Rissa nodded sharply, her expression grim, then she led Viana through the palace’s winding corridors. Their footsteps were muffled by thick carpets as they moved into the quieter, cooler lower levels.

They descended into the quieter, cooler lower levels, and eventually, they reached Rissa’s laboratory, its heavy oak door standing guard over her secrets. She pushed it open, revealing an organized chaos that was utterly her own.

Unlike the bright, organized alchemy rooms elsewhere in the palace, Rissa’s space was filled with shadows and strange scents, a deep earthy slls.

Stone tables were laden with strange apparatuses, not the polished glass and gleaming tals of the royal alchemists, but rough-hewn mortars, curious clay vessels, and intricate filtering systems made of woven reeds and fine sand.

There was a low furnace burning steadily, adding warmth to the room. The air was thick with the scent of minerals, processed earth, and old roots.

Rissa walked to a series of shallow clay dishes arranged neatly on a large table. Each contained a small mound of blighted soil, but within three of them, had a faint shimr of barely visible green, but undeniably present.

"These," she explained, her voice hushed with the reverence of a true practitioner, "are soil samples of the blighted earth, treated with my preliminary reagents. The blight... it erases the land’s ability to rember how to grow life. My reagents begin to restore that mory, to reawaken the soil’s natural balance. But the process is unstable. The effect fades too quickly. The Desert’s Embrace, Princess, has a unique property."

She looked at Viana, her eyes burning with certainty.

"Its roots, its petals, even its leaves hold a rare crystalline compound. It acts as a stabilizer. It locks the revitalized essence, allowing the soil to retain its mory to growth, to resist the blight’s erasure. It’s the anchor."

Viana knelt, studying the faint green shimr in the treated soil. It was almost invisible, but undeniable real. A spark of hope.

Rissa was doing sothing profoundly different, sothing that bypassed the usual alchemical principles entirely.

"The Desert’s Embrace," Viana murmured, standing again. The mory in her mind sharpened.

She rembered in past life, that once there was a rumor about that flower, that it would bring the desolate land into fertile ground once again. She thought it was just an issue, spread by those who aid to weaken the kingdom during the other kingdom invasion to Elysia.

She rembered, too, how desperately unobtainable it had been in her past life.

"Yes," Rissa confird, watching Viana closely. "It only blooms in regions where the air is dry, almost devoid of humidity. It absorbs minerals from dry rock, turning the harshest conditions into nourishnt. A single drop of rain... destroys it instantly... it vanishes, leaving behind a faint, sweet vapor."

She took a deep breath. "I believe it grows in the most desolate, highest plateaus of the eastern deserts, perhaps near the borders of the Sunstone Wastes. It is a long, arduous journey. And dangerous."

The room fell silent.

Rissa’s lab was silent, heavy with the weight of revelation. The faint shimr of green in the treated soil was barely visible, but it carried a fragile hope.

Viana stared at it, then looked at Rissa, her expression fierce with a sudden, fierce determination. The Desert’s Embrace. A flower of legend, that thrived in the very conditions destroying Elysia.

It was a desperate gamble, a nearly impossible quest, but it was a chance. A path forward where none had existed.

"This is it," Viana finally stated, her voice quiet but firm with conviction. "This is our answer."

She didn’t question the absurdity of the idea, no matter how unlikely it seed. After everything she had seen, after the terrifying accuracy of her mories, logic didn’t matter.

She carried a burden of foresight, a crushing knowledge of what *could* be. And she knew, with absolute certainty, that this was the key. Their final hope.

She went straight to King Clive’s private study, her decision weighing on her like armor.

He sat behind his desk, maps of the ruined land spread before him. The King, his face etched with worry lines that seed to deepen with each passing day.

He listened intently as Viana explained everything, about Rissa’s findings, the strange properties of the Desert’s Embrace, and the dangerous, arduous journey required to obtain it. His expression remained stoic, but Viana, knowing her father, could see the tension in his jaw, and the way his hands clenched.

He didn’t agree imdiately. He frowned, his brow furrowed with deep concern. There was a silent plea in his eyes. "The eastern deserts, Viana?"

His voice was low, rumbled with worry. "That land is harsh, full of dangers. And it is far from our established routes. And the Sunstone Wastes... few return from there. You are the Princess of Elysia. You belong here, within these walls, leading us, protecting the kingdom through this crisis. Your life is too precious to risk on such matter."

His words were those of a king, but also a father, grappling with the impossible choice between his duty and his deepest fears.

Viana t his gaze, steady and unshaken. "My duty is where I can help the most, Father. If this flower can heal our land, can purify our land, to reversing this insidious decay, then I must be the one to retrieve it. No one understands this blight as I do. No one else has seen what I have seen, felt what I have felt concerning this blight. I know this is the right path."

Her voice was calm, but there was desperation beneath it. She wasn’t just making a choice, she was carrying the weight of a past life’s failure. She couldn’t let history repeat itself, she must prevented the history from repeating itself. She had to save Elysia.

King Clive studied her, recognizing the unshakeable resolve in her eyes. His daughter had changed, once she was fragile, now she had beco a force. He had learned to trust her instincts, no matter how unlikely they seed.

He sighed, the sound heavy with the weight of his crown, a reluctant acceptance dawning in his weary eyes. He was a King, but he was also a man who had learned to trust his daughter’s uncanny wisdom in the face of insurmountable odds.

"Very well, my daughter," he said at last. "Your conviction... is strong. But you will not go alone. Joel and Reyes will go with you. And Arden Daelis... he will accompany you."
