Chapter 46: Chapter 47 Visiting the Market

Ye Qichi returned to the carriage with Lu You and Xiao Wu.

Lu You couldn’t help but ask, "Miss, who was that curator you went to see? Why was he so handso?"

Ye Qichi smiled, "Do you like him?"

"No, no, no, how dare a servant like

fancy such a noble person." Lu You quickly explained, afraid of being misunderstood by Ye Qichi.

It must be said, the class division in ancient tis was too apparent; a woman like Lu You, who entered servitude, could only beco a concubine or a chambermaid.

Ye Qichi seed to be in deep thought.

"However, I still think the Prince is more handso," Lu You suddenly concluded.

Ye Qichi laughed in disdain.

She simply scoffed at Xiao Jinxing.

"Speaking of which, Miss, how do you know these people? I have never seen you interact with outsiders..." Lu You was incredibly curious.

Ye Qichi didn’t even bother to respond to Lu You, and she lifted the curtain and said, "Xiao Wu, stop for a mont."

Xiao Wu promptly stopped the carriage, "What’s wrong, Miss?"

"Park the carriage to the side. I want to take Lu You for a stroll in the market."

"But Miss..." Xiao Wu felt troubled.

"Your Prince only asked you to supervise , not to restrict ," Ye Qichi stated bluntly.

Xiao Wu didn’t dare to object and hurriedly responded respectfully, "Yes."

Ye Qichi exited the carriage.

Lu You followed beside Ye Qichi, filled with both fear and excitent, her eyes brimming with curiosity.

Xiao Wu parked the carriage and quickly followed their steps.

This was also Ye Qichi’s first ti strolling such streets. In the apocalypse, there were no bustling crowds, only scenes of desolation and ruin everywhere, bleak and broken.

Stepping into such a crowd for the first ti, she also felt a hint of novelty.

And watching all the various knick-knacks being sold on the street also brought her much joy.

She and Lu You bought quite a bit. The two of them walked along while eating candied haws, with Xiao Wu struggling behind them, carrying all the trinkets they had purchased.

As they walked along.

Ye Qichi suddenly stopped.

Lu You, seeing the signboard of the shop in front of them, blushed, "Miss, that’s a brothel."

No wonder it was so brightly coloured.

"Miss, let’s hurry along," Lu You urged.

Such places were no place for proper ladies like themselves.

Ye Qichi glanced at the courtesans greeting guests at the entrance, pondering that she should also experience the pleasures of n soti.

"Where is the vegetable market?" Ye Qichi asked Xiao Wu.

Clutching an assortnt of knick-knacks, Xiao Wu quickly replied, "Miss, it’s at the south end of the street."

"Let’s go check it out," Ye Qichi said.

"Miss, what are you going to the vegetable market for?" Lu You was bewildered.

Ye Qichi did not explain.

She ventured into the vegetable market, buying so vegetables, beef, and various seasonings.

Not to ntion Xiao Wu, even Lu You, who had never been in a kitchen, didn’t understand.

"Miss, what are you buying these for?" Lu You asked.

"You’ll know when we get back," Ye Qichi replied teasingly.

It wasn’t that the food in ancient tis wasn’t delicious; it just lacked a certain feeling.

She suddenly felt like doing so cooking herself.

In the apocalypse, when bored, she would make gourt food to add a sense of ceremony to life.

Now she inexplicably felt the itch to cook again.

After having her fill of wandering and shopping, the party finally returned to the carriage and headed back to the palace.

Upon returning to the palace, Xiao Wu first delivered the purchases to Ye Qichi’s courtyard before going back to report to the Prince.

"Prince," Xiao Wu greeted respectfully.

"You were gone for such a long ti?" Xiao Jinxing’s face was clearly displeased.

"The Princess went to the physician’s hall, then to the marketplace, and finally to the vegetable market, which caused so delay." Xiao Wu quickly replied.

"What did she do?"

"The Princess went into the physician’s hall without letting

or Lu You follow, so I have no idea what she did inside. I only saw the Princess and the head of the physician’s hall coming out together, seeming to have enjoyed a very happy conversation," Xiao Wu reported.

Xiao Jinxing did not take it particularly to heart.

Since Ye Qichi wanted to treat him, going to the physician’s hall was indeed explainable.

"And the other places?"

"The Princess seed amazed by everything at the marketplace, so she bought a lot of trinkets and I’ve delivered them to the Princess’s courtyard."

"And what did she do at the vegetable market?"

"She bought so food," Xiao Wu answered.

Xiao Jinxing frowned.

Ye Qichi’s behavior was becoming more and more suspicious.

Yet it seed that, strange as it was, it was not unexpected.

"You may leave," Xiao Jinxing waved his hand.

"Prince," Xiao Wu hesitated, seemingly having sothing more to say.

"What is it?" Xiao Jinxing’s brow tightened.

Xiao Wu did not know how to start.

"Xiao Wu!" Xiao Jinxing’s voice grew stern.

"The head of the physician’s hall whom the Princess t with is a handso and dignified man."

Xiao Jinxing’s face clearly changed.

"It seems the Princess specifically went to see him," Xiao Wu continued to add.

He did not dare to look at the Prince’s face anymore.

"But I feel that the Prince’s looks are still superior by comparison. Miss Lu You also said as much," Xiao Wu braved through his words, then respectfully said, "I shall take my leave."

At this mont, leaving seed the best strategy.

"Stop right there!" Xiao Jinxing commanded sternly.

Xiao Wu was utterly respectful.

He wished he had said nothing.

But he always felt that the Princess seed capable of doing anything.

Perhaps, perhaps, perhaps... he didn’t dare to think further.

"Go to Ye Qichi’s courtyard!" Xiao Jinxing ordered.

Xiao Wu secretly breathed a sigh of relief.

Thank goodness the anger wasn’t directed at him.

He quickly wheeled the Prince towards the Princess’s courtyard.

Since their marriage, the Prince had never truly visited the Princess’s quarters.

The previous Princess was tender towards the Prince, yet she had never caught his eye even once. The current Princess constantly defied the Prince, angering him so much he could explode, yet it seed the Prince had taken an interest in her.

Xiao Wu wasn’t sure if the Prince had, perhaps, a masochistic tendency.

Xiao Wu wheeled Xiao Jinxing into Ye Qichi’s courtyard.

At this mont, Ye Qichi and Lu You were sitting on a stone bench under a large tree, with what seed to be a stove set in front of them on a stone table, a pot on top of the stove, the two of them talking and laughing, not noticing their arrival.

"Princess, can I just swish the at like this a few tis and it’s done?" Lu You asked, dipping a thin slice of beef into the boiling pot.

"That’s sufficient, it will beco tough if you keep it in longer," Ye Qichi urged.

Lu You picked it up, then dipped it into a bowl of sauce in front of her, stirred it following Ye Qichi’s example, and then put it in her mouth.

She was initially prepared for the worst.

But unexpectedly... it was delicious beyond description.

She felt she had never tasted such delicious food before, her eyes practically sparkling with stars.

Following the Princess was too blissful!

In the midst of enjoying.

Lu You suddenly saw Xiao Jinxing not far away.

Startled, her body shook violently, and she knelt on the ground as if she had seen a ghost, "Se-servant, pays respect to the Prince!"
