaved slightly and stood up straight. Imdiately a glass of water was held out to and I took it. Gargling so water in my mouth, I threw it in the sa place before drinking it. "Thank you," I said before I turned to see who had helped .

Tristan.

He stretched his hand in between us, "drink so more." He whispered as he glanced down to see a glass of water.

The tumbler made the water appear dark in colour which reminded of the bloody side making close my eyes and shake my head softly denying the offering he had made.

He sighed and handed it over to a maid who left upon taking it from him. "She did that on purpose."

"She is angry with ."

"Well she has no right to be," he snapped, "this is our matter and we shall take care of it."

I gulped, nodding slightly and looking at the wall rather than looking at his face. "I never thought of her like that." I spoke my thoughts loudly.

The concern he had in his eyes when I glanced at them was overwhelming. "I am her sister’s son, the deceased sister’s son. She feels protective over because my mother is not there to help you."

"Deceased?" I repeated the unexpected words, "what happened to her?" I asked out of curiosity.

He blinked and I saw him retreating back into his shell as his face turned emotionless and the concern in his eyes vanished. "Nothing we can do about it now. I don’t think you would like to have breakfast in the dining room. Would you like to have it sent to your room?"

"I don’t have an appetite."

He nodded, as if it had appeared in his mind that might be the possible outco of the situation too.

We stared at each other as we fell silent having nothing else to talk about. I felt compelled to talk to him. Any topic that I could have opted on My mind told to just talk to him.

But why was I feeling forced by myself?

"I think you s—"

"How do you—"

Both of us fell silent once we realised that we had started to speak together.

"You—"

"You—"

We fell silent again before he dipped his head to let out a hearty chuckle and I smiled. He nodded his head to , "what were you saying?"

I looked out of the window that overlooked the capital along with many others. My question had been spot on. "I wanted to know if I could go out or not?" I changed it.

"No,"

I stepped to the side slightly as Tristan glanced behind to who had answered. It was his aunt.

Standing between has yet to the side she said, "you would not be going out without any guards. Also it is not safe for any offers to move out in public at the mont." She inford and then turned to Tristan. "I think you should go to court but before that please have your breakfast."

Tristan looked at instead of replying to her. "Solomon will take you back to your assigned quarters. I will have fruits sent for you."

I nodded, aware of the shrewd woman watching . She definitely reminded of my governess that I once thought I had thankfully left behind.

"Please, rember that she is my beloved." He requested his aunt yet it seed like he was just giving her an order politely.

The woman waited until Tristan had walked back into the dining room before turning to and narrowing her red eyes. Now I noticed how that in the family had red eyes.

"It was far more overwhelming than I thought it would be for you," she glanced at that bucket containing vomit which I avoided looking at , "I think we should start from the basics."

There were basics? I don’t think that she would beco a very good governess.

"Oh yes," her eyes twinkled, "we have a culture that we follow along with traditions—" her eyes widened and so did mine as I yelped and looked at the sound behind us.

In front of us, stood a very large dog that had spit dripping from its mouth and eyes that were turned to red. Its tail raised up high in the air along with the hair in front of it. The dog was ready to pounce on us.

It did not take more than a mont to realise that this dog had gone feral.
