Arriving at the Black Crow Guild, Zhao Li Xin strode across the room without a care staring at him, mostly because her temperant and the aura he exuded were overwhelming. Zhao Li Xin's eyes imdiately fell on Nathalie who was already waiting for him with a polite smile.
"Mr. Zhao, I have—"
"I need clothes" Zhao Li Xin cut her words off.
Nathalie pursed her lips, then she looked at Zhao Li Xin's unkempt appearance. Then she understood and nodded, "Of course, please follow to the VIP room."
Zhao Li Xin followed Nathalie to the VIP room while people stared at his back, wondering what Zhao Li Xin's identity was.
Nathalie opened the door and then invited Zhao Li Xin in before she left she asked "Do you have any requests for what kind of clothes you want?"
Zhao Li Xin pondered for a mont then said "Simple and fireproof, make it black if you can"
"Of course" Nathalie bowed then closed the door.
Being alone in the quiet room made the sound of his heart beat louder, and with each passing minute, he felt breathless with impatience to fly to where Lory was.
Zhao Li Xin closed his eyes and took a deep breath trying to calm himself down. He kept reminding himself how strong and resourceful Lory was, so there was no way she would enter a dangerous place without proper preparation, furthermore, Lory wasn't alone...but, that was probably the problem. Lory was strong but that didn't an she was omnipotent, many things could happen and Lory could be reckless when it ca to other people's safety like what happened when she let herself kidnapped by Bella and her group to protect Lilly so the possibility is still there so how could he's not feel worry.
A knock on the door snapped Zhao Li Xin out of his reverie. A mont later, the door opened, and a male employee entered to deliver a new set of clothes for Zhao Li Xin.
"Your clothes, sir." The male employee placed the clothes on the coffee table and then bowed politely before leaving the room.
After the male employee left, Zhao Li Xin turned his gaze to the new clothes placed on the coffee table. He tested it by burning the edges of the clothes with a low-level immortal fla.
Unexpectedly, the clothes did not burn or leave any burn marks, proving that Natahlie had heeded his request. Although he wasn't sure if the clothes could survive if he used the immortal fla at full power, for now, it was enough, and it ca in black color too, how satisfying.
Not long after Zhaolixin finished changing his clothes there was a gentle knock on the door.
"Co in" Zhao Li Xin gives permission.
Nathalie opened the door, but she was not alone. She takes a side to let Lawrence in. Soon after a sturdy-looking old man entered with an imposing manner. Zhao Li Xin only glanced at him briefly and continued to put on his leather gloves without any rush.
"I hope the clothes suit your taste Mr. Zhao" Lawrence takes a seat on a single chair and smiles.
"It's okay," Zhao Li Xin replied flatly, after he finished he walked to the chair across from Lawrence and sat down.
The two n didn't speak right away, they stared at each other in silence. Instantly the air in the room seed to be sucked out and Nathalie felt like she was being crushed by a mountain. At this mont Nathalie regretted being in the room, she should have gone to get a drink and co back when they started talking.
Lawrence observed the man before him carefully. The aura that this man exuded showed that he was a man who stood above everyone, he was probably soone with great influence.
Honestly, he was more interested in Zhao Li Xin's identity than Jane Raven especially when he heard Zhao Li Xin had a talent in blacksmithing and to the Black Crow Guild, a talented blacksmith was far more valuable than powerful gifted people, if only he could recruit him but it seed that it would not be an easy task.
"I'm glad you are safe and well Mr. Zhao, would you like to share what you find in the Labyrinth?"
Zhao Li Xin sits cross-legs in a relaxed manner without appearing pompous or brash on the contrary he looks dignified and regal like a king facing his vassal.
"I have never been to the Labyrinth before so I don't know the difference with any other Labyrinth but that place was indeed sward with high-level beasts," Zhao Li Xin said.
"Is there any Elysian crystal, the previous hunter that survived said they found a lot of Elysian crystal there" Nathalie was eager to know.
"No, I don't find any.." Zhao Li Xin answers straightforwardly.
"What? how could that be? Are you sure?" she asked with an accusing tone, and Lawrence also got curious.
Zhao Li Xin didn't bother whether they were suspicious about him or not, his expression remained placid like the surface of the lake. Zhao Li Xin rested his head on his fist as he replied calmly, "Maybe soone took it first, perhaps they were there before …" Zhao Li Xin wondered if that was the case, then no wonder he didn't find the Elysian crystal and that was what led them to the bottom of the Labyrinth.
Zhao Li Xin guessed that they split their group into two, one went to the bottom of the labyrinth to make sure nothing disturbed the gate while the other group was probably tasked with gathering resources in the labyrinth, which would explain how the other group was able to respond so quickly when they were called. However, Zhao Li Xin is still confused as to why they blew up the labyrinth. From the way they talk about it, the place was very important for them yet they destroyed the whole place...wait a minute! How could he be sure the whole place was destroyed, or better question is, was the gate destroyed?
'Am I being fooled?' A rather sinister smile grew behind his fist.
"Soone?" Lawrence squints his eyes.
"The Paladin" Zhao Li Xin states matter-of-factly.
At the mont the atmosphere inside the room was extrely high, Nathalie was utterly shocked and Lawrence's expression darkened.
"You sure?" Lawrence examined Zhao Li Xin's face to see whether he lied or not.
"They told so before I killed them..." Zhao Li Xin said indifferently.
The intensity of the room increased once again, Nathalie's face turned white as a sheet even Lawrence could not maintain his calm expression anymore "You...killed them, how many of them...?" Zhao Li Xin's brows furrowed as he tried to rember, "It's not my habit to count how many people I've killed... Maybe five, ten, well, I'm not sure..." he waved his hand casually as if the one he had killed was a chicken or a dog.
Zhao Li Xin's words made her entire body go cold because she could see that Zhao Lixin was not pretending to be indifferent or cold, no! the man really didn't care how many people he had killed. Nathalie had t many hunters and soldiers like Garrof and Lloyd whose emotions were easily stirred up whenever their past issues ca up. It was understandable because whatever the reason is, taking another human life was not a simple matter, but this man…
He had a face as beautiful as a god in a painting, but his eyes were darker than a bottomless abyss. There was no doubt that this man was a cold-blooded killer.
Nathalie wasn't wrong, Zhao Li Xin's love for Lory might change so of his attitudes, his actions, and his world view but it doesn't necessarily change his nature, what happened is Zhao Li Xin hides his nature, he burry it deep inside of his heart so it never seen the light still, nevertheless his vile nature remain exist.
Nathalie held her breath, her mouth opened and closed but no words ca out, at the sa ti, Lawrence's expression stiffened, he subconsciously gripped the arm of the chair.
"You know why they were there?" Lawrence looks inquisitively.
Zhao Li Xin's eyes glint dangerously "You sure you want to know why?" knowing the reason aning Lawrence and the black crow guild would get involved in this matter, that itself will put the entire Guild a great risk and Lawrence understands that.
He let out a deep sigh "Fair enough"
Zhao Li Xin thought Lawrence was quite smart, "If there's nothing else to ask, I'll ask for your help to send to my wife's place"
"Do you want to go to Brinwell?" Nathalie ask.
"Yes, I want to go there as soon as possible," Zhao Li Xin's eyes were filled with urgency.
Lawrence took a deep breath as he pinched his Glabella. "We can help, but it won't be cheap, without a big compensation people will think I'm doing you a big favor which will raise people's suspicions towards my guild and that doesn't benefit or my Guild," Lawrence explains.
What Lawrence ant by 'people' was the S.A.I.N.T. organization because he was afraid that when the organization found out about Zhao Li Xin's actions it would implicate his Guild and he already had enough problems with the mysterious group targeting high-class hunters.
Zhao Li Xin also did not feel offended, a mutually beneficial relationship was a natural thing for him, in fact, he felt more comfortable with this kind of relationship.
Zhao Li Xin tapped his index finger on the arm of the chair, then rembered his discovery. Zhao Li Xin stood up and then took his bag.
"When I was in the labyrinth, I didn't find the Elysian crystal, but I fought with the Golem and I took a fragnt of the creature's body." Zhao Li Xin took out a piece of stone from his bag and placed it on the table.
Nathalie and Lawrence widened their eyes in surprise at the shiny brown stone. With trembling hands, he picked up the stone.
"This is a stone I found after I defeated a monster called a golem, but I've never seen a material like this, so I don't know how much it's worth." Zhao Lixin said.
"Around two hundred million Roms, but if it's this big, it should be worth five hundred million Roms," Lawrence's voice was heavy with emotion as he held the stone that was three tis the size of his palm.
