Etienne and Nairobi rushed at Ms. Friendly, running straight past the other criminals. Ms. Friendly stood still and watched them. Nairobi reached in her pocket and unleashed a volley of screws on Ms. Friendly. Ms. Friendly held up her bronze arm. The dials and gauges embedded in her arm as she created a force field, stopping the screws in mid-air and letting them fall to the ground softly.
She shook her head and smacked her teeth, "You’ll have to do much better than that."
Etienne closed the distance between them and stabbed at her with his Totska knife. Ms. Friendly put her bronze arm up and let the knife stab through her hand. She punched Etienne away with her other arm, causing him to fly back a short distance.
Ms. Friendly pulled the knife out of her hand and examined it before throwing it away like so much trash.
"Screws and kitchen knives? Is this really all the heroes in Oregon can manage?" Ms. Friendly spat out.
Ms. Friendly sauntered over to Etienne as he readied a few shurikens.
"Ninjaman. Last ti, my boss reprimanded for using my powers recklessly against you. So this ti, I’ll beat you without them."
Etienne threw the shurikens at Ms. Friendly, and she held her bronze arm up and froze the shurikens in place before letting them drop.
Etienne scoffed, "I thought you weren’t going to use your abilities, Ms. Friendly!"
Ms. Friendly looked at him, confused, "I didn’t. This arm can control and manipulate electromagnetic fields. It’s a neat trick, and useful against simple attacks like throwing weapons and projectiles, but it’s not one of my abilities."
Etienne pulled another knife from his hoodie and rushed at her.
Ms. Friendly held her forearm up like a shield and blocked his onslaught of attacks, "I’ve heard a lot about your tricks from my associates. You can blow out lights without moving a muscle, you can switch places with your shurikens, you can mark objects and make people switch places with them. Am I right so far?"
Etienne remained silent as he continued his onslaught of attacks, now picking up the pace.
Ms. Friendly continued to block the attacks, "There’s more though, isn’t there, Ninjaman? I can feel it...I wonder why you’re holding back against us? GoGo said he saw sothing in your eyes like sothing he’d never seen before, where is that spark now?"
Etienne attacked even faster, causing Ms. Friendly to stumble slightly. She used her other arm to block, and Etienne got a shallow cut on it. Ms. Friendly winced in pain and punched him away with her bronze arm.
She watched as he slid backwards and attempted to catch himself.
"Man, you are light," she comnted, "And you..."
Ms. Friendly turned her attention to Nairobi. She held a giant nail in her right hand, and a hexagonal tal nut floated above her head and spun slowly.
Ms. Friendly nodded in approval, "You’re looking like a hero now."
Nairobi pointed the nail at Ms. Friendly, and the tip extended quickly. Ms. Friendly swiftly dodged the nail before it could pierce her and started running toward Nairobi. The tip of the nail retracted and extended again, and Ms. Friendly swiftly dodged it without stopping her running.
As she ran, Ms. Friendly looked at the ground and noticed the shadow getting larger. She looked up in the air and dodged at the last second as a giant screw pierced the ground.
Ms. Friendly dodged back a few more steps and scanned the sky. After a few seconds of this, she turned her head slowly and smiled at Nairobi.
"Oh, I like that one! You don’t have as much compassion for your enemies as Ninjaman, that will take you far!"
Nairobi did not respond, instead, she pointed her nail at Ms. Friendly’s new position and let it extend.
Ms. Friendly dodged it, but before she could make another move, Etienne struck her in the face and she stumbled backward.
She held her hand over her face for a few seconds before letting it drop and revealing a nosebleed that dripped down to her chin.
She smiled wide, wider than her mouth looked like it should allow. She looked left and right between the two of them.
"You two have got it! So, what do you think? Can you beat ?" She taunted.
Etienne thought to himself, "I just punched her full force, and all she has is a nosebleed. She’s extrely tough."
A short distance away, Nafeez yelled out, "Damn it, Ms. Friendly, can you forget about them and help us? He’s the ranked hero here, they are just nobodies!"
Ms. Friendly chuckled and shook her head. She yelled out, "These two are more trouble than they look. You’ll have to handle him on your own!"
Ms. Friendly turned to the two of them and started approaching Etienne slowly, "Now, where were we?"
