Chapter 33: 033 Khan will take you out for a stroll (first update)

Yelu Yan halted his previously slightly frantic pace and walked leisurely over, directly to the window, and stood opposite her. He opened his mouth to ask, “What are you doing here?”

Li Xianyun hastily adjusted her clothes in a bit of a panic, but fortunately, the neckline of her nightgown wasn’t very low, and nothing was exposed.

Her red lips slightly parted as she said, “This concubine couldn’t sleep and wanted to catch a breath of fresh air.”

Li Xianyun paused for a mont, then asked, “Khan, do you have any matters to attend to?”

Yelu Yan’s late-night visit must certainly be for so urgent matter, but what could it be?

Yelu Yan gazed at her slightly pale face, and his voice, magnetic and textured, began to rise.

“I heard so noises from your room just now and thought you might be in danger, so I ca in to check.”

Upon hearing his words, Li Xianyun was quite moved. The last ti soone broke into her room, Yelu Yan had also co to her rescue like this. He always provided a trendous sense of security.

Li Xianyun softly said, “I thank the Khan graciously.”

Yelu Yan looked at her.

Li Xianyun, sowhat flustered, shifted her gaze to the side. His profound tiger-like eyes were dark and bright, intimidating, and hard to look directly into.

“Are you troubled by sothing?” Yelu Yan inquired.

She had always been so cheerful, lively without losing tranquility, so this heaviness of heart was sothing he had never seen before.

Li Xianyun glanced at him, then looked away and said, “I just had a nightmare, and now I can’t sleep.”

Her deanor was coy and cute, with a hint of being wronged.

Yelu Yan’s eyes grew deeper as he said, “Dreams are all fake.”

A gentle breeze ca, fluttering the loose strands of hair on Li Xianyun’s forehead, moving softly like grass in shallow water, supple and pleasing to the eye.

Li Xianyun whispered, “This concubine knows.”

But the dream had felt so real, real enough to frighten her.

Yelu Yan gazed at her and said, “This Khan will take you out for a walk.”

Li Xianyun quickly lifted her head and said, “There is no need, Your Majesty. You have many official duties, and I mustn’t disrupt your rest.”

She didn’t want to be alone with Yelu Yan, didn’t want to beco too entangled with him. Living their separate lives, calm and peaceful, wasn’t that nice?

“Let’s go,” Yelu Yan glanced at her and turned to walk outside.

His deanor couldn’t be clearer, leaving no room for refusal.

Li Xianyun looked down at her nightgown, which was not quite appropriate for going out. She went to the coat rack, took an overcoat to cover up, and stepped out to follow him.

When she walked out, she saw Yelu Yan waiting at the door. His tall figure bathed in moonlight and lamplight cast his shadow on the ground, making his handso face even more distinct, his features even more sculpted.

He was a rare sight of masculine beauty, exuding a daunting virility, both domineering and majestic.

Upon seeing Li Xianyun erge, Yelu Yan said to the maids and palace servants in a subdued voice, “No need to follow.”

The crowd hurriedly bowed and said, “Yes.”

Zhuo Ma’s heart blossod with joy upon hearing this.

Youlan was quite fearful of Yelu Yan, feeling as if a single glance from him could steal her soul, but seeing how tenderly he treated Li Xianyun made her very happy as well.

As long as her Family Head was well, that was all that mattered.

Li Xianyun gently bit her lip and walked over slowly until she stood before Yelu Yan, looking up at him.

In the beautiful night, her eyes, like tranquil waters, seed to hold the stars and the sea, spirited and lovely, her entire being innocent and adorable.

Yelu Yan took the cloak passed by a palace servant, unfolded it, and carefully draped it over Li Xianyun.

The palace servants and maids inside the room were stunned by this sight; their Khan had always been cold and icy, like a mountain of snow in winter, and they had never seen him showing such gentle and considerate behavior.

Li Xianyun turned her head to glance at the cloak, and with surprise in her eyes, she looked up at Yelu Yan.

Yelu Yan glanced at her and, as he tied the clasp of her cloak, he said, “The wind is strong at night, be careful not to catch a cold.”

“But you…”

But you will be cold too.

Her words ca out sowhat suggestive, so Li Xianyun stopped herself.

Yelu Yan, adept at discerning people’s thoughts, of course knew what she wanted to say. His lips curved upward as he said, “I have thick skin and flesh, I’m not afraid of the cold.”

Li Xianyun pursed her delicate red lips and said no more.

Yelu Yan’s hand, tying the ribbon, accidentally touched her chin. Li Xianyun felt the spot he touched burning, and from there, heat spread across her entire face.

After Yelu Yan had finished tying her cloak, he lifted his hand to extract her hair from the back of it.

As he drew out her hair, he nearly held her in his embrace.

The two of them were very close, less than half a foot apart.

Li Xianyun could sll Yelu Yan’s fresh scent and feel the warmth of his breath. Her whole being felt unwell, her head buzzing, her face as if scorched by fire.

Fortunately, Yelu Yan quickly pulled her hair out from the cloak. Her waterfall-like hair cascaded down, going past her slender waist.

Yelu Yan took a step back, looked down at her, and said, “Let’s go.”

“Alright,” Li Xianyun said, her head bowed slightly as she followed him out.

Yelu Yan saw that she had not kept up and stopped in his tracks.

Seeing this, Li Xianyun had no choice but to quicken her pace and catch up with him, walking by his side.

It was mid-August, and the moon was a large oval, its bright light generously illuminating the two figures, casting their shadows onto the stone-paved ground.

In the world of shadows, the two were very close, creating a feeling of intimacy.

Li Xianyun tried not to look at the shadows on the ground and hoped Yelu Yan had not seen them either.

The two strolled slowly, leaving the vast Khan Palace, andering through the corridor, and then arriving beside Qingyan Pool, the place where the Princely Heir had nearly drowned.

In the moonlight, Qingyan Pool’s surface rippled, shimring with light, tranquil and beautiful.

Now and then, a small fish would leap out, creating a gentle “plop” before disappearing beneath the surface, leaving expanding ripples in its wake.

The pool also housed many thriving water lilies.

The lotus leaves, small and round, neatly covered the water surface, with pink and white lotus flowers distinguishable in the bright night, peacefully lying atop the clear water.

The scenery was so enchanting that Li Xianyun could not help but stop to admire it, Yelu Yan pausing beside her.

“Do you like watching the lotus flowers?” Yelu Yan asked as he looked at the lotus flowers in the distance.

“Yes,” Li Xianyun replied, “I like them very much. They rise from the mud untainted, cleansed pure and unadorned.”

She also wished to be like the pure lotus, graceful and composed, untangled from worldly matters, living a simple and serene life.

Yelu Yan quietly accompanied her, and after a while, said, “There’s a place… that’s perfect for viewing lotus flowers.”

Li Xianyun turned to look at him and asked, “Where?”

“Would you like to go?”

Li Xianyun nodded her head.

Yelu Yan slowly approached her.

He was so tall, his stature enough to intimidate.

Li Xianyun instinctively stepped back, her heart racing with a thumping sound, unsure of what was happening.

Yelu Yan walked up to her, bent down, and scooped her up in a crosswise carry.

Li Xianyun let out a soft exclamation, tightly grasping Yelu Yan’s clothes, and timidly lifted her eyes to look at him, calling out, “Khan.”
