Chapter 108: Blue Flas IV

Blue flas billowed from his body.

They erupted outward with intensity that exceeded anything he had summoned before, expanding across the Lands of Stone in every direction. The crimson-blue ground that already held his blood responded eagerly, amplifying the sacred fire as it spread.

A mile radius.

The flas covered more than a mile radius around them, transforming the barren plains into a sea of blue-gold radiance that seed to reach toward the sky itself.

And even on the distant wall of the tribe, the flas found their target.

Grandmother Essun stood there with a cackling gaze, her gnarled hands gripping her staff as blue fire wrapped around her ancient body. She didn’t flinch. She didn’t retreat. She laughed with joy that seed to shake years from her bent fra.

But on that mile radius, the blue flas blazed with purpose.

It looked like an ancient ritual.

Sothing from before the Three Pillars had claid their territories. Sothing from when humans and beasts had first learned to harness Mana. Sothing sacred and primal and utterly forgotten by the modern age.

Blue pillars of fla wrapped around Uncle Adam, lifting his essence and flooding his ridians with power that made his Bone Tempering cultivation sing.

Blue pillars wrapped around Serala, her wings of white-blue light manifesting behind her as her eyes pulsed with a holy air.

Blue pillars wrapped around Masamuk, the sli’s obsidian body drinking in the sacred fire with hunger that spoke of depths even he hadn’t known he possessed.

Blue pillars wrapped around the Inkanyamba, the Behemoth’s storm-filled eyes widening as lightning crackled through its form in harmony with the flas.

And on Damian, the biggest pillar of blue flas raged.

His eyes were unfathomably bright, blazing with light that matched the fire surrounding him. He could feel his flas coursing from his body and into everyone else, threads of sacred power connecting them all in a web of cultivation.

His palms split open.

Blood flowed into the flas, mixing with the sacred fire and spreading through those connections. His Second Doctrine activated fully, extending his cultivation into external beings rather than re stone and wood.

He began an astounding ritual and process.

He could see the astonishnt in the eyes of Serala and Masamuk as their bodies took in droves of blue flas. Serala’s radiant wings grew brighter, more defined, pulsing with holy air as if she had entered a unique period of cultivation that should have been impossible.

---

Serala....had always been a genius.

Part of the reason she beca the Holy Daughter was her Land and Sky Physique. The Wings of the Radiant Dawn that hadn’t manifested in a woman for seventeen generations. The power that let her take to the skies on will alone, that marked her as chosen by forces older than the Covenant itself.

But the other reason was her natural talent in cultivation.

She had advanced to Organ Sanctification at an age when most cultivators were still struggling with Blood Ignition. Her organs had sanctified themselves with a harmony that her teachers called unprecedented. Her heart pumped Mana as readily as blood. Her lungs extracted power from every breath. Her entire body had beco a self-contained engine of cultivation that exceeded what should have been possible for soone so young.

And this whole ti, she had been waiting to tackle the stage above.

Vessel Completion.

The second major threshold.

The stage where the body beca a land unto itself, where physical cultivation unified into a complete system, where one existed partially within the physical lands and partially within the flow of Mana itself.

The stage where that Imperator they wanted to attack currently stood.

Serala knew the theory intimately.

Vessel Completion required consolidation. Harmonization. A period of retreat where all previous cultivation clicked into place through a mont of enlightennt. Most Warriors at her level spent years or decades preparing for that transition. So never achieved it at all.

She had planned to attempt it in a few years.

Maybe five.

Maybe ten.

When her foundation had settled fully and her accumulated power reached the threshold necessary for the leap.

But with these blue flas from this weird Tokoloshe...

She felt sothing she had never felt before.

Possibility.

The flas coursed through her body with warmth that reminded her of childhood, of safety, of being held by her mother before duty had separated them forever. They touched her sanctified organs and made them sing. They flowed through her blood and elevated it to heights she hadn’t known existed.

And they whispered.

Not in words exactly. In feelings. In impressions. In the sense that impossible things could beco possible if she only tried.

Serala moved naturally.

She felt like these blue flas could make many impossible things possible.

So... she attacked the wall of Vessel Completion.

Even though she shouldn’t be ready for it.

Even though every principle of cultivation said this was reckless and foolish and likely to result in devastating backlash.

She attacked anyway.

Her organs, already sanctified, began to unify. The separate systems that had been functioning independently started to harmonize into sothing greater. Her heart and lungs and liver and stomach, all the vessels of specific Mana function, began communicating in ways they never had before.

Her Physique helped.

The Wings of the Radiant Dawn blazed behind her with intensity that made the blue flas seem dim by comparison. White-blue radiance poured from her eyes, her skin, her very soul as the power of her bloodline surged to support this impossible advancent.

She pushed against the threshold.

And the threshold began to crack.

But the flas were dying down!

The initial eruption of power from the Tokoloshe was fading, the blue fire settling into embers that might not be enough to complete what she had started. Panic flickered through her concentration. If she failed now, half-transford between stages, the consequences could be catastrophic.

And then she heard him speak again.

"Persevere."

HUUUM!

The flas shot higher than ever!

Blue-gold radiance exploded around her with renewed intensity, flooding her body with power that made the initial surge seem gentle. The sacred fire attacked the threshold of Vessel Completion with her, adding its weight to her assault.

And the wall shattered.

Her advancent stabilized rapidly.

What should have taken years compressed into monts. What should have required decades of preparation completed in the span of heartbeats. Her body transford, her cultivation unified, her existence shifted to occupy that space between physical reality and the flow of Mana!

Faintly, she could have sworn that the blue flas whispered to her.

Persevere.

Persevere.

PERSEVERE!

BOOM!

When Serala opened her eyes, the lands was different.

She could see Mana.

Not sense it...see it.

Flows and concentrations visible as clearly as physical objects, currents of power streaming through the air and the ground and the bodies of everyone around her. The blue flas that still flickered around them blazed with radiance that her old eyes could never have perceived. The Lands of Stone pulsed with networks of energy that had always been there but had always been hidden.

Her body had achieved a state of stable perfection.

She could feel it in every fiber of her being. The aging that should have been creeping toward her in another century or two had ceased entirely. Her physical form could be subtly altered through Mana manipulation now. Her presence had beco overwhelming to those of lower cultivation.

She was at Vessel Completion.

Sixth Circle.

The sa level as the Imperator they intended to hunt.

Her eyes found the Tokoloshe, still seated at the center of that massive ritual, still blazing with blue flas that connected him to everyone present. His dark blue eyes t hers.

And Serala wondered.

Just.. who is he to be capable of doing all this?
