Chapter 44: Chapter 45: Love and Murder, A New Character Appears

Xiao Jinxing has not yet agreed.

Ye Qichi made another demand, not at all feeling that Xiao Jinxing would refuse.

She said, "By the way, I’m telling you that I am going to the market street early tomorrow morning."

Xiao Jinxing maintained a stern face, his voice cold, "Ye Qichi, do not overstep your bounds."

"Do you still want your leg treated?" Ye Qichi had an exasperated look, "I need to prepare so equipnt, or would you prefer I use magic to heal you?!"

Xiao Jinxing looked at Ye Qichi coldly.

As for the unintelligible terms in Ye Qichi’s words, he chose to automatically ignore them.

Assuming that Ye Qichi had lost her mind and was not thinking clearly.

"I will accompany you!" Xiao Jinxing suddenly said emphatically.

Ye Qichi looked disgusted, "With you in a wheelchair, accompanying

would be nothing but a burden, wouldn’t it?!"

Xiao Jinxing’s hands clenched the wheelchair handles tightly.

And he was angry again.

Little Wu standing by really wanted to disappear on the spot.

He couldn’t help but admire the Princess; she truly dared to say anything.

"If you want to supervise , just let Little Wu accompany ." Ye Qichi was indifferent and directly exposed Xiao Jinxing’s thoughts.

Xiao Jinxing’s face turned even uglier.

There was a feeling that this woman, Ye Qichi, seed to know everything he was thinking!

And this feeling was very annoying to him!

"Rember to have the steward bring the silver over later. I’m heading back now to spare you the eyesore of seeing ." Ye Qichi left after throwing out that remark.

Without the slightest bit of attachnt.

Little Wu stared at the Princess’s unconstrained retreating figure in utter amazent.

Whose wife does not try their utmost to please their husband? Yet here is the Princess, as if she can’t wait to infuriate the Prince to death!

He felt that if the Prince and Princess spent many more years together, the Prince would have a short life!

"Little Wu." Xiao Jinxing suddenly called him.

Little Wu snapped to attention and quickly knelt down, "At your service."

"Keep a close eye on Ye Qichi tomorrow! Make sure she doesn’t play any tricks!" Xiao Jinxing commanded.

In the end.

Xiao Jinxing could not possibly trust Ye Qichi completely.

The transformation in Ye Qichi was too great for him not to be on guard.

"As you command!"

Little Wu accepted the order.

In that mont, he couldn’t help thinking that even though the Prince disliked the Princess, in the end, he still agreed to all her demands.

That day when he left the Princess behind, was it not he who went to make sure whether the Princess had returned?! Even though he asked, "Is the Princess dead?!"

I wonder if this could be called "love-hate"?!

...

The next day.

Ye Qichi and Lu You changed into a set of casual clothes and waited at the entrance of the Royal Manor.

Lu You was sowhat excited, "Princess, are you really going to take

to the streets to have fun? Really?"

"Call

Miss," Ye Qichi corrected her.

Compared to Lu You, Ye Qichi was much more composed.

"Yes, Miss," Lu You quickly changed her form of address, maintaining an overwhelmingly excited deanor.

They waited at the entrance for a while.

Little Wu drove the carriage over.

Ye Qichi and Lu You got into the carriage, with Lu You becoming even more excited, "Miss, what did you do to the Prince yesterday? Not only did he allow the steward to send us so much silver, but he also instructed Little Wu to protect us while we go out. Has the Prince taken a liking to you..."

"Give up on that thought. Xiao Jinxing will never like your Miss in his lifeti." Ye Qichi sounded very decisive.

Fortunately, she had no feelings for Xiao Jinxing either.

If it were not for her current dependence on Xiao Jinxing to survive, they would have parted ways long ago!

"Miss," Lu You’s eyes reddened.

It was out of sympathy for her Miss’s plight.

Ye Qichi was speechless and too lazy to explain.

After all, no explanation would be believed.

She turned her head and drew back the curtains.

They had now arrived at the capital of Daxuan Kingdom, the most bustling street in Xun City.

Ye Qichi looked at the coming and going crowd, the bustle of the streets, truly feeling the visual sense of a flourishing dynasty.

In fact, the Daxuan Kingdom portrayed in the books was indeed prosperous and thriving, but subsequently underwent a period of decline due to imperial power struggles.

Fortunately, Xiao Jinxing was a wise emperor, although sowhat ruthless, he was definitely a good emperor.

Hence, after his ascension, he quickly brought Daxuan Kingdom back to its peak.

Ye Qichi silently pondered over the plotline.

"Miss." Xiao Wu stopped the carriage and respectfully said, "We’ve arrived at the dical clinic."

Ye Qichi alighted from the carriage.

Lu You was puzzled, "Miss, why are you visiting the dical clinic? Are you feeling unwell? There is a house doctor at ho as well."

"To see a handso guy," Ye Qichi stated bluntly.

"..." Lu You, petrified.

Ye Qichi walked into the dical clinic.

A shop assistant ca forward, "Miss, are you here to see a doctor? If so, please wait a mont here, we have many patients today."

"I’m not here to see a doctor, I’m looking for your clinic’s director," Ye Qichi cut straight to the point.

The shop assistant sized up Ye Qichi from head to toe, "May I know the miss’s honorable surna and na? And what matter brings you to seek our director?"

"Ye Qichi. Just say, I’ve co to treat him."

The shop assistant looked surprised.

Seeing that Ye Qichi did not seem to be joking, he swiftly turned and walked into the clinic.

After a short while.

The shop assistant ca out, "Miss Ye, our director invites you in."

Ye Qichi’s mouth curved into a smile.

She followed the shop assistant’s steps.

Xiao Wu and Lu You naturally followed along as well.

"Our director only wishes to see Miss Ye alone," the shop assistant stopped Xiao Wu and Lu You.

"Wait for

outside," Ye Qichi instructed.

"Miss," Lu You was clearly worried.

"It’s nothing," Ye Qichi dropped the words and followed the shop assistant into the back yard of the clinic.

In a pavilion in the backyard, there sat a man in white.

Away from the clamor of the front house, through a doorway, this place seed like another tranquil and beautiful haven, an earthly paradise.

Ye Qichi approached the man in white.

He was currently playing Weiqi by himself.

Sensing soone’s arrival, he did not lift his head.

His slender fingers held a black piece, yet he did not place it on the board for a long ti.

"You lost," Ye Qichi spoke up.

The man’s brows lightly furrowed.

He lifted his head.

At that mont, Ye Qichi saw his face.

The book described this man as a figure in white, standing against the wind, with clear brows and handso eyes, free and unfettered as the breeze. Indeed, he was likened to jade encountered by chance on a path, unparalleled in this world!

Now seeing him with her own eyes, he was truly elegant and divinely handso, exuding the aura of a banished immortal!

"Who has lost?" the man asked her, his voice clear and magnetic.

"Black," Ye Qichi replied.

"I haven’t placed my piece yet; how do you know I’ve lost?"

"Want to bet on a ga?" Ye Qichi asked.

"I, Gu Soone, never gamble with others," said the man as he placed down the black piece.

Ye Qichi directly picked up a white piece from the side and unhesitatingly placed it on the board.

The man glanced at it, and as he reached to move the black piece again, his hand suddenly paused.

Obviously, he realized that in at most two more moves, he would indeed lose.

In that mont, a flicker of surprise passed through his eyes.

He looked up at Ye Qichi once more, his gaze containing a deeper scrutiny.

Ye Qichi’s mouth curled into a smile, "Thank you for letting

win!"
